All Choose An Ability Badges Guide, How to Get!

Choose An Ability has several hidden badges that can unlock special abilities and give players access to some unusual powers. However, many of these rewards are not explained clearly in the game, so finding them often requires exploring the map, completing secret objectives, or working together with another player.

In this guide, we will cover the badge methods featured in Part 1, including the Ice Sword, Hollow Purple, Shark, Exotic, Owner, and Coil abilities. Some of these require specific abilities, while others are much easier to complete with a friend.

How to Get the Ice Sword Badge

The Ice Sword is obtained through a hidden interaction involving a destructible building. To start, you need to make your way toward the area where the structure can be destroyed. A player using the Red ability can destroy the building and reveal the Ice Sword hidden inside.

The important part is that you need to wait for the structure to be destroyed before you can collect the sword. Once it appears, you can pick it up and use the Ice Sword ability. The weapon is temporary, so you cannot keep it permanently after switching to another ability.

The Ice Sword is still worth obtaining because it deals a significant amount of damage. However, be careful when changing abilities because doing so will cause the temporary sword ability to disappear.

How to Get the Hollow Purple Badge

The Hollow Purple badge is one of the more complicated secrets because it requires two players to work together. You need two different abilities that can be combined at the same time to trigger the hidden event.

One player needs to use Reversal Red, while the other player can use Blue. Both abilities need to be activated at almost exactly the same moment. If the combination works correctly, the players should be transported to a separate area or realm.

Once you reach this area, you need to complete the challenge inside and win the fight. Successfully completing the challenge should reward you with the secret Hollow Purple badge.

Because the timing can be difficult, it is best to communicate with your teammate before activating the abilities. Having both players ready to use their powers at the same time makes the process much easier.

How to Get the Shark Badge

The Shark badge requires you to find a hidden area and complete a small objective involving a fish. Start by heading toward the section of the map where the parkour route can be found.

Follow the parkour path until you reach a portal. Be careful when entering it because the portal can sometimes cause your character to die. Jump into the portal when you are ready, and you should be transported to the hidden area.

Once inside, look for the yellow pearl. After finding it, take the fish and bring it over to the shark. Feed the fish to the shark, and the Shark badge should appear shortly afterward.

The Shark ability gives you a powerful attack that launches a large projectile toward your target. It can deal a considerable amount of damage, making the badge useful beyond simply collecting it.

How to Get the Exotic Ability Badge

The Exotic ability is another powerful reward that requires you to pay attention to the map. At certain times, a purple sword can spawn somewhere in the arena.

When the purple sword appears, your goal is to locate it and pick it up. Successfully claiming the sword will give you the corresponding reward and allow you to use the Exotic ability.

There is an additional benefit to obtaining the sword. As long as you stay alive, you can continue using it. This means you should avoid unnecessary fights after collecting it, especially if your main goal is to keep the weapon for as long as possible.

Since the sword spawn can be difficult to predict, players should keep an eye on the arena and move around the map instead of staying in one location.

How to Get the Owner Ability

The Owner ability is obtained by defeating the game’s owner. This makes the badge more challenging than some of the exploration-based rewards because you need to successfully eliminate another player.

One strategy is to use an ability with a strong explosion or knockback effect. Try forcing the owner toward the edge or a corner of the map before using the attack.

If the explosion launches the target outside the arena, you can potentially eliminate them much more easily than trying to defeat them through a normal fight. Once the owner is defeated, you should receive the corresponding badge and unlock the ability.

Keep in mind that this method depends on successfully getting the owner into a position where the knockback can work in your favor.

How to Get the Coil Ability

The Coil ability has a relatively simple badge requirement, but you will need another player to help you. The easiest method is to ask a friend to use the Coil ability against you.

Have your friend hit you with the Coil ability once. After the hit registers, you can jump off the map and allow your character to be eliminated.

The important part is that the Coil ability needs to hit you before you leave the arena. Once the game registers the hit and you are eliminated, your friend should be able to receive the Coil-related reward.

The Coil itself also provides useful movement options. It can be switched between different effects, including increased gravity and increased movement speed. Because of these options, the ability can be useful for both movement and general gameplay.

How to Get the Lightning Badge

The Lightning badge starts with purchasing the Lightning ability. Unlike some of the hidden rewards that require you to search around the map, this one begins by getting the correct ability equipped.

Once you have Lightning, follow the required interaction or challenge associated with the ability. After completing the objective, the badge should be awarded to your character.

If you are working through the badges in order, it is worth making sure you have enough Cash beforehand. Having the Lightning ability ready means you can immediately attempt the badge requirement instead of needing to return to the shop first.

How to Reach the Island

Several of the badge objectives in this part require you to travel to another island. To reach it, head toward the section of the main island where you can find an NPC named Joe.

Talk to Joe and select the option that asks him to take you to the island. The trip costs 200 Cash, so make sure you have enough currency before speaking to him.

After paying Joe, you will be transported to the island. Once you arrive, you can interact with the NPC there and ask them to fight, which is part of the progression for the related badge objective.

This island is also important for other ability unlocks, so remembering Joe’s location can save time when you need to return later.

How to Get the Dash Badge

The Dash badge requires you to complete a parkour challenge. Before attempting it, it is recommended that you equip movement-focused abilities such as Teleport and Coil.

Once you are prepared, travel to the igloo area. Enter the igloo and you will find an obstacle course waiting inside.

The course requires you to carefully move across the platforms and avoid falling. Take your time with each jump because missing a platform can force you to restart the section.

Continue through the entire obby until you reach the end. Once the challenge is completed successfully, you should receive the Dash ability and its associated badge.

Having Coil or Teleport available can make the challenge easier, particularly when dealing with sections that require precise movement.

How to Get the Wind Badge

The Wind badge requires some preparation because you need Cash, a fish, and an island ticket. Start by making sure you have enough currency to purchase the required items.

You need to have around 300 Cash available for this process. Speak to the appropriate NPC and obtain the fish and island ticket needed for the challenge.

Once you have both items, take them to the required location and use them as instructed. After completing the interaction, you should receive the Wind ability.

The important part is making sure you have the required items before starting the process. Running out of Cash or missing one of the items can prevent you from completing the objective.

How to Get the Power Walk Badge

The Power Walk badge is one of the more straightforward combat challenges in Part 2, but you need to use a specific ability.

First, obtain and equip the Rock ability. Once you have it equipped, your goal is to eliminate three players during the same life.

You cannot simply get three kills across multiple lives. All three eliminations need to happen before your character dies.

Use the Rock ability carefully and focus on opponents that you can defeat without putting yourself in unnecessary danger. After getting the first kill, continue looking for suitable targets while protecting your remaining health.

Once you successfully defeat three players in a single life using Rock, the Power Walk badge requirement should be completed and the ability will be unlocked.

The first group of Choose An Ability badges includes a mix of hidden map secrets, combat challenges, temporary weapons, and objectives that require cooperation. The Ice Sword involves destroying a structure, Hollow Purple requires two players to combine abilities, and the Shark badge sends you through a hidden portal to complete a fish-related objective.

Meanwhile, the Exotic and Owner abilities are tied to combat and special weapons, while the Coil badge can be completed with help from another player. If you are trying to collect every badge in Choose An Ability, these objectives are a good place to start before moving on to the remaining badge secrets in Part 2.
