Choosing the right units in Anime Origins can be difficult, especially when you have a large roster filled with units of different rarities and abilities. Some characters are useful for early progression, while others are much better for endgame content, bosses, farming, or specific game modes.

To make team building easier, this Anime Origins tier list ranks the strongest units from SS to D Tier. The highest-ranked units are the ones we recommend prioritizing when spending your Gems, while lower-ranked characters are generally better used as temporary options until you get stronger units. Before summoning, make sure you have enough Gems. You can also check the latest Anime Origins codes for additional rewards and resources.

SS Tier Units

SS Tier is reserved for the strongest characters currently available in Anime Origins. These units offer an excellent combination of damage, abilities, survivability, or utility, allowing them to remain useful across multiple types of content. If you have the opportunity to build your team around one of these units, they are generally worth investing in.

  • Madaro (Edo Tensei) is an outstanding DPS with massive AoE damage and a powerful Heaven Splitter attack that can deal 500% Damage. He can also attack enemies outside his normal Range and has resistance to Crowd Control. His additional Stun effects make him even more useful when dealing with difficult enemies.
  • Cursed Lover (Pure Love) stands out because of his ability to copy and store up to four Active Abilities. This gives him incredible flexibility while still maintaining strong personal damage. His Love Beam can deal 300% total Damage, making him one of the best choices for players who want both powerful damage and versatile abilities.
  • Valcrad (Unleashed) becomes stronger as his abilities develop, gaining Crit Chance, Range scaling, and additional Damage against bleeding enemies and summons. His Restriction levels also improve over time. On top of his damage, Coffin Trap can Stun a boss for seven seconds, giving him strong control against dangerous targets.

S+ Tier Units

S+ Tier characters are just below the absolute strongest units, but they are still excellent choices for building a powerful team. These units can provide major damage, strong support effects, or useful abilities that improve the performance of the entire lineup.

  • Bon (Purgatory) is one of the best support units thanks to his food-based buffs. He can provide Damage, Cooldown, Range, and other useful improvements to your team. He also increases the amount of money gained from defeated enemies, allowing him to contribute to both combat and the economy.
  • Starku (Primordial) has impressive damage for a Mythic unit and becomes especially valuable because of his powerful nuke. His burst potential allows him to handle tougher enemies effectively and gives him a strong position among the game’s top DPS options.
  • Igritto (Commander Starku) has consistent combat performance thanks to his Oppressing buffs. His ability can provide additional Damage and Cooldown improvements, allowing him to maintain strong output throughout a stage rather than depending entirely on a single massive attack.
  • Goju (Honored One) brings excellent crowd control to a team. He can nullify attacks against himself, slow enemies, and use Time Stop to control dangerous targets. These defensive and control abilities make him particularly valuable when dealing with difficult waves.
  • Tango (Star of Festivals) is a reliable Ground unit that can fill an important role for teams that need strong Ground coverage. While he does not have quite as many standout mechanics as the very best units, he remains a dependable choice for a strong lineup.

S Tier Units

S Tier includes units that are highly effective but may have slightly more specific roles or limitations compared with the SS and S+ characters. They are still strong enough to become important parts of a serious Anime Origins team.

  • Noroto (Linked) receives major Damage, Cooldown, and Range improvements while using his Nine Tails’ Cloak transformation. Every third attack can also trigger an AoE burst, giving him strong wave-clearing potential. His transformation provides a noticeable power increase during longer battles.
  • Tojei (Sorcerer Killer) is particularly effective against bosses and benefits from having Neutral typing. This allows him to deal dependable damage against different enemy types. However, his inability to receive buffs prevents him from reaching the highest tier.
  • Vegita (Super) is a strong Hill unit with good damage and useful multi-placement potential. He can become even stronger when Goku is nearby, although his reliance on another unit for part of his passive prevents him from competing directly with the best units.
  • Aneko (Queen) has full AoE coverage and becomes more powerful as enemies lose HP. This makes her particularly effective against groups of enemies and gives her strong wave-clearing potential. She is also a strong option for teams that need a powerful Hill unit.
  • Shinaru (Butterfly Dance) provides valuable support and team utility. She can contribute to a lineup without needing to be the primary damage dealer, although her overall impact is somewhat narrower than the strongest supports such as Bon and Goju.
  • Yoto (Calamity) provides consistent combat performance and remains useful during longer stages. He does not have the same level of damage or utility as the units above him, but he is still a dependable S Tier option.

A Tier Units

A Tier units are reliable choices that can perform well when placed in the right team. They may not have the same combination of power and utility as the top-tier characters, but they are still worth using if you do not have better alternatives.

  • Itsugo (Dangai) starts with strong Damage and can gain additional Damage as enemies travel farther along the path. This makes him particularly effective on longer maps where enemies have more time to progress before reaching the end.
  • Zeldo (Piety) can increase his own Damage and works especially well alongside Meliodas. His kit is fairly straightforward, but he does not provide enough additional utility to compete with the stronger meta DPS characters.
  • Konpatchi (Unleashed) offers good damage and becomes more useful when enemies are already weakened. His ability to deal extra damage and help finish off targets makes him a useful offensive unit.
  • Gyutari (Upper Moon) is a strong AoE option with Poison and Blood Cut attacks. His attacks can also explode around enemies for additional damage, making him useful against groups. However, his overall performance is still below the strongest DPS units.
  • Goki (Super 3) is particularly good for boss fights. He can build Fighting Spirit stacks, which increase his Damage and Crit Chance. Once enough stacks have been built, his performance can become very strong, making him a useful choice for boss-focused stages.
  • Bluma (Data Analyst) is one of the more valuable farming units in Anime Origins. Her Training Data can eventually provide a 30% Income boost, making her especially useful in Infinite Mode where additional income becomes more valuable as the match continues.

B Tier Units

B Tier characters can still be useful, especially during progression or when your roster does not contain enough high-tier options. However, they generally have noticeable limitations that prevent them from competing with the strongest units.

  • Melio (Assault) has a wide range of effects, including Petrify, Burn, Slow, Damage buffs, and other abilities through his Commandments. The main problem is that he cycles between these effects, meaning you cannot always rely on him to provide the exact buff or effect you need.
  • Oxi (Mage) can provide useful support and works as a replacement when you do not have access to stronger support units. However, his overall impact is considerably lower than the game’s top support characters.
  • Mykie (Toman) can provide a 10% Damage buff when placed as the leader. The problem is that the buff requires time to build and comes with specific placement conditions, making him less consistent than higher-ranked support units.
  • Itsoda is a useful Hill unit that can provide coverage from elevated positions. He can be helpful during early progression, but stronger Hill units eventually provide much more value.
  • Leorio is mainly useful for economy-focused setups. He can refund part of an upgrade cost when units are upgraded within his Range. While this makes him helpful for farming, his limited combat power means he is not a strong choice for a main DPS lineup.

C Tier Unit

C Tier units are still usable, particularly if your roster is limited, but they should generally be replaced once stronger characters become available.

  • Sosuke (Eternal) can fill the role of a Ground unit while you work toward better options. His performance is noticeably weaker than the stronger Ground units in Anime Origins, so he will likely be replaced once you obtain higher-tier characters.

D Tier Units

D Tier includes the remaining low-rarity units that are not listed in the higher tiers. These characters can be useful during the earliest stages of progression, but they generally do not offer enough value to justify long-term investment.

If your summons do not give you anything from C Tier or above, it is usually better to continue saving Gems and work toward stronger units instead of heavily investing in low-rarity characters.

Which Anime Origins Units Should You Use?

The best team will depend on your available units and the game mode you are playing, but the SS and S+ characters are the safest choices when building a high-end lineup. Madaro, Cursed Lover, and Valcrad are excellent priorities for players looking for powerful core units.

Support is also important, so units such as Bon and Goju can have a major impact even when they are not your primary damage dealers. For farming and Infinite Mode, Bluma can also provide significant value because of her Income boost.

Keep in mind that the meta can change whenever Anime Origins receives new units, balance changes, or updates. A unit that ranks highly today may fall behind after stronger characters are added, so it is worth checking the tier list again after major updates.
