Astral Observatory Fisch Update Guide: New Codes & What Is Coming?

The next major Fisch update is bringing players to the stars with the opening of the Astral Observatory and a new laboratory expansion. This update adds more than just new fish, as players will be able to investigate strange celestial events, collect materials, craft special equipment, find new fishing rods, and discover hidden locations.

There are also new Astral Anomalies, a new companion called Comet, a powerful Hunt Fish, and many new Bestiary entries. Here is everything currently announced for the Astral Observatory update.

Astral Observatory and Laboratory Expansion

The Astral Observatory is officially opening on the main platform. Players will meet Dr. Crookspine and Astronomer Vega, who will introduce the new celestial investigation content.

The main goal is to investigate strange events appearing in the night sky. To do this, players will need to travel across five different locations and collect materials.

These materials can then be used to craft specialized Telescopic Lenses and Batteries. These items are important for powering the Observatory and discovering the strange events happening above Fisch.

The Observatory is also expected to provide new rewards, including several fishing rods.

Astral Anomalies

One of the biggest features in the update is the new Astral Anomaly system. Players can use Batteries to power the Observatory telescope. Once activated, the telescope can trigger temporary nighttime events across the server.

These anomalies are more than visual changes. Each one provides a unique server-wide passive stat buff and can also introduce new space-related mutations. The announced Astral Anomalies include:

• Celestial Congregation
• Abyssal Alignment
• Evershifting Eclipse
• Meteoric Outburst
• Lunar Eclipse

Since these events affect the entire server, players will have a reason to pay attention whenever an anomaly appears. They could potentially create better opportunities for fishing and obtaining special mutations.

New Fishing Rods

The Astral Observatory update will also add several new fishing rods. These rods are connected to the new celestial content and should give players more options when building their fishing setup. The currently announced rods are:

• Scavenger Rod
• Meteoric Rod
• Rod of the Singularity
• Stellarwave Melody

More rods may also be added later as the update develops.

If you are collecting rods or trying to build a stronger setup, the new Astral content should give you several new goals to work toward.

New Companion: Comet

A new companion named Comet is also coming to Fisch. Comet is described as a living Astral companion that can be found roaming around fallen stars. Once you find one, you can feed it Stardust Candy to tame it.

After being tamed, Comet will rest on top of your character’s head and provide a passive Astral Luck bonus. This bonus increases the server’s chances of getting rare meteor and starfall drops. That could make Comet particularly useful when players are farming the new celestial content.

Comet may also have another ability that allows it to shoot stars at a targeted fish, giving the companion an additional effect during fishing.

New Hunt Fish: Goliath Siphonophore

The update is also introducing a new Hunt Fish called the Goliath Siphonophore. This massive exotic creature can be found in a hidden pool inside Boreal Hollow. The area is located behind reinforced crab cage doors, so players will need to discover how to access the hidden location.

The Goliath Siphonophore has a special fishing mechanic. During the fight, it can temporarily freeze your progress bar and reduce your resilience while you are reeling it in. Because of these mechanics, this Hunt Fish may require more careful timing than a normal catch. Players should be prepared for the progress bar to stop and for the reduced resilience to make the fight more difficult.

New Fish and Bestiary Entries

The Astral Observatory update is also expanding the Bestiary with many new creatures and materials. There will be six new fishable pools and hidden crevice areas spread across the sea. These locations will contain new aquatic species, crab cage catches, and materials used for crafting.

This means players will have plenty of new areas to explore instead of simply fishing in the same locations as before. The new locations are also connected to questlines involving local characters. These quests will provide clues about the strange anomalies appearing around each area.

New Secret Sub-Locations

Exploration is another important part of the update. Several hidden crevices and secret areas are being added across the sea.

Some of these locations are connected to the new fish, crafting materials, and questlines. Players will need to explore different parts of the map to find everything.

If you are trying to complete the new Bestiary, do not focus only on the obvious fishing spots. Hidden pools and smaller areas could contain catches that cannot be found elsewhere.

New Quests

The Astral Observatory update will add new questlines involving characters found around the different locations.

These quests are tied to the strange celestial phenomena and can help players learn more about the anomalies.

While exploring, keep an eye out for NPCs and interact with characters in areas connected to the new content. Completing their objectives could also help you gather the materials needed for the Observatory.

Bug Fixes and Quality of Life Changes

The update is not only about new content. Several quality-of-life improvements are also being added.

One notable change affects the loading screen music. The loading music will now respect the player’s Music Volume setting and will be muffled before player data finishes loading.

This should make the transition into the game less disruptive, especially for players who prefer to keep their music volume low.

New Fisch Code

A new code has also been announced for the update.

• Use: ShootingStars — Redeem this code for its available reward.

Make sure to enter the code exactly as shown and redeem it while it is still active. Fisch codes can expire, so it is better not to wait too long before using one.
