Update 2 in Grow A Chicken Fighter adds a lot of new content. This update is not only about getting new chickens. There is now a Chicken Arena, Rebirth Milestones, new Missions, an Ascension Egg, nine new chickens, Recycler upgrades, and better Weekly Shop rewards. If you jump straight back into your normal egg grinding, you could miss some free rewards or waste resources. Here is a simple guide to help you go through everything in the right order.
Join a Fresh Server First
Before doing anything else, make sure you are playing on a server with Update 2 active.
If you join an older server and cannot see the new features, simply leave and join another server. A fresh server should have the latest update available.
Once you are inside, open the new Patch Notes menu. This gives you an easy way to check everything that was added or changed in Update 2.
It is also useful to check Patch Notes whenever a new update comes out, especially if you are unsure about changes to eggs, chickens, or progression.
Try the New Chicken Arena
The Chicken Arena is one of the biggest additions in Update 2. Before entering, prepare your strongest combat chicken.
Do not choose a chicken based only on its Attack stat. Other stats and its Special can make a big difference during a fight.
Check these stats before choosing your Arena chicken:
- HP
- Attack
- Power
- Speed
- Special
- Fusion abilities
A chicken with slightly lower basic stats can still be better if it has a strong Special.
You should also avoid recycling or fusing your strongest chickens immediately. The nine new chickens could change the best combinations, so test them first before getting rid of anything important.
Be Careful When Fusing Chickens
Fusion is still an important part of building stronger chickens, but Update 2 gives you even more reasons to be careful.
If you have a chicken with a Special that you really want to keep, make sure you lock the Special before starting a fusion whenever the system allows it.
For example, if you have a powerful ability such as Voodoo or Cycle of Ash, losing it because of an accidental fusion would be a huge waste.
Before confirming a fusion, always check:
- Which chickens are being used.
- Which Special you want to keep.
- Which Special could be lost.
- What the possible result is.
- Whether the chicken is needed for another progression system.
Check Your Rebirth Milestones
Another major feature in Update 2 is Rebirth Milestones.
Open this menu as soon as possible, especially if you already have a high number of rebirths. Your previous rebirth progress may already unlock several rewards.
The milestone track goes up to 500 rebirths and includes different rewards, such as:
- Egg bundles
- HP bonuses
- Attack bonuses
- Other milestone rewards
There is also a Claim All button, so make sure to collect anything that is already available.
Before doing another rebirth, check how close you are to the next milestone. If you only need a few more rebirths to reach another reward, it may be worth pushing toward that milestone first.
However, do not rebirth just because the button is available. Make sure the reward is worth the resources and progress you are giving up.
Complete the New Missions
Update 2 also adds new Missions.
Before starting your usual grinding session, open the Mission menu and check the available objectives. You can save a lot of time by completing multiple missions at the same time.
For example, if one Mission requires you to hatch eggs while another requires combat or general progression, try to work on both during the same session.
A good routine is:
- Check your Missions before grinding.
- Combine objectives whenever possible.
- Claim completed rewards.
- Check the Mission menu again after claiming rewards.
- Use the Missions to decide what you should do next.
This gives your grinding session a clear goal instead of simply doing the same activity over and over.
How to Use the New Ascension Egg
The Ascension Egg is one of the most interesting additions in Update 2. The update also introduces nine new chickens, but do not assume that every new chicken comes from the same egg.
Open your Egg Index and look at the newly added entries. Check their egg source, rarity, and progression requirements.
If you get an Ascension Egg, do not immediately use all of your resources around it. First, find out how easy it is to obtain another one.
Your first Ascension Egg should be treated as valuable until you understand the new system better.
This is especially important if the egg is difficult to obtain or connected to a longer progression path.
Keep Your First Copy of Every New Chicken
The nine new chickens may become much more useful once players discover their best combinations.
Because of this, do not immediately recycle a new chicken just because its stats do not look impressive.
When you hatch a new chicken, check these four things:
- Combat stats
- Special ability
- Egg it can produce
- Laying chance
A chicken does not need to have the highest Attack to be useful. It could have a Special that becomes powerful through fusion or provide access to an important egg.
For now, the safest strategy is to keep at least one copy of every new chicken. You can decide what to do with duplicates after you understand their actual value.
Upgrade the Recycler Carefully
The Recycler has also received new upgrades in Update 2.
Before recycling duplicate chickens or unwanted eggs, check the available upgrades. Compare the cost of the upgrade with the extra value you will receive.
A Recycler upgrade can be useful if you recycle items often, but it should not become your main priority if you still need money for more important upgrades.
Consider saving your resources for things such as:
- Incubator upgrades
- Important progression upgrades
- Strong chickens
- Other systems that directly improve your grinding
Upgrade the Recycler when the extra return is actually worth the investment.
Check the Improved Weekly Shop
The Weekly Shop has better rewards in Update 2, so you should now pay more attention to it.
Check the current shop rotation before spending your resources elsewhere. The available items can change, so an older guide may not match what you currently see in-game.
When choosing rewards, focus on items that help you save grinding time or move toward your current goal faster.
If the shop has a resource that normally takes a long time to obtain, it may be worth prioritizing over more common items.
Update for Console Players
Update 2 also improves the experience for console players. If you play on console, check the updated navigation and controls after entering the game. Some parts of the interface may feel different after the update. For everyone else, the new Patch Notes screen is also worth using. It gives you a quick way to understand future changes without having to guess what was added.
Update 2 adds much more than just nine new chickens to Grow A Chicken Fighter. The Chicken Arena, Rebirth Milestones, Missions, Ascension Egg, Recycler upgrades, and Weekly Shop changes can all affect how you progress.
The biggest tip is to slow down before spending your resources. Check your milestone rewards, Missions, Egg Index, and new chickens first. Keep your first copies of new chickens until you know what they are useful for, and only recycle or fuse duplicates once you are sure you do not need them.
After checking all of these systems, you can return to your normal grinding with a much better idea of what to work toward in Update 2.
