Fisch Astral Observatory Bestiary Guide: All Locations and Fish!

The Astral Observatory is one of the more unusual Bestiaries to complete in Fisch because its fish are not concentrated in one fishing spot. Instead, you need to travel between several hidden pools and Astral Caverns scattered across different parts of the map. Each area has its own selection of fish, and some catches also require specific bait, weather, seasons, or times of day.

How to Reach the Astral Observatory Fishing Pools

The Astral Observatory is made up of several separate fishing areas rather than one normal island or pool. To complete its Bestiary, you need to visit each of these locations and fish according to the requirements of the species found there. Some areas are relatively easy to reach, while others are hidden behind caves, special doors, underwater entrances, or seasonal requirements.

The main locations covered by this Bestiary are:

  • Boreal Hollow
  • Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern
  • Snowcap Blue Moon Astral Cavern
  • Abyssal Zenith Astral Cavern
  • Everturn Forest Astral Cavern

Boreal Hollow Location

Boreal Hollow is a hidden cave located on Boreal Pines Island and is one of the main fishing areas for the Astral Observatory Bestiary. The location can be found around GPS (21385, 249, 3816). To reach it, first travel to the Northern Expedition area and continue toward Boreal Hollow Island. Once there, move north in a northeastern direction until you find the entrance to the secret cave.

After entering Boreal Hollow, you can begin fishing for several Astral Observatory species. This location is especially important because it contains fish ranging from Common catches all the way up to Exotic species, so you will likely need to spend some time here.

Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern Location

The Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern is another secret fishing area located within the Northern Expedition. Start by reaching Cryogenic Canal, which is the third base camp in the area. From there, travel toward the slope bridge around GPS (20047, 610, 5857).

Near the bridge, you should find a cave entrance with a large drop. Carefully jump down and look for a brick positioned in the corner. There is a dark opening beside this area. Enter the dark space to reach the hidden Astral Cavern, where you can fish for species exclusive to this part of the Bestiary.

Snowcap Blue Moon Astral Cavern Location

The Snowcap Blue Moon Astral Cavern has an additional requirement that makes it more complicated than most of the other locations. You need the Winter Season before you can access the Blue Moon-related area. Once Winter is active on your server, travel to Snowcap Island and purchase a Blue Moon Totem for 1,200,000 C$ at approximately GPS (2717, 141, 2480).

After obtaining the required Blue Moon Totem, travel to around GPS (2698, 188, 2563) to find the Blue Moon Door. Enter the area and drop down to locate another hidden cave entrance. This path leads directly into the Snowcap Blue Moon Astral Cavern.

Abyssal Zenith Astral Cavern Location

The Abyssal Zenith Astral Cavern is one of the more difficult Astral Observatory locations to reach because you need to travel through the underwater areas of Fisch. First, prepare your Submarine and enter Mariana’s Veil. From there, locate the main Abyssal Zenith Pool positioned near the edge of the area.

Dive into the pool and search around the bottom for a dark opening at approximately GPS (-13774, -11179, 173). This underwater opening leads into the secret Astral Cavern. Once inside, you can fish for several species that cannot be obtained from the other Observatory locations.

Everturn Forest Astral Cavern Location

The Everturn Forest Astral Cavern is hidden inside the Everturn Forest area. The easiest way to reach the region is to follow the on-screen location marker until you arrive at the forest. Once there, make your way toward the center of the area where you can find the Everturn Forest pond and waterfall.

The area is located around GPS (2466, 140, -2618). Look for an opening on the left side of the pond or waterfall area. Enter through this opening to reach the hidden Astral Cavern. This location contains several Astral Observatory fish, including some higher-rarity catches.

How to Catch the Astral Observatory Fish

Completing the Astral Observatory Bestiary requires more than simply finding every fishing pool. Many fish have specific requirements involving bait, weather, season, and time. Because of this, it is worth preparing your fishing equipment before visiting each location. The following list contains the fish information provided for the Bestiary, organized by location and rarity.

Boreal Hollow Fish

Boreal Hollow has a good mixture of species, making it one of the most important locations to visit when completing the Astral Observatory Bestiary. Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern Fish

The Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern contains a smaller group of catches, but you still need to visit this hidden location to make progress toward the complete Bestiary. Its fish use different bait and environmental requirements, so check the conditions before spending too much time fishing. The location also contains an Exotic material-like catch that uses Magnet bait.

Snowcap Blue Moon Astral Cavern Fish

The Snowcap Blue Moon Astral Cavern has several unique catches, but reaching the area is only part of the challenge. Tips for Completing the Astral Observatory Bestiary

The Astral Observatory Bestiary can take longer than a normal Bestiary because you are constantly moving between different locations and waiting for specific fishing conditions. Planning your trips around the requirements can save a lot of time, especially when hunting Legendary, Mythical, Exotic, and Secret catches.

Keep these tips in mind:

  • Bring several types of bait before starting your fishing sessions.
  • Use the GPS coordinates to locate hidden entrances more quickly.
  • Bring an Advanced Glider when visiting areas that require climbing.
  • Check the current season before targeting seasonal fish.
  • Pay attention to the weather before starting a long fishing session.
  • Many valuable catches require nighttime fishing.
  • Use Magnet bait for several Exotic and Secret catches.
  • Complete multiple fish from the same location before moving to another area.
  • Save seasonal requirements for when the correct season naturally appears if you do not have a way to change it.

The Astral Observatory Bestiary is designed around exploration as much as fishing. Instead of staying at one island, you need to discover hidden caves and special pools across Boreal Hollow, Northern Expedition, Snowcap Island, Abyssal Zenith, and Everturn Forest. The biggest challenge is usually matching each fish with its required bait, weather, season, and time.

Start with the locations that are easiest for you to access, then work through the more complicated areas such as the Snowcap Blue Moon and Abyssal Zenith Astral Caverns. With the right preparation, you can gradually complete the Astral Observatory Bestiary without repeatedly traveling back and forth across the map.
