All Monsters in Wonderland and How to Survive Them
Escaping Wonderland is your main goal after waking up inside the hospital. To find the exits across its different levels, you need to collect Lumens and feed them to Zippy. The problem is that Wonderland is filled with strange monsters that can make your escape much harder. Some creatures simply follow their own patterns, while others actively hunt players because Wonder does not want anyone leaving Wonderland.
Knowing what each monster does is important because many of them have specific ways to avoid or escape their attacks. This guide covers all of the known Wonderland monsters, including their abilities, behavior, and the best ways to survive encounters with them.
How to Survive Monsters in Wonderland
Most Wonderland monsters have a specific weakness or behavior that you can learn. Instead of treating every creature the same way, pay attention to what triggers its attack. A few general survival tips can make your runs much easier:
- Learn which monsters should be fought and which should simply be avoided.
- Keep your Hammer or another weapon available when entering dangerous areas.
- Watch your surroundings instead of focusing only on collecting Lumens.
- Use obstacles and corners to break enemy sightlines.
- Do not interact with suspicious objects unless you know what they do.
- Complete quick-time events carefully when a monster catches you.
- Keep moving when facing chase-based monsters.
- Remember important escape routes before entering dangerous areas.
- Avoid unnecessary fights when your health is already low.
All Wonderland Monsters
The monsters in Wonderland can be separated into four main groups: Mascots, Clowns, Dolls, and Miscellaneous. Friendly characters such as Zippy and Wormy are not included because they do not act as enemies.
Learning the behavior of each creature can save you from losing health or getting caught during a run. Some monsters are easy to avoid if you understand their patterns, while others require quick reactions when they catch you.
1. Mascots
The Mascots are some of the most important creatures in Wonderland. This group includes Wonder, the creator of Wonderland, and Wander, his wife. Their appearances are closely connected to the story and some encounters involving them work differently from normal monster chases.
Wonder
Wonder is the creator of Wonderland and one of the most important threats you will encounter. One of his major encounters involves the Health Pad, where he can kill you when the timer reaches its end.
The best way to survive this encounter is to pay attention to where Wonder appears and react quickly when he emerges.
How to survive Wonder:
- Run toward the hat he came out of.
- Jump into the hat to escape.
- The hat can be found near the Shop during the encounter.
- Do not waste time when the Health Pad timer is running out.
Wander
Wander is Wonder’s wife and can chase players during encounters. She becomes especially dangerous during the boss fight involving both characters.
During the fight, Wonder can spin Wander around while she attacks players using her cosmic powers. Fortunately, they usually freeze for a short period after performing an attack.
This brief opening gives you a chance to fight back.
How to survive Wander:
- Watch for her attacks during the boss fight.
- Wait for Wander and Wonder to freeze after an attack.
- Hit them with a weapon while they are stunned.
- Use the Hammer if you have obtained it.
- The Hammer can be acquired from the machine by activating the levers in the boss fight area.
2. Clowns
The Clown category contains several dangerous enemies with completely different attack patterns. Some rely on speed, while others become dangerous when you get too close.
Understanding their trigger conditions is especially important because accidentally approaching one can turn a safe area into a chase.
Jester
Jester is one of the faster monsters in Wonderland. He can move quickly, teleport toward players, and use his tongue to grab you.
If Jester catches you, you need to complete a quick-time event to escape. A circle appears with a red section and a pointer, with the letter E displayed in the center.
How to survive Jester:
- Keep your distance whenever possible.
- Run away when he approaches.
- If he grabs you, watch the pointer.
- Press E when the pointer enters the red section.
- Time your input carefully to escape.
Clown
Clown has two different forms: Normal and Nightmare. In his normal state, he appears as a clown inside a box and wanders around the map. He becomes much more dangerous when players get too close.
Staying near him for more than a couple of seconds can trigger his Nightmare form. In this state, he moves on all fours and becomes much harder to escape from.
How to survive Clown:
- Avoid getting close to him.
- Do not stay around him for more than a few seconds.
- Give him plenty of space when passing through an area.
- If he enters Nightmare form, run immediately.
- Avoid situations where you can become trapped in a small area.
Tiltjack
Tiltjack rides around Wonderland on a unicycle while carrying a bloody hammer. He is extremely dangerous because he can kill players who enter his line of sight.
If Tiltjack notices you, hiding is usually safer than trying to run directly in front of him.
How to survive Tiltjack:
- Stay out of his line of sight.
- Hide when he spots you.
- Use obstacles and corners to break his view of you.
- If he catches you, repeatedly press E to escape.
3. Dolls
The Dolls are another dangerous group of Wonderland monsters. Their designs may look unusual, but they can be extremely aggressive when they detect a player.
Alice, Smiley, and Ballerina each have different mechanics, so learning their individual behaviors is important.
Alice
Alice is a dangerous doll who carries a pair of oversized scissors. She is also Ballerina’s sister and enjoys attacking players.
Once she spots you, she will chase and attack, meaning your first priority should be getting away and finding somewhere safe to hide.
Alice can also become stunned when she runs into an obstacle. This gives you an opportunity to escape or attack her.
How to survive Alice:
- Run as soon as she notices you.
- Hide when you get out of her immediate path.
- Use obstacles to make her collide with something.
- Take advantage of the stun after she hits an obstacle.
- A Hammer can also be used to kill her if you have one.
Smiley
Smiley is a small thief that can steal your Lumens. The creature becomes aggressive if you try to take your Lumens back, chasing and attacking you.
Because Lumens are important for progression, losing them can be frustrating. However, approaching Smiley recklessly can make the situation worse.
How to survive Smiley:
- Avoid getting too close.
- Be careful when trying to recover stolen Lumens.
- If you need to fight it, the Hammer can kill Smiley after around two or three hits.
- Do not let Smiley corner you.
Ballerina
Ballerina is a doll armed with a katana and has one particularly dangerous trick: she can teleport behind players before attacking.
This makes checking your surroundings extremely important. If she catches you, you will have to complete a quick-time event by pressing E repeatedly without making a mistake.
How to survive Ballerina:
- Frequently check behind you.
- Stay alert when moving through areas where she can appear.
- If she catches you, press E repeatedly.
- Avoid missing the quick-time inputs.
- Keep moving instead of standing still for too long.
4. Miscellaneous Monsters
The Miscellaneous category contains several creatures that do not fit into the Mascot, Clown, or Doll groups. Many of these enemies are not as immediately deadly as Wonder or some of the other major monsters, but they can still drain a large amount of health.
Some of them are also environmental threats, meaning knowing what not to interact with can be just as important as knowing how to fight.
Bunny
Bunny hides behind fake doors and waits for players to open them. There are clues that can help you identify these doors before making a mistake.
You can check the map to determine whether a door actually leads to a room. A fake door does not have a room behind it, and opening one causes the door to take on a rusty appearance.
How to survive Bunny:
- Check the map before opening suspicious doors.
- Do not open doors that do not lead to a room.
- Listen for strange or unusual sounds coming from behind doors.
- Avoid interacting with suspicious rusty doors.
Gnome
Gnome looks like a small creature wrapped in a blanket. Although it may not look particularly threatening at first, bothering it causes it to transform into a spider.
The safest strategy is simply to leave it alone. Getting in its way can create an unnecessary encounter.
How to survive Gnome:
- Do not touch it.
- Stay outside its line of sight.
- Avoid blocking its path.
- Give it enough space to move around.
Mole
Mole is a creature wearing three tragedy masks and appears during the second level. Unlike enemies that can sometimes be avoided by hiding, Mole is primarily a chase threat.
Once it starts pursuing you, focus on reaching safety rather than trying to fight it unnecessarily.
How to survive Mole:
- Run away as soon as the chase begins.
- Do not allow it to catch you.
- Keep moving toward the exit.
- Avoid getting trapped in dead ends.
Balloon
Balloon appears as a boy wearing a yellow raincoat, although his head is made up of balloons. He can appear directly at the player’s location and force the screen to look toward him.
The safest response is to avoid looking at him. You can usually tell when he leaves because you may hear a crying sound or another noise indicating that the encounter is over.
How to survive Balloon:
- Do not look directly at him.
- Follow the forced camera behavior carefully.
- Wait for the encounter to end.
- Listen for the sound that indicates he has disappeared.
Coaster Angel
Coaster Angel appears around the roller coaster stage. Unlike some monsters that focus on chasing players, this creature attacks and reduces your health.
If you have a weapon available, you can fight back rather than simply trying to avoid it.
How to survive Coaster Angel:
- Be careful when entering the roller coaster area.
- Keep your weapon ready.
- Attack it when you have a safe opportunity.
- It can be killed with a weapon and will pop like a balloon.
Owl
Owl looks like a robotic owl and has a dangerous ranged attack. When you approach it, Owl can stare at you for several seconds before a rifle emerges from its mouth.
This makes approaching the creature especially risky. Staying out of its sight is generally the safest option.
How to survive Owl:
- Avoid approaching it.
- Stay outside its line of sight.
- Do not stand directly in front of it.
- Move away if it begins staring at you.
Bomb
Bomb is a straightforward but dangerous enemy that follows the player before exploding after a short amount of time.
Because it has a delayed attack, your best option is to use the time available to create distance.
How to survive Bomb:
- Run away when it starts following you.
- Create as much distance as possible.
- Do not allow it to stay close for too long.
- Keep moving until the explosion happens.
Wonderland is dangerous because its monsters do not all behave in the same way. Some will chase you, others rely on surprise attacks, while certain creatures can be avoided simply by understanding their triggers.
The safest way to progress is to learn each monster’s behavior before trying to fight it. Keep your distance from creatures such as Jester, Clown, Tiltjack, Ballerina, and Owl, while using weapons against enemies that can be safely defeated. Most importantly, keep collecting Lumens, feed Zippy, and focus on finding the exits so you can finally escape Wonderland.
