The lore in Animal Hospital continues to expand with new characters, strange events, and hidden story scenes. One of the NPCs connected to this mystery is Liz, who has her own questline that eventually leads to a secret visit to her house. However, you cannot access this interaction immediately. You first need to finish Liz’s original requests and survive enough shifts before the next part of her story becomes available.
How to Complete Liz’s Quest
When Liz first appears in Animal Hospital, she will ask you to photograph a specific patient. She gives you the patient’s name before leaving, but you do not have to worry if you forget it because the name is also written on a Post-it note on the wall.
There is an important detail to remember here: you only get one chance to photograph the correct patient. If you take a picture of the wrong person, Liz will return, realize that the photo is incorrect, take her camera, and leave.
Liz’s photography quest requires you to repeat this process four times. The targets are usually strange Anomalies that may not look unusual through the normal camera. You do not need to accept these characters as patients. Instead, identify the correct name and take their picture before sending them away.
Each time Liz gives you another name, carefully check the patient name tags. Missing the correct Anomaly can cause you to fail that part of the quest.
After you finish all four photography requests, Liz will eventually return and thank you. She explains that her photographs were successfully published. This looks like the end of her story at first, but there is still another Liz interaction to unlock.
How to Unlock Liz’s House Interaction
Finishing the photography quest alone is not enough. You also need to survive through enough shifts before Liz’s next event becomes available.
You need to reach at least 15 Shifts, although the interaction will realistically happen around 17 Shifts. Because of this, surviving for as long as possible should become your main priority once Liz’s original questline is complete.
One useful way to improve your chances is to hire Sam as soon as you can. Sam can help deal with several dangerous situations around the hospital, including fires, Slime, and certain Anomalies such as Hiders.
You should also work on Barney’s questline while progressing through your shifts. Give Barney coffee when requested, collect his suitcase, provide him with a scalpel, and eventually allow him to hide inside your office.
Protecting Barney through his questline can reward you with another coffee pot. This is useful because coffee helps restore Sanity, giving you another resource to rely on during longer runs.
Once Liz appears again, she will thank you for helping her with the photographs. She will then mention that she has something else she wants to show you.
When given the choice, select the first option. After completing another shift, the game will trigger a cutscene that takes you to Liz’s house.
What Happens at Liz’s House
Liz will give you a tour of her home when you arrive. One of the first useful things you should look for is the pizza sitting on the table.
Make sure to grab a slice because the pizza can restore around 50 Sanity. You can eat multiple slices separately, so it is better to save them for moments when your Sanity is getting low rather than using everything immediately.
The house also contains several important clues about the larger Animal Hospital mystery.
Liz has a whiteboard covered with newspaper clippings and information about the hospital. The material focuses on the strange Anomalies appearing around the facility and the fact that patients continue returning while seemingly becoming worse over time.
This reveals that Liz’s photography investigation was connected to something much bigger.
Liz also explains that the Anomalies are not simply caused by an outbreak. According to what she has discovered, their appearances are scheduled, suggesting that someone or something may be deliberately controlling when these events happen.
Ratthew’s Secret Recording
During the visit, Liz receives another unexpected visitor: Ratthew.
Ratthew is suspicious of people carrying suitcases and talks about his exploration of the hospital’s vents. He also has a recording of what he discovered.
You can watch the recording by putting the tape into the television inside Liz’s house. The footage provides additional hints about the hospital and appears to tease some of the story content that could be explored in future lore updates.
This makes the Liz House sequence more than just a character interaction. It provides several clues about what could eventually happen inside the hospital.
The Secret Agent Encounter
The visit to Liz’s house does not last very long.
After Ratthew’s appearance, another person arrives at the door. The character resembles the Secret Agent but uses the Agent R skin.
Liz immediately realizes that something is wrong and tells you to run. The scene then ends with your character being teleported back to the hospital, allowing you to continue playing normally.
Although the sequence is short, it is one of the more interesting pieces of Animal Hospital’s current lore because it connects Liz’s investigation with other mysterious characters.
What Is Behind the Closed Door?
There is another mystery connected to the Liz House interaction: the closed door beside Room 6, located near the store.
At the moment, there is no known method to open this door during normal gameplay. It remains inaccessible, which has naturally led to plenty of speculation about what could be hidden behind it.
The map shown inside Liz’s house adds even more mystery. It appears to represent the Animal Hospital, with several locations marked using question marks. Some of these unexplained areas could potentially be connected to locations that players cannot currently access.
The door may become important in a future lore update, but there is currently no confirmed way to enter the area.
Unlocking Liz’s House in Animal Hospital requires more than simply completing her photography requests. You need to finish all four parts of her original quest, survive at least 15 shifts, and continue progressing until Liz returns with another request. Choosing the first dialogue option will eventually lead to the Liz House cutscene after another shift.
Once inside, make sure to explore the apartment, collect the pizza, inspect the lore clues, and watch Ratthew’s recording. The visit gives players several hints about the Anomalies and the bigger mystery surrounding the hospital, while the closed door near Room 6 remains one of the major unanswered questions for future updates.
