How to Get Shabon Hamon Fast in Bridger: Western Guide

Shabon Hamon, also known as Bubble Hamon, is a special ability that requires several materials and a short minigame before you can unlock it. The process can take some time if you do not know where to find everything, but the quest becomes much easier when you follow the correct route. Here is a full guide covering Zeppeli’s location, all required materials, the Soap Station, and how to beat the minigame.

Shabon Hamon Requirements

For a quick checklist, make sure you have all of these before attempting the final stage:

  • 1 Vampire Fang
  • 5 Undead Ashes
  • 5 Crocodile Fat
  • 1 Sunbus Leaf
  • 1 Dogbane Herb
  • 1 Deer Heart Root
  • 1 Hawkeye Herb
  • 1 Hellfire Sprout
  • 1 Reservoir Root
  • 1 Turtle Shell Stem
  • Poaching Blade
  • Rainy weather

You also need to successfully complete the Soap Station minigame with at least 20 points.

Find Zeppeli at the Oasis Hut

The first thing you need to do is find Zeppeli at the Oasis Hut. The Oasis is located next to the Greenlands, toward the edge of the map. The Oasis Hut itself is positioned in the corner of the area, so you may need to travel a little farther than expected.

Once you reach the Oasis Hut, speak with Zeppeli to start the Shabon Hamon quest. Before he gives you the rest of the requirements, you need to bring him a Vampire Fang.

If you do not have one yet, you can get a Vampire Fang by defeating a Vampire with a Kill Streak of two or higher. The Fang is fairly easy to obtain once you find the correct Vampire, so this should be the quickest part of the quest.

Collect 5 Undead Ashes

After obtaining the Vampire Fang and starting Zeppeli’s quest, you will need to collect five Undead Ashes.

Undead Ashes can be obtained by killing Zombies with fire. The easiest method is to use Molotovs because they can set Zombies on fire and allow you to collect the required material while dealing damage over time.

You can make the process faster by gathering several Zombies together before throwing the Molotov. If you have the Pyromaniac trait, this can make things even easier because you can move around the burning area without worrying as much about the flames.

Keep defeating burning Zombies until you have all five Undead Ashes.

Get the Poaching Blade

Another required material comes from Crocodiles, but you cannot simply collect it by defeating them. You first need the Poaching Blade.

The Poaching Blade can be purchased from an NPC located in a tower near the Outlaw Camp. The tower is around the area near the Tackle Bait Shop, making it fairly easy to find if you are already exploring the Outlaw area.

Speak with the NPC and purchase the blade. It costs around $200, so you should not need a huge amount of money to get it.

Once you have the Poaching Blade, you are ready to hunt Crocodiles.

Collect 5 Crocodile Fat

Crocodiles can be found in the Swamp, and they generally spawn during the daytime. They can appear in groups, which makes the farming process much faster when several are available at once.

Defeat the Crocodiles first, then use the Poaching Blade on their bodies. Interacting with them triggers a short quick-time event, after which you can collect materials such as Crocodile Fat.

Repeat this process until you have:

  • 5 Crocodile Fat

You can also collect other materials from Crocodiles while farming, but the important item for the Shabon Hamon quest is the Crocodile Fat.

Collect All 7 Herbs

The final material requirement is the longest part of the preparation. You need to collect all seven herbs available for the quest.

The required herbs are:

  • Sunbus Leaf
  • Dogbane Herb
  • Deer Heart Root
  • Hawkeye Herb
  • Hellfire Sprout
  • Reservoir Root
  • Turtle Shell Stem

You need one of each herb, so make sure you have the complete set before heading to the final location.

It is a good idea to check your inventory before traveling to the Soap Station. Missing even one herb means you will have to leave the area and search for the missing ingredient before you can finish the quest.

Find the Soap Station in Outlaw Hills

After collecting the Vampire Fang, Undead Ashes, Crocodile Fat, and all seven herbs, head toward Outlaw Hills.

Follow the route toward the area where the One Course Part can spawn. As you move through the hills, look for a small mountain section that leads upward.

The Soap Station is located near the top of this area. It is essentially a small pot-like station, and it is the only station used for creating Shabon Hamon.

If you have already progressed far enough through Zeppeli’s quest, you should also see an objective marker pointing you toward the location.

Wait for Rain

There is one very important requirement before you can complete the final part of the quest:

It must be raining.

You cannot obtain Shabon Hamon from the Soap Station if the required weather condition is not active. If you arrive at the location and it is not raining, you will need to wait for the weather to change before continuing.

Because of this, it is better to gather all of your materials first and only make the trip to the Soap Station when you are ready.

Add the 7 Herbs to the Soap Station

Once it is raining, interact with the Soap Station and place one of each of the seven required herbs inside.

The herbs are:

  • Sunbus Leaf
  • Dogbane Herb
  • Deer Heart Root
  • Hawkeye Herb
  • Hellfire Sprout
  • Reservoir Root
  • Turtle Shell Stem

The station should show your progress as you add each ingredient. Make sure all seven herbs have been added before starting the next step.

Once the ingredients are complete, you can begin the Shabon Hamon minigame.

Complete the Shabon Hamon Minigame

After putting all seven herbs into the Soap Station, press E to start the minigame. This is arguably the hardest part of the entire quest. You need to control your cursor and keep it in the correct position while the minigame is running.

You need to score at least 20 points to successfully complete it. If you score below 20, you will need to try again. The controls can feel difficult at first, especially because the cursor can move away from where you want it. Do not worry if your first attempt goes badly. The minigame takes some practice to understand.

How to Get 20 Points Easily

The most useful tip for the minigame is to move your cursor in the opposite direction of its movement. This helps you correct the cursor and keep it closer to the middle.

Try not to make huge movements. Small adjustments are easier to control and give you a better chance of keeping the cursor in the right area.

A few things to remember:

  • Try to keep the cursor near the middle.
  • Make small movements instead of sudden ones.
  • Move against the direction the cursor is drifting.
  • Do not panic when the movement becomes faster.
  • Practice if your first attempt fails.
  • You only need 20 points to complete the requirement.

Once you understand how the movement works, the minigame becomes much easier.

Receive Shabon Hamon

After reaching at least 20 points, the quest will be completed and you will obtain Shabon Hamon, also known as Bubble Hamon.

You will be transported back toward the Oasis Hut after completing the minigame. From there, you can begin training and using your newly unlocked ability.

The entire process can seem complicated at first because you need several different materials, a specific weather condition, and the minigame. However, once you know the route, you can prepare everything in advance and finish the quest much faster.

Getting Shabon Hamon in Bridger: Western requires a few different steps, but the quest is manageable once you know where to go. Start by finding Zeppeli at the Oasis Hut, then collect the Vampire Fang, five Undead Ashes, five Crocodile Fat, and all seven required herbs.

After gathering everything, head to the Soap Station in Outlaw Hills and wait for rain. Add each herb to the station and start the minigame by pressing E. Reach at least 20 points, and you will complete the quest and unlock Shabon Hamon.

The minigame is the part most likely to cause problems, so focus on keeping your cursor near the center and make small corrections in the opposite direction of its movement. Once you get used to it, unlocking Bubble Hamon becomes much faster.
