The Hungry Monster Event is a limited-time event in Steal an Egg where you can collect special rewards by feeding Infested Eggs to a Hungry Monster. If you want to get the event-exclusive Monster Egg and other useful rewards, you will need to find and collect enough Infested Eggs before the event ends.
The event is scheduled to leave the game with the next update on September 5, 2026, so there is limited time to complete it. Here is everything you need to know about finding Infested Eggs, feeding the Hungry Monster, and getting Monster Chests.
What Is the Hungry Monster Event in Steal an Egg?
The Hungry Monster Event adds a Hungry Monster to the pen area. Your goal is to find special Infested Eggs around different biomes and feed them to the Monster. Each Infested Egg fills 20% of the Monster’s hunger. This means you need to feed it five Infested Eggs to completely fill the hunger bar.
Once the Hungry Monster reaches 100%, you receive one Monster Chest. After claiming the chest, you can immediately start feeding the Monster again to earn another one. The Monster Chest can contain several different rewards:
- 1.25x Egg Growth for 5 minutes – 43.5% chance
- 1.25x Speed for 5 minutes – 30% chance
- 2x Treadmill Speed for 5 minutes – 20% chance
- Flyswatter – 5% chance
- Monstrous Egg – 1.5% chance
The Monstrous Egg is the rarest reward, so you may need to open multiple Monster Chests if you are trying to obtain it.
How to Get Infested Eggs in Steal an Egg
Infested Eggs can randomly appear in several different biomes. You need to find these eggs, successfully steal them, and then take them back to the Hungry Monster.
Infested Eggs can appear in:
- Snow
- Volcano
- Abyss Ocean
- Prehistoric
- Cosmic
- Cherry Blossom
- Titan Temple
The eggs are not guaranteed to appear every time. When the eggs reset, a random number of them can become Infested. To identify an Infested Egg, look for purple parasites sitting on top of the egg. These parasites are the easiest way to tell whether an egg can be used for the Hungry Monster Event. Once you find one, steal it successfully and bring it back to your pen.
How Many Infested Eggs Do You Need?
Each Infested Egg gives the Hungry Monster 20% hunger.
Therefore, you need:
- 1 Infested Egg = 20%
- 2 Infested Eggs = 40%
- 3 Infested Eggs = 60%
- 4 Infested Eggs = 80%
- 5 Infested Eggs = 100%
After feeding five Infested Eggs, the Hungry Monster will give you a Monster Chest. The biome where you find the egg does not affect how much hunger it provides. Every Infested Egg gives the same 20% progress.
How to Feed the Hungry Monster
Once you successfully steal an Infested Egg, you can feed it to the Hungry Monster.
Follow these steps:
- Equip the Infested Egg from your inventory.
- Return to your pen.
- Walk into the circle underneath the Hungry Monster.
- On PC, press and hold E to feed it.
- On Mobile, press and hold the Feed Parasite button.
- Continue feeding until the hunger bar reaches 100%.
After the fifth egg, the Hungry Monster will reward you with a Monster Chest.
Be Careful When Feeding Eggs
Feeding the Hungry Monster permanently removes the Infested Egg from your inventory. Because of this, make sure you are using an egg that you actually want to spend on the event.
Do not accidentally equip and feed a valuable or rare egg that you intended to keep.
Before holding the Feed button, double-check the egg you have equipped. This is especially important if you are carrying multiple rare eggs.
How to Get Monster Pets
If your main goal is to collect the special Monster pets, you need to repeatedly complete the Hungry Monster feeding process.
The basic farming loop is:
- Search the available biomes for Infested Eggs.
- Identify the eggs with purple parasites.
- Successfully steal the Infested Eggs.
- Bring them back to your pen.
- Feed five Infested Eggs to the Hungry Monster.
- Open the Monster Chest.
- Repeat the process for another chest.
Since the Monstrous Egg has a 1.5% chance, getting it can take multiple attempts. Keep farming the event while it is available if you want to improve your chances of obtaining the rare reward.
When Does the Hungry Monster Event End?
The Hungry Monster Event is a limited-time event and is scheduled to be removed with the next update on September 5, 2026. This means you should prioritize the event if you want its exclusive rewards. Once the event is removed, you may no longer be able to obtain its rewards through the same method.
The Hungry Monster Event is a simple but useful farming event in Steal an Egg. Find Infested Eggs, bring them back to your pen, and feed five of them to the Hungry Monster to receive a Monster Chest.
The main target for collectors is the Monstrous Egg, which has a 1.5% drop chance from Monster Chests. Since the event is scheduled to end on September 5, 2026, make sure to spend your time farming Infested Eggs before the event disappears. Remember to check the egg you have equipped before feeding the Monster, as the Infested Egg will be consumed when you use it.
