Legacy Piece has added another character from Limbus Company in its latest update, and this time the focus is on Araya. While Rian has its own lengthy unlock process, Araya follows a different questline that takes you through the Graveyard Island, Abandoned Estate, and Time Safe dungeon.
Getting Araya requires defeating a large number of enemies, taking down the Araya boss, and farming several special materials. You will also need the Pinky Nurse Father title before you can purchase the weapon that unlocks the character. This guide covers every step needed to obtain Araya, along with an explanation of her passive and how her combat mechanics work.

How to Start the Araya Quest in Legacy Piece
To begin the Araya questline, head to Graveyard Island. The NPC connected to Araya can be found toward the back of the island. Once you locate the NPC, interact with them and select the “I Will Find Your Moment” option.
This starts the questline and gives you your first objective. The first mission is relatively easy compared with the later parts of the quest. You need to defeat 180 Echoes of Spider House inside the Abandoned Estate dungeon.
Defeat 180 Echoes of Spider House
After accepting the quest, interact with the NPC again to access the option to teleport to the Abandoned Estate. Your objective here is to defeat a total of 180 Echoes of Spider House. There is no complicated mechanic involved in this part, making it a good opportunity to use auto-play.
If your character is strong enough to defeat the enemies in one hit, you can simply turn on auto replay and allow the dungeon to run until you have defeated enough enemies. A simple approach is:
- Travel to Graveyard Island.
- Find the Araya quest NPC.
- Select I Will Find Your Moment.
- Accept the first quest.
- Teleport to Abandoned Estate.
- Defeat 180 Echoes of Spider House.
- Use auto replay if your character can clear the enemies quickly.
- Finish the quest to unlock the next objective.
Once the required number of enemies has been defeated, the next quest will automatically become available.
Defeat Araya in Time Safe Dungeon
The next objective sends you to the Time Safe Dungeon, where you need to defeat the Araya boss. Return to the same NPC and use the teleport option to enter the Time Safe dungeon.
This fight is considerably more difficult than the first quest because Araya can deal enough damage to kill your character. For that reason, choosing the right difficulty and paying attention to defensive mechanics is important.
For an easier clear, the recommended setup is:
- Play on Easy difficulty.
- Enable Auto Observation.
- Make sure your character has enough survivability.
- Avoid unnecessary deaths during the fight.
Be Careful With Deaths in Time Safe
One of the most annoying mechanics of the Araya fight is what happens when you die. Every time your character dies, the dungeon’s remaining time is reduced by half. This can quickly turn a manageable fight into a failed run if you die multiple times.
Because of this, simply relying on damage is not always enough. You need to stay alive long enough to finish the boss before the timer becomes too short. Auto Observation can help you react to attacks, but you should still pay attention to the battle if your character is struggling to survive.
Farm Araya Boss Materials
Defeating Araya once does not immediately unlock the character. After completing the boss quest, you receive another objective requiring several materials and rewards. These items are obtained from the Araya boss in Time Safe Dungeon, meaning you will need to repeat the dungeon several times.
The required items include:
- 1 Thread of the Past
- 1 Thread of the Present
- 1 Thread of the Future
- 1 Unsevered Thread
- 15 Time Safe Cores
- Pinky Nurse Father title
The exact farming time will depend on your drop luck and how quickly your character can clear the dungeon.
How to Get the Pinky Nurse Father Title
The Pinky Nurse Father title is another requirement for unlocking Araya.
Like the other materials, it is obtained through the Araya boss and Time Safe dungeon progression. You should continue farming the dungeon until you have collected the required Threads, Time Safe Cores, and the title.
Because you need multiple items from the same boss, it is more efficient to keep farming Time Safe rather than repeatedly switching between different activities.
Purchase the Araya Weapon
Once you have collected all of the required materials and obtained the Pinky Nurse Father title, return to the NPC on Graveyard Island. At this point, you can purchase the required weapon from the NPC. After obtaining the weapon, Araya becomes available. So, the overall process is:
- Start the quest on Graveyard Island.
- Complete the 180 Echoes of Spider House objective.
- Defeat Araya in Time Safe Dungeon.
- Farm Araya for the required Threads.
- Collect 15 Time Safe Cores.
- Obtain the Pinky Nurse Father title.
- Return to the NPC.
- Purchase the Araya weapon.
- Unlock Araya.
Araya Base Moveset
Araya comes with a unique set of abilities that fit the character’s theme. The base moveset already provides several interesting attacks, but the most important part of the character is the large passive system attached to it.
Legacy Piece has been putting more focus on unique passives and enchantments, and Araya is another example of this approach. Her passive introduces a stage system that changes how her abilities perform as you continue attacking.
How Araya’s Passive Works
Araya’s passive progresses through four stages. Using skills allows you to advance through these stages, with each stage providing additional effects. One of the main benefits comes from direct hits. Each direct hit provides 4% bonus damage per stage, with the effect reaching a maximum of 16% bonus damage at Stage 4. Advancing through the stages also provides defensive benefits. The passive provides:
- 4% bonus damage per stage from direct hits.
- Up to 16% bonus damage at four stages.
- A shield worth 3% of maximum HP per stage.
- 7.5% reduced damage over time per stage.
- Additional mechanics involving critical hits.
- A special finisher system.
- Permanent Shin after reaching Stage 4.
This makes stage management an important part of Araya’s combat style.
Araya’s Shield Mechanic
Every time you advance a stage, Araya receives a shield based on her maximum health. The shield is worth 3% of maximum HP per stage. As a result, reaching higher stages gives Araya additional protection while also increasing her offensive potential.
However, there is an important risk attached to the shield. If the shield breaks while you are at Stage 3 or Stage 4, Araya will collapse. This means players need to be careful when pushing the passive to its highest stages. The additional damage and defensive benefits are useful, but losing the shield at the wrong time can punish you heavily.
Critical Hit Marks
Araya’s passive also interacts with critical hits. When Araya lands a critical hit, the target becomes marked. Her next skill can then detonate these marks to deal additional damage. This creates another layer to the character’s rotation. Instead of simply using skills as soon as they become available, you can try to use critical hits to prepare targets before following up with another ability. The mechanic rewards players who can maintain a consistent skill rotation and take advantage of the marks at the right time.
D-Hoyer Charge and Finisher
Critical hits also contribute toward D-Hoyer charge. Every fourth skill can trigger a finisher, with the finisher becoming empowered when the charge reaches 50 or more. This gives Araya another long-term combat mechanic to manage. You need to continue using skills and landing critical hits to build the charge before getting the stronger version of the finisher. For players who enjoy characters with more complicated ability rotations, this system can make Araya more interesting than a basic damage-focused character.
Araya Stage 4 Shin Effect
Reaching Stage 4 provides one of Araya’s strongest benefits. Once Stage 4 is reached, the Shin effect becomes permanent until you die. This gives Araya a major advantage during extended fights, particularly when you can maintain your health and avoid the shield-breaking collapse mechanic. Because the effect lasts until death, staying alive becomes even more important once you have reached the final stage.
Is Araya Worth Getting?
Araya looks like a strong option for players who enjoy characters with layered mechanics rather than simple ability rotations. Her passive combines offensive bonuses, shields, damage-over-time resistance, critical-hit marks, charge building, finishers, and the permanent Shin effect. However, those advantages come with risks, especially when the shield breaks at Stage 3 or Stage 4.
Players who can manage the stage system and keep landing their attacks should be able to get much more value from Araya. The character is also worth collecting if you are a fan of Limbus Company or simply want to complete the latest Legacy Piece additions.
Getting Araya in Legacy Piece requires several dungeon runs, but the quest itself is fairly easy to follow once you know where to go. The main challenge is the Time Safe Dungeon, where dying cuts the remaining dungeon time in half and can make the Araya boss much harder to defeat.
After completing the initial 180-enemy quest, focus on farming Araya for the required Threads, Time Safe Cores, and the Pinky Nurse Father title. Once everything is collected, return to the NPC and purchase the weapon to finally unlock her.
Araya is also one of the more interesting additions because of her four-stage passive. The combination of bonus damage, shields, critical marks, D-Hoyer charge, finishers, and permanent Shin at Stage 4 gives her a distinctive playstyle that rewards players who can manage her mechanics properly.
