Cooking is one of the four Life Skills in Grand Blue. It allows you to turn ingredients into meals that can restore HP and provide useful temporary buffs. Some dishes are especially helpful for activities like Fishing, Mining, Farming, and combat. Unlike some other Life Skills, Cooking has a dedicated location where you prepare your food.
You need to travel to Maple Village and use the kitchen inside the mansion. From there, you can manually select ingredients or use the Cookbook to prepare recipes you have already unlocked. This guide covers how Cooking works, the current recipes, Skill Tree upgrades, milestones, and Cooking Rebirth bonuses.
How to Start Cooking in Grand Blue
Before you can start preparing food, you need to reach Maple Village. Inside the mansion, you will find the kitchen containing the Cooking Station. Interact with the Cooking Station to begin cooking. You can either choose your ingredients manually or open the Cookbook to see the recipes you have already discovered.
Cooking is useful because food can do more than restore HP. Many dishes provide temporary effects that can improve your performance in different parts of the game. For example, some meals increase Mining or Fishing bonuses, while others improve damage, reduce incoming damage, or provide special abilities such as underwater breathing.
How the Cookbook Works
The Cookbook makes it easier to keep track of the recipes you have discovered. While interacting with the Cooking Station, press G to open the Cookbook. Here you can see the food recipes that you have unlocked and check what ingredients are required.
Recipes unlock automatically when you collect the required ingredients. This means you do not necessarily need to discover every recipe manually. Once you have the required ingredients, select the recipe and begin cooking.
