The Fisch Skyrest Update adds several powerful fishing rods and equipment options that are connected to the update’s new questlines, Idol Favor system, weather events, and crafting mechanics. Some rods can be earned directly through quests, while others require you to collect rare materials and complete multiple stages of Skyrest progression.
The main new fishing rods to focus on are the Ancient Idol Rod, Fruitline, Breeze Caster, and Abaia Spite. There is also the Breeze Guster, although this is a harpoon rather than a traditional fishing rod. Each weapon has a different purpose, so knowing how to unlock them can help you decide which Skyrest objectives to prioritize.

How to Reach Skyrest in Fisch
Skyrest is a floating island positioned above the FishFest area. While FishFest is active, you can reach the island by traveling toward the far end of the event area and looking for the waterfall that leads upward.
Climb the waterfall to reach Skyrest. On PC, you can use E to ascend and U to descend while navigating the waterfall. Once you reach the top, you will arrive at the new Skyrest area and can begin its progression system.
Your first stop should be the Keeper of the Sky, who starts the main questline. This storyline eventually introduces Idol Favor, Ancient Idols, Sky Crystals, the giant gate, and several of the update’s major rewards.
How Skyrest Progression Works
Skyrest has several interconnected systems, meaning you cannot immediately obtain every new rod after entering the area. Many of the best rewards are locked behind quests, Idol Favor levels, charms, weather events, and rare fishing materials.
The recommended starting point is the Keeper of the Sky questline. Complete the first Nagi Idol trial, catch 10 fish around Skyrest, and continue increasing your Idol Favor through fishing and Idol trials.
As your Favor level increases, more Sky Crystals and other progression objectives become available. This eventually leads toward the Ancient Idol Rod and the other powerful equipment added in the update.
1. Ancient Idol Rod
The Ancient Idol Rod is one of the most important new rods in the Skyrest Update. Unlike rods that can be obtained from a simple purchase, this one requires you to complete a substantial Idol progression questline.
To begin working toward it, you need to progress through Skyrest and unlock the Ancient Idol Charm system. There are seven main Ancient Idols, and each one provides its own charm after completing its associated trials.
How to Get the Ancient Idol Rod
The Ancient Idol Rod is obtained through Forge Master Torren’s questline. Before completing the quest, you need to meet several requirements:
- Catch 5 Giant fish in Skyrest.
- Unlock all 7 Ancient Idol Charms.
- Complete the required Forge Master Torren progression.
Once everything has been completed, Torren rewards you with the Ancient Idol Rod and 3,000 Idol Favor XP.
There is also additional progression involving the Imperion Idol. Completing the follow-up requirement gives another 5,000 Idol Favor XP and unlocks the Imperion Idol skin for the Ancient Idol Rod.
Ancient Idol Rod Stats
The Ancient Idol Rod has the following base statistics:
- Lure Speed: 80%
- Luck: 165%
- Control: 0.3
- Resilience: 60%
- Max Kg: Infinite
Its infinite maximum weight makes it particularly useful for players looking to catch extremely heavy fish without being restricted by the normal weight limit.
Ancient Idol Rod Passive
The Ancient Idol Rod introduces a unique Golden Blessing and Curse mechanic. During a Golden Blessing, keeping your control bar over the fish gradually fills the blessing meter and provides additional progress based on the fish you’re catching.
The Curse mechanic works differently. When a Curse appears, move the control bar away from the fish until the Curse disappears. Afterward, return the bar to the fish and continue the catch.
The rod can also produce the Petrified mutation, which becomes especially important if you are planning to craft Abaia Spite later.
2. Fruitline Rod
The Fruitline is another major rod available through the Skyrest Update. Instead of focusing entirely on personal fishing performance, this rod has a powerful support mechanic that can benefit other players nearby.
The rod comes from the questline involving Fruit Lover Frank, which begins with a collection challenge.
How to Get the Fruitline
Frank asks you to locate 25 hidden fruits scattered throughout Skyrest. These fruits can be found around buildings, mountains, rooftops, Ancient Idol locations, and other areas of the floating island.
Some of the fruit locations include:
- Behind Frank.
- Around the nearby building.
- Near the Theu Idol.
- Around the Keeper of the Sky.
- On top of a crate.
- Near Elder Ko’s shop.
- Behind Elder Ko’s building.
- Around the Abyssu Idol.
- On the nearby mountain.
- Near the Furu Idol.
- Along the mountain paths.
- Around the central hatch.
- Around the Amanojaku Idol.
- Near Arrow.
- Behind the windmill.
- Around the Goriki Idol.
- Behind the Wish NPC.
- In front of the Keeper of the Sky.
- On various rooftops.
- Around the upper mountain areas.
- Near the Nomi Idol.
- Around the hatch area.
- Near Sun Hat Mio.
- Around the Goriki Idol.
- Outside the chamber near the Lighthouse Crystal.
The final fruit was previously located inside the chamber but has since been moved outside near the Lighthouse Crystal.
After collecting all 25 fruits, return to Frank to receive 536 Idol Favor and unlock the next part of his questline.
Fruity Abaia Quest
Frank’s next objective requires you to collect nine limited Skyrest fish:
- Banana Eel
- Cabana Carp
- Coconut Crabs
- Hammock Halibut
- Pineapple Pufferfish
- Smoothie Stingray
- Sunbed Stingray
- Watermelon Walrus
- Hawaiian Shirt Shark
Once you have one of each, take them to the Fire of Spirits during a Tropical Squall and sacrifice them.
After completing the ritual, you will receive the objective to catch the Fruity Abaia. A Tropical Squall can be activated with a Tropical Squall Totem if you have one.
Catch the Fruity Abaia and return to Frank to finish the quest and unlock the Fruitline.
Fruitline Stats
The Fruitline has these stats:
- Lure Speed: 100%
- Luck: 200%
- Control: 0
- Resilience: 0%
- Max Kg: Infinite
- Progress Speed: +25%
The combination of 200% Luck, infinite weight capacity, and its support passive makes this rod particularly interesting for group fishing.
Fruitline Passive
While fishing with the Fruitline, moving the control bar leaves fruit behind your character. These fruits create a streak that tracks how many you collect.
The fruit remains available for only around five seconds. If you allow it to spoil before collecting it, your current streak is lost.
The rod’s biggest feature is its Fruity Blessing. This grants a 1.1x multiplier to several fishing-related statistics:
- Luck
- Lure
- Strength
- Resilience
- Control
- Progress Speed
- Line Distance
It also makes equipped companions behave as though they are two levels higher.
Even better, nearby players can receive the Fruity Blessing. This makes Fruitline one of the more useful support rods in Skyrest if you’re playing alongside other Fisch players.
3. Breeze Caster
The Breeze Caster is obtained through Arrow’s Swift Winds questline. It is designed around fast control movement and weather-based mechanics.
To start the quest, find Arrow near the Wish NPC and begin the Swift Winds challenge.
How to Get the Breeze Caster
The first requirement is unlocking the Charm of Swiftness from the Hiate Idol. After meeting the initial requirement, Arrow gives you the Cloud Glider.
You then need to:
- Raise the Charm of Swiftness to Level 10.
- Travel 1,000 studs using the Cloud Glider.
- Complete the remaining Swift Winds objectives.
After finishing the requirements, you are given a choice between the Breeze Caster and Breeze Guster.
You can eventually obtain both, but the initial quest requires you to choose one reward.
Breeze Caster Stats
The Breeze Caster has the following stats:
- Lure Speed: 40%
- Luck: 155%
- Control: 0.35
- Resilience: 30%
- Max Kg: 200,000
Its standout feature is its responsive control bar. This allows you to move the bar quickly while fighting fish, making the rod feel considerably more reactive during difficult catches.
Breeze Caster Passive
The Breeze Caster has a weather-based passive. During windy weather, its slash effects become more consistent, giving the rod additional value when the appropriate weather conditions are active.
Because of this mechanic, players who regularly take advantage of Skyrest’s weather events can get more value from the Breeze Caster than they would during normal conditions.
4. Breeze Guster
The Breeze Guster is the alternative reward from Arrow’s Swift Winds quest. It is important to note that this is a harpoon rather than a fishing rod.
If you choose the Breeze Caster first, you can eventually work toward obtaining the Breeze Guster as well.

- Power: 26
- Range: 120 studs
- Reload: 1.20
- Velocity: 65
- Resilience: 40%
- Accuracy: 70%

Like the Breeze Caster, the Breeze Guster also has an effect that interacts with weather conditions. Its slash effect performs differently depending on the active weather.
5. Abaia Spite
Abaia Spite is arguably one of the more involved pieces of equipment to obtain because it requires materials from multiple Skyrest systems. Instead of being handed over as a simple quest reward, this rod must be crafted after gathering several rare components.
Abaia Spite Crafting Requirements
You need the following materials and requirements:
- Squala
- Ancestral Abaia
- Imperion Relic
- Petrified mutation
- 750,000 Cash
Each requirement comes from a different part of the Skyrest progression system.
The Squala is connected to Tropical Squall events, while the Ancestral Abaia is guaranteed during a Raging Squall.
The Imperion Relic can be obtained by fishing in Skyrest, while the Petrified mutation comes from the Ancient Idol Rod.
This means obtaining Abaia Spite is much easier if you work through the Ancient Idol and Skyrest weather systems first.

Once crafted, Abaia Spite has:
- Lure Speed: 110%
- Luck: 180%
- Control: 0.35
- Resilience: 80%
- Max Kg: Infinite
These are strong overall statistics, particularly when combined with its high Lure Speed, Luck, and Resilience.
Abaia Spite Passive
The rod has a unique passive that summons an Abaia into the fishing area. The creature swims around your fishing location and periodically interacts with the bobber.
This adds another layer to the fishing process and gives Abaia Spite its own identity compared with the other Skyrest rods.
Skyrest Rods Compared
If you’re trying to decide which new Skyrest rod to pursue first, each one has a different role.
- Ancient Idol Rod — Best for players focused on Idol progression and unique mutation mechanics.
- Fruitline — Excellent support rod for players who fish with friends or other players.
- Breeze Caster — Good option for responsive fishing and windy-weather mechanics.
- Abaia Spite — A powerful late-game crafting target with strong overall stats.
- Breeze Guster — Useful alternative equipment from Arrow’s quest, but it is a harpoon rather than a fishing rod.
For progression, the Ancient Idol Rod is especially important because its Petrified mutation is required for crafting Abaia Spite.
