Animal Hospital Laboratory Guide, All Serum Recipe and More!
The Second Floor update in Animal Hospital introduces the Laboratory, a new feature that lets you experiment with patient DNA and create unusual serums. Once the Second Floor is unlocked, you can collect DNA samples, process them through the Sequencer, combine ingredients at the Lab Table, and turn successful experiments into usable Glass Vials.
The Laboratory has two main serum types: Pink Serum and Green Serum. Pink Serum can be used on patients and NPCs to trigger strange effects, while Green Serum is consumed by your own character. Since there are many possible DNA combinations, knowing the confirmed recipes can save you from wasting ingredients on unstable experiments.
How to Use the DNA Sampler in Animal Hospital

Creating a serum requires several steps, starting with collecting DNA from a patient and ending with processing the finished experiment through the Vial Press. Each Laboratory machine has a specific purpose, so following the process in the correct order is important.
1. Collect DNA From a Patient
Start by getting the DNA Sampler and using it on a patient who is currently lying on one of the hospital beds. Once the sample has been collected, check its color before heading to the Laboratory.
Normal patients provide pink DNA samples, while anomaly patients provide green DNA samples. The sample color is an important part of the Laboratory system because it determines the type of serum you can create from the experiment.
2. Process the Sample With the Sequencer
Take your collected DNA sample to the Laboratory on the Second Floor and place it inside the Sequencer. This machine prepares the DNA for the next stage of the experiment.
You will need to complete a small minigame during the sequencing process. Follow the required steps correctly so the DNA can be transferred into the dish. Once the sequencing is finished, take the dish to a Lab Table.
3. Add the Correct Ingredients
The Lab Table is where you recreate the DNA sequence using four different ingredients. Each DNA letter corresponds to a specific material, meaning you need to know which ingredient represents each part of the sequence.
- A = Pink Jelly
- C = Ginger
- G = Milk
- T = Purple Mushroom
The order of these ingredients matters. A sequence such as TAG is different from GAT, even though they contain the same three DNA letters. Always follow the recipe in the exact order shown.
If you enter a valid combination, a 30-second timer will begin. Unstable sequences will instead cause the experiment to fail, meaning you will not receive a usable vial.
4. Process the Dish With the Vial Press
After the 30-second process has finished, take the dish to the Vial Press. The machine handles the final part of the process and turns the successful experiment into a Glass Vial.
Check the vial’s color once it has been created. The color indicates whether you have produced a Pink Serum or Green Serum, with each type having a different purpose.
5. Use the Finished Serum
Once you have a serum, you can finally test its effect. Pink Serum is designed to be used on patients, visitors, and other NPCs. Depending on the DNA recipe, the target can experience anything from a visual change to a completely different behavior.
Green Serum works differently because it is consumed by your own character. Drinking one can change your character’s size, appearance, movement, or other conditions depending on the recipe.
All Pink Serum Recipes in Animal Hospital
Pink Serum is mainly used to experiment with patients and NPCs. The effects range from harmless cosmetic changes to effects that can cause complete chaos around the hospital.
Here are all currently confirmed Pink Serum recipes:
- TTT — Turns the patient into a Mimic that attacks.
- AAA — Makes the patient smaller.
- CCC — Causes the patient to produce slime rapidly.
- GGG — Turns the patient into a fish.
- TAG — Makes the patient invisible.
- GAT — Sets the patient on fire.
- AGA — Changes the patient’s eyes. Looking at the eyes causes the player’s sanity to decrease.
- TTC — Makes the patient move more slowly.
- GAC — Causes the patient’s fur color to continuously change.
- CAG — Makes the patient slightly faster.
- TCT — Starts a fire.
- ATT — Starts a fire.
- ACA — Gives the patient or NPC hair.
- CTT — Makes the patient move extremely fast.
- GCG — Makes the patient glow.
Some Pink Serum effects are mostly cosmetic, but others can dramatically change what happens inside the hospital. Testing different recipes on different NPCs can therefore produce some unexpected results.
All Green Serum Recipes in Animal Hospital
Green Serum is made for the player rather than for hospital patients. After creating one, drink the vial to activate the effect associated with its DNA sequence.
These are the currently known Green Serum recipes:
- CGT — Makes the player start dancing.
- ATA — Makes the player smaller.
- ACG — Displays the message “You drank a strange serum”.
- GTG — Turns the player into a ghost.
- CAC — Turns the player into a clown.
- TGC — Gives the player a -5 detection radius effect.
If you are trying to conserve Laboratory materials, it is best to begin with these confirmed recipes rather than testing random combinations.
All Unstable DNA Combinations
Not every three-letter DNA sequence creates a usable serum. Some combinations have already been tested and confirmed to be unstable, causing the experiment to fail before a Glass Vial can be produced.
The currently known unstable combinations are:
- ATA — Unstable
- CAC — Unstable
- CTC — Unstable
- GAG — Unstable
- GTG — Unstable
- TAT — Unstable
- TCT — Unstable
- TGT — Unstable
Keep in mind that this is not necessarily the complete list of combinations that can fail. The Laboratory uses four DNA letters across three positions, creating 64 possible sequences in total. Only part of the full combination pool has been confirmed so far.
Tips for Experimenting With DNA
If you want to discover additional Laboratory recipes, keeping track of every combination you test will make the process much easier. Record successful recipes separately from unstable sequences so you do not accidentally repeat experiments that have already failed.
You should also pay attention to the DNA sample you collect. Normal patients provide pink DNA, while anomaly patients provide green DNA, so knowing which type you have before starting an experiment can prevent unnecessary mistakes.
Most importantly, do not assume that an unlisted combination is useless. Many of the 64 possible sequences still have unknown results, meaning additional serum recipes could potentially be discovered through further experimentation.
The Laboratory gives Animal Hospital’s Second Floor update a much deeper experimentation system. Instead of simply treating patients, you can collect their DNA, sequence samples, combine ingredients, and create strange serums with completely different effects.
Remember the four ingredient mappings: A is Pink Jelly, C is Ginger, G is Milk, and T is Purple Mushroom. The order is just as important as the ingredients themselves, so always enter the DNA sequence exactly as intended.
For now, the safest approach is to start with the confirmed Pink and Green Serum recipes before testing unknown sequences. With 64 possible combinations and only some of them identified, the Laboratory still leaves plenty of room for discovering new effects in Animal Hospital.
