King’s Punch is one of the secret skills that players can unlock in Grand Blue. Unlike normal fighting styles or abilities, this skill is hidden behind a special progression quest that requires you to spend a lot of time training with a dummy.
The good news is that you do not need to guess how to unlock it. Once you know which NPC to talk to and how the training quest works, you can start working toward King’s Punch right away. There are also a few ways to make the huge number of required punches easier to complete.
How to Start the King’s Punch Quest
To begin the progression for King’s Punch, travel to the Beginner Island and make your way toward Anchor Town. This is the starting area where you can find the NPC connected to the secret training quest.
Once you reach Anchor Town, head toward the Training Grounds. Look around the area for Sushi, an NPC that gives you the training quests. The NPC may sometimes fail to display the quest marker above his head, so do not assume the quest is unavailable.
If you cannot see an exclamation mark, simply interact with Sushi and check his dialogue. After speaking with him, you should eventually be able to start the Sushi Training questline.
All Sushi Training Quest Requirements
The King’s Punch progression contains five different training stages. Each stage requires you to hit the Training Dummy a specific number of times.
The requirements are:
- Sushi Training 1: 100 punches
- Sushi Training 2: 1,000 punches
- Sushi Training 3: 10,000 punches
- Sushi Training 4: 100,000 punches
- Sushi Training 5: 1,000,000 punches
The final stage is obviously the biggest part of the grind. You need to reach 1 million punches before completing the full progression, so doing everything manually can take a very long time.
After completing all five stages, you should receive King’s Punch, which is the reward for finishing this hidden training progression.
Fastest Way to Farm King’s Punch
The main problem with farming the Training Dummy is that it can knock your character backward after certain attacks. This can interrupt your farming and force you to move back into position.
Having a Flame Fruit can make this much easier. Since Flame provides a Logia effect, you can avoid normal attacks from the Training Dummy and stay in the training area more easily.
With Flame Fruit, you can simply stay near the dummy and repeatedly attack it. An auto clicker can also help with the repetitive clicking, allowing you to build up the required punch count without constantly clicking yourself.
How to Farm Without Flame Fruit
You do not need Flame Fruit to unlock King’s Punch. Players who do not have a Logia fruit can still complete the quest, although the process requires more attention.
One option is to use a repeated attack-and-block pattern. Stand in front of the Training Dummy, perform several punches, then use block to deal with the knockback pattern before repeating the process.
This method is slower than using Flame Fruit, but it gives you another way to progress without needing to obtain a specific fruit first.
Can You AFK the King’s Punch Quest?
If you have Flame Fruit, AFK farming is much easier because the Logia effect helps prevent the Training Dummy from interrupting your position.
You can keep your character near the dummy and use an auto clicker to repeat attacks. However, you should still check your character from time to time to make sure the farming process has not stopped or that your position has not changed.
Without Flame Fruit, fully AFK farming is harder because knockback can interrupt the attack cycle. In that case, the manual punch-and-block method is a better option.
How Powerful Is King’s Punch?
King’s Punch is designed as a powerful charged attack. Instead of simply tapping the ability and immediately throwing a punch, you can charge the attack before releasing it.
The skill can deal extremely high damage when used correctly, making it a useful ability for players who want a strong burst attack in their Grand Blue build.
Since the ability is also hidden behind a long progression quest, unlocking it can be a good goal for players who want to collect some of the game’s more difficult skills.
Tips for Getting King’s Punch Faster
If you want to finish the one-million-punch requirement as quickly as possible, these tips can make the grind easier:
- Start the Sushi Training questline as early as possible.
- Complete each training stage before moving on to the next one.
- Use Flame Fruit if you already have it.
- Use an auto clicker to reduce repetitive clicking.
- Stay directly in front of the Training Dummy.
- Use the punch-and-block method if you do not have Logia.
- Check your character regularly when farming automatically.
- Keep track of your punch progress.
- Be prepared for the final 1,000,000 punch requirement.
Getting King’s Punch in Grand Blue is not difficult because of a complicated boss or hidden item. The real challenge is the amount of training required. You must complete all five Sushi Training stages, with the final quest requiring a massive 1 million punches.
Flame Fruit is the easiest option for speeding up the process because its Logia effect makes Training Dummy farming much smoother. However, players without Flame can still complete the progression by using a manual attack and block method.
Once all five quests are finished, you can finally unlock King’s Punch and add the powerful secret skill to your Grand Blue setup.
