If you are trying to unlock classes in The Veil, you will eventually need to collect Sin and Offerings. These resources can take some time to gather, especially when you do not know which farming method is the most useful.
There are several ways to get them, from completing Bounties to exploring the Crypts and helping Explorer NPCs. In this guide, we will cover what Sin and Offerings are used for and the best ways to farm both resources.
What Does Sin & Offering Do?
Sin and Offerings are mainly used for progression in The Veil. Some classes require a certain amount of these resources before you can unlock them. Because different classes can have different requirements, you may need to focus on one resource instead of collecting both. This is important when deciding how you should use your items.
Offerings can be obtained from activities such as completing Explorer quests and certain Bounties. Sin can also be earned through Explorer NPC encounters and other methods while exploring the game. If you already know which class you want, check its requirements first. This will help you avoid wasting resources that you do not actually need.
How to Farm & Get Sin and Offerings
1. Farm the Crypts
One of the main methods is farming the Crypts. You can run through the area and search the rooms for Stone of Accords and Idols of Hatred. After checking the useful rooms, you can leave and server hop to another server. This lets you repeat the route instead of waiting around in the same server.
The more you do this route, the easier it becomes. You will start remembering where the important items can appear, allowing you to finish each run much faster. There is also an elevator that can take you toward the larger room at the top of the Crypts. However, this route can take more time and drain your Sanity, so it may not be worth using when you are focused on fast farming.
2. Trade Stone of Accords
If you are farming Sin and do not need Stone of Accords for your own progression, do not immediately use them. You can save your Stones of Accord and trade them with other players through the game’s Discord community. One useful trade mentioned by players is a 1-for-1 exchange between a Stone of Accord and an Idol of Hatred.
This can save a lot of time if you have plenty of Stones but are missing Idols of Hatred. Instead of continuing to farm the Crypts for the item you need, trading can help you get it much faster.
3. Complete Bounties
Bounties are another way to get Offerings. When you complete a Bounty by defeating an evil player, you can receive around 3 Offerings. However, this method can be risky because your target may have other players helping them. Because of the PvP risk, Bounties are not always the most reliable farming method. Still, they can be useful if you already enjoy fighting other players.
4. Find Explorer NPCs
You can also find Explorer NPCs while exploring the Maze. These NPCs look like small explorers and may blow a whistle when they need help. When you find one, interact with them and accept their quest. Successfully completing the Explorer quest can reward you with 1 Offering. This is a good extra method because you can find these NPCs while doing other activities instead of making a separate trip just to farm Offerings.
5. Let Explorer NPCs Die for Sin
Explorer NPCs can also be used to get Sin.
If you allow the Explorer NPC to die, you can receive 1 Sin instead. This gives you another option when you specifically need Sin for a class requirement. Nighttime can make this easier because enemies can quickly attack the NPC. If you are already exploring the Maze, keep an ear out for Explorer whistles nearby. If you hear one close to your location, it may be worth checking it out. You can potentially gain another resource without going too far away from your current farming route.
6. Combine Different Methods
You do not have to stick to just one method. Combining activities can make your farming sessions more efficient. For example, you can farm the Crypts for Stones and Idols while also checking nearby areas for Explorer NPCs. Extra Stones can then be traded for the items you are missing. If you enjoy PvP, Bounties can also be added to your routine for additional Offerings.
Getting Sin and Offerings in The Veil can take some grinding, but there are several ways to speed things up. Crypt farming and server hopping are useful for finding Stones of Accord and Idols of Hatred, while Explorer NPCs give you another way to collect Offerings or Sin.
If you are missing a specific item, trading can also save a lot of time. Before farming, check the requirements for the class you want so you know exactly which resources you should focus on.
With the right route and a little patience, you can build up enough Sin and Offerings for your next class unlock without wasting time on resources you do not need.
