5 Steal a Chicken Beginner Guide, Tips and Tricks to Play the Game
Steal a Chicken is a Roblox game where your main goal is to steal chickens from different areas and bring them back to your plot. The chickens then produce eggs, which can be sold for Cash or kept while you work toward better chickens and stronger upgrades.
The game looks simple at first, but progressing into the later biomes becomes much harder. You need enough speed to escape the chicken’s parent, enough space in your coop, and plenty of Cash to unlock new areas. These beginner tips can help you understand the basic gameplay and avoid wasting time.
1. Upgrade Your Speed as Early as Possible
Speed is one of the most important stats in Steal a Chicken. When you steal a chicken, you need to carry it all the way back to your plot while its parent tries to catch you. If you are too slow, the chicken can be taken back before you reach safety.
Early in the game, focus on improving your speed instead of spending all your Cash on other things. A faster character makes it much easier to grab chickens from further biomes and return before the parent catches up.
You should also keep training your speed whenever possible. The later areas require much more movement speed, and eventually some of the better chickens are almost impossible to steal if your character is still moving slowly.
2. Don’t Only Look at Nearby Chickens
One mistake beginners can make is always choosing chickens from the closest area. While these chickens are easier to steal, they may not provide the best value compared to chickens found in further biomes.
As you unlock new areas, check the chicken index to see what creatures are available. Later biomes can contain much rarer chickens with larger eggs, making them more useful for earning Cash.
However, don’t rush into an area that you cannot afford or survive in. Some locations require millions, billions, or even more Cash to unlock, so build up your resources first before trying to push toward the next zone.
3. Pay Attention to Your Coop Capacity
Your coop can only hold a certain number of chickens, so eventually you will run out of space. When this happens, grabbing another chicken won’t be as useful unless you have room to place it.
Selling eggs and upgrading your coop should therefore be part of your normal progression. Don’t simply keep collecting chickens without checking your available space.
If you find a better chicken than one you already have, consider which one is giving you more value. Replacing weaker chickens can be a better choice than filling every available slot with random creatures.
4. Better Chickens Produce Better Eggs
Not every chicken has the same value. As you progress through different biomes, you will encounter chickens with different rarities and characteristics. The stronger ones generally produce more valuable eggs, although they can also take longer to produce them.
This means you shouldn’t only judge a chicken by how easy it is to steal. A rare chicken might require more effort to obtain, but its eggs can provide a much bigger payout once you start selling them.

Try to avoid spending everything immediately unless the upgrade will noticeably improve your progress. Saving for an important biome or major speed upgrade can sometimes be more useful than buying a small improvement.
At the same time, don’t let valuable eggs sit unused forever. Once your chickens produce enough eggs, selling them gives you the Cash needed to keep progressing. A good routine is to collect your eggs, sell them, upgrade when useful, and then return to stealing better chickens.
Extra Tip: Use Speed to Steal From Better Biomes
Once your speed becomes high enough, start testing the further biomes instead of staying in the beginner areas. The later locations contain much rarer chickens, including unusual types such as Crystal, Robot, Penguin, Orca, Galaxy, and other high-tier chickens.
The farther you progress, the more important timing becomes. You need to grab the chicken and immediately start running because its parent can chase you and take it back. There is no real benefit to slowly carrying a valuable chicken around while waiting for someone else to help.
Jumping around also doesn’t appear to provide a major advantage during the chase, so focus more on having enough raw movement speed and taking a direct route back to your plot.
Steal a Chicken becomes much more interesting once you understand that speed, chicken rarity, coop space, and Cash are all connected. Your early goal should be to build enough speed to steal better chickens, then use their eggs to generate the money required for more upgrades.
Don’t worry about collecting every chicken immediately. Focus on making steady progress through the biomes, upgrading your coop when it becomes full, and replacing weaker chickens with better ones.
