Blox Fruits Update 30 added a new Awakened Boss system to the First Sea. These bosses are stronger versions of existing enemies and appear as part of the new Island Secrets system.
An Awakened Boss can appear once every hour, with the selected boss changing between servers. Before you can damage the boss, you also need to complete a small activity specific to that boss. Once the activity is finished, the boss becomes vulnerable and players can start attacking it.
The system is also connected to secret levels, the Awakened Boss Gacha, and the community-discovered Combat V2 progression.

How to Find an Awakened Boss
Awakened Bosses are exclusive to the First Sea and follow an hourly rotation. If you want to know which boss will awaken next, visit the Secrets Master in Middle Town. During the final 10 minutes of an hour, the NPC can provide information about the next boss and the island where it will appear. The game also added awakened boss hints in a later Update 30 fix.
Different servers can have different awakened bosses. Because of this, server hopping can be useful when you are looking for a particular boss. Try to arrive at the island before the awakening time. Once the event begins, you will have a limited amount of time to complete the boss’s special activity.
All Awakened Bosses in Blox Fruits
Current Update 30 documentation lists these 10 awakened bosses:
- Awakened Gorilla King
- Awakened Chef
- Awakened Yeti
- Awakened Vice Admiral
- Awakened Warden
- Awakened Magma General
- Awakened Fishman Lord
- Awakened Sky Warlord
- Awakened Lightning God
- Awakened Cyborg
Some of the names were changed in Update 30. For example, Wysper became Sky Warlord, while Thunder God became Lightning God. The completion messages can still show the older names in some cases.
Awakened Gorilla King
The Gorilla King is one of the First Sea bosses that received an awakened version.
When this boss appears, you need to complete its required secret activity before it can take damage. After the activity is completed, players can fight the awakened Gorilla King normally.
Defeating it counts toward the Island Secret system and can also give you a free Awakened Boss Gacha roll if you deal enough damage.
Awakened Chef
Chef is another First Sea boss with an awakened version.
Like the other awakened bosses, you cannot simply arrive and start damaging it. You first need to complete the special activity associated with the event.
Once the requirement is completed, the boss becomes attackable and everyone participating can help defeat it.
Awakened Yeti
The awakened Yeti is also part of the Update 30 boss rotation.
Keep an eye on the Secrets Master if you are specifically looking for this boss. Since the awakened boss selected can differ between servers, switching servers can be faster than waiting for the correct rotation.
Awakened Vice Admiral
Vice Admiral also has an awakened version in the new First Sea system.
The general process remains the same. Wait for the boss to awaken, complete its unique activity, and then deal enough damage to qualify for the rewards.
You do not necessarily need to be the player who starts the fight. According to the current documentation, players who deal at least 10% of the boss’s maximum HP can receive the Awakened Boss Gacha reward.
Awakened Warden
The Warden is another boss included in the awakened rotation.
Make sure you complete the required minigame before using your strongest attacks. Attacking too early will not damage the boss because awakened bosses remain protected until their special activity has been completed.
Awakened Magma General
Magma General appears in Magma Village.
For this awakened boss, the required activity involves breaking five small lava geysers around the volcano. Use your attacks on the geysers to complete the event and make the boss vulnerable.
Once the geysers are handled, you can focus on the awakened Magma General.
Awakened Fishman Lord
The awakened Fishman Lord appears in Underwater City.
The special activity requires you to search nearby clams until you find the one containing the black pearl. Collecting the correct pearl completes the preparation phase and allows the boss to be damaged.
This is one of the fights where knowing the minigame beforehand can save time.
Awakened Sky Warlord
The Sky Warlord is the Update 30 version of the boss previously known as Wysper.
This awakened boss appears in Upper Skylands. Its event involves attacking the dark lightning clouds above the structure where the boss appears.
Once the required activity is completed, the Sky Warlord becomes vulnerable.
Awakened Lightning God
Lightning God is the updated name for the former Thunder God.
This awakened boss is also located in Upper Skylands. The event starts around the bell, and you need to interact with it using the correct attack type shown by the game.
The sequence needs to be completed correctly before the boss becomes available to fight.
Awakened Cyborg
Cyborg’s awakened event takes place in Fountain City.
The special activity involves damaged wires scattered around the junkyard. Attack the damaged wires until they are repaired. Once the required wires have been fixed, the awakened Cyborg becomes vulnerable.
This is particularly important because attacking Cyborg before finishing the wire activity will not deal normal damage.
How the Awakened Boss Minigames Work
Every awakened boss has its own small activity that must be completed before the fight starts. The exact task depends on the boss. Some require you to destroy objects, while others involve finding an item or interacting with something around the island.
You have a five-minute window to complete the minigame. Once it is finished, the boss becomes vulnerable and players can attack it. Because of the time limit, it helps to learn the activity before trying to farm a specific boss.
Awakened Boss Gacha Rewards
Defeating an awakened boss can give participating players a free Gacha roll. You need to deal at least 10% of the boss’s maximum HP to qualify. You do not have to deal the final hit or start the boss fight yourself.
The possible rewards include Beli, experience boosts, Fruit Boxes, Scrolls, and the Royal Nimbus. The reward wheel appears after the boss is defeated, so you do not need to visit a separate NPC to claim the roll.
Awakened Bosses and Combat V2
Awakened Bosses are also important if you are following the currently known Combat V2, or Advanced Combat, quest.
Community research suggests that part of the suspected unlock process requires defeating several awakened bosses while using the basic Combat fighting style. However, this method is not officially confirmed as the complete unlock method.
Current sources describe Advanced Combat as an Update 30 fighting style whose player obtainment remains unknown or unverified. Some community guides currently point to six awakened bosses defeated using Combat only, while other community reports suggest a larger number of boss kills may be involved.
So, if your goal is Combat V2, it is safest to follow the latest confirmed information rather than treating an incomplete community method as guaranteed.
Tips for Farming Awakened Bosses
If you want to find these bosses more efficiently, keep these points in mind:
- Check the Secrets Master before the next hour starts.
- Go to the announced island before the boss awakens.
- Learn the boss’s minigame before the event begins.
- Server hop if you need a specific awakened boss.
- Complete the minigame before wasting time attacking the boss.
- Deal at least 10% damage if you want the Gacha roll.
- Stay near the boss after completing the activity so you do not miss the fight.
- Check your secret progression after the boss is defeated.
- If you are working toward Combat V2, use Combat only for the kills required by the current quest method.
Awakened Bosses are one of the biggest additions from Blox Fruits Update 30. They turn several familiar First Sea bosses into hourly events with their own minigames, secret progression, and Gacha rewards. There are currently 10 documented awakened bosses, ranging from Gorilla King and Chef to Magma General, Fishman Lord, Sky Warlord, Lightning God, and Cyborg.
The easiest way to hunt them is to check the Secrets Master, travel to the correct island before the event, complete the boss-specific minigame, and then deal enough damage to qualify for the rewards. If you are specifically chasing Combat V2, keep in mind that its full player-obtainment method is still not completely verified. The awakened boss requirement is part of the community-discovered route, but the exact final method may change as more of Update 30 is confirmed.
