This can take a lot of grinding, especially when your base is already making billions per second and every new upgrade gives only a small improvement.
The fastest approach is not simply to keep playing normally. You need to focus on getting stronger eggs, looking for high-weight variants, server hopping when an egg is too small, and using the best pets you can find. Here are several methods that can help you reach the leaderboard faster.
1. Focus on Base Income First
Your first priority should be increasing your base’s income per second. The higher your production becomes, the closer you get to the leaderboard requirement.
For example, the gameplay shown in the source started with a base producing around 238 billion per second. The target for entering the leaderboard was around 241.7 billion per second, meaning only a few billion more were needed.
This shows why you shouldn’t always chase a completely new team of pets. Sometimes, one strong pet can provide enough additional income to push your base over the required number.
2. Look for High-Weight Eggs
One of the biggest lessons from the grind is that the size or weight of an egg can make a huge difference. Two eggs of the same type can have completely different weights, so don’t immediately steal the first one you see if you’re specifically hunting for a strong addition to your base.
Some of the examples from the grind included eggs weighing only hundreds or thousands of kilograms, while better finds reached millions of kilograms. A massive egg has a much better chance of producing something that can make a noticeable difference to your base.
When an egg appears, take a moment to judge its size. If it looks unusually large, it can be worth prioritizing over smaller eggs from the same category.
3. Server Hop for Better Eggs
Server hopping is one of the most useful methods when you’re trying to find a large egg. If the egg in your current server is tiny, you don’t necessarily have to settle for it.
Instead, join another server and check the same egg there. Repeat this process until you find a size that is worth stealing.
The grind can take several server hops because some servers may have an egg that has already been stolen or one that is significantly smaller than the version available elsewhere. However, finding one huge egg can make all those extra server changes worthwhile.
A simple server-hopping routine is:
- Check the egg in your current server.
- Estimate whether its size is worth taking.
- If it is too small, switch servers.
- Check the same egg again.
- Continue until you find a strong size.
- Steal it before another player takes it.
Don’t spend forever searching for perfection, though. If an event or egg has only a short amount of time remaining, taking a decent egg can be better than missing it completely.

The gameplay example showed attempts to apply a new mutation using consumables with a stated 10% chance. Several attempts failed, showing that mutation hunting can quickly consume resources without guaranteeing a result.
Because of this, don’t assume that every massive egg will automatically become your best pet. You can get a huge creature that produces less than expected, while a smaller-looking egg can unexpectedly hatch into something much better.
If you have limited mutation resources, consider saving them for a pet or egg that has enough potential to justify the investment.
6. Keep an Eye on Your Best Pets
Your leaderboard progress ultimately depends on the pets currently contributing to your base. After hatching a new pet, check its income and compare it with what you already have.
A pet that looks impressive may not actually improve your setup. In the example, a massive egg weighing 11.5 million kg eventually produced a pet generating only around 1.3 billion per second.
Meanwhile, a Rainbow King Gorilla was producing around 82 billion per second, completely changing the player’s income. This is why checking your actual production numbers is more important than judging a pet purely by its appearance or egg size.
7. Use Equip Best After Getting Strong Pets
Whenever you obtain a powerful new pet, make sure it is actually equipped. Having a high-income pet sitting in your inventory doesn’t help your leaderboard position.
The Equip Best function can make this easier when you’ve collected a large number of pets. After getting a major upgrade, check your total production again to see how much your income increased.
This can also prevent situations where you accidentally leave a powerful pet unequipped and wonder why your income hasn’t changed.
8. Take Advantage of New Updates and Rifts
New updates can create opportunities for players trying to climb the leaderboard. New eggs, rifts, mutations, bosses, and other mechanics can introduce stronger pets that weren’t previously available.
The example included a new Rift update that added another mutation system through the boss shop. Even though the mutation attempts didn’t work out well, the new content created another way to improve pets.
Whenever an update arrives, check the new eggs and mechanics first. A newly introduced pet can sometimes provide a much bigger income increase than spending hours upgrading older parts of your setup.
9. AFK Between Egg Spawns
You don’t need to manually run around every second of your play session. If you’re waiting for another valuable egg to appear, AFK farming can be useful.

The gameplay example showed several situations where the player repeatedly searched different servers but kept finding tiny versions of the same egg. Eventually, taking a smaller egg was better than continuing to wait forever.
A good rule is to balance potential value against remaining time. If you have found an unusually large egg, go for it. If the timer is almost finished and nothing better has appeared, take the reasonable option and continue grinding.

The exact leaderboard requirement can change as other players increase their production, so there isn’t necessarily one permanent number that guarantees a position.
In the example, the player needed around 241.7 billion per second to reach the leaderboard. Their base was initially around 238 billion per second, leaving a gap of roughly 4 billion.
After obtaining stronger pets, the base eventually reached approximately 338 billion per second, comfortably passing the earlier requirement. This shows why the leaderboard can move over time and why simply reaching an old threshold may not always be enough.
Getting onto the Steal an Egg leaderboard isn’t just about playing for a long time. You need to make each part of your grind count by looking for high-weight eggs, checking different servers, collecting rare eggs, and making sure your strongest pets are actually equipped.
