Parting Gift is one of the most useful cards you can get while playing Horde Invasion in Clash of Critters. The card can completely change how you handle your Tatari units, especially when you are trying to survive the later waves and reach a higher score.

The main reason Parting Gift is so useful is its interaction with Tatari. When a Tatari with this setup is defeated, it gives back 100 Energizer. This lets you recover resources from weaker units instead of simply losing them when they die. Because of this, getting Parting Gift early can make a big difference in a difficult Horde Invasion run.

What Does Parting Gift Do?

Parting Gift gives you 100 Energizer whenever a Tatari dies. The important part is that you can intentionally use weaker Tataris as a way to recover resources. This works especially well when you have several low-level units that are not doing much damage. Instead of spending more resources upgrading them immediately, you can keep them weak and place them in front of your stronger units.

When those weaker Tataris are defeated, Parting Gift activates and returns Energizer to you. This makes the card more useful as the waves become harder. You can sacrifice units that are no longer important while keeping your main damage dealers alive.

How to Get Parting Gift

Parting Gift comes from the cards offered during Horde Invasion. Since the cards you receive are affected by RNG, there is no guaranteed way to get it every run. The best time to look for Parting Gift is around Wave 5. Ideally, you and your teammate should both have the card if you are playing together.

At the first boss on Wave 5, check the cards you receive. If Parting Gift does not appear, you can adjust your setup and try again instead of committing to a difficult run without the card. One strategy is to move your troops toward one side and allow around 10 enemies to pass through. After that, reset the run and try again. This can be repeated when you are specifically trying to get the card.

Best Way to Use Parting Gift

Once you have Parting Gift, do not immediately upgrade every Tatari on your team. Keep a few of your weakest units at a low level. For example, units such as Sunflower, Shroom, and Wave Flutter can be placed toward the front when you want them to be defeated quickly.

Move your stronger units back by around one row and allow the weaker three to take the damage first. When they are defeated, Parting Gift gives you 100 Energizer for each one.

This gives you a simple way to turn weaker units into extra resources.

However, be careful about upgrading Sunflower too early. Once it reaches Level 3 and gains its healing ability, it can become harder to kill. That can work against the strategy because you actually want your weakest units to go down quickly.

Parting Gift becomes even better when you understand which Tataris should receive your upgrades first. Your frontline units should generally get priority. Mantis, Owl, and Frog are good examples of units that you want to keep strong because they have to survive against incoming enemies.

After that, focus on your main damage dealers such as Poop Beetle, Tidian, and Bud Bow. Try to keep the weaker units low level while your important units are being upgraded. Once your stronger units reach around Level 7, you can start improving the weaker Tataris if the situation requires it.

This creates a balance where your strongest units carry the run while your weaker units remain useful for the Parting Gift resource effect.

When Should You Get Parting Gift?

Getting Parting Gift on Wave 5 is ideal. If you do not receive it until Wave 10, things are different. If you can already survive until Wave 10 without the card, you may be strong enough to complete that difficulty without relying on Parting Gift. Because of that, finding it early is much more valuable.

The earlier you get the card, the more opportunities you have to use your weaker Tataris and recover Energizer throughout the run.
