The Copper Nugget mining spot can be found in the Inquisition Base, west of the Yard. Follow the path toward the water until you reach the small fishing dock. The copper vein is built into the cliff face directly beside this dock.
You only need a pickaxe to mine the deposit. Each completed mining action uses four blocks of energy and gives you three Copper Nuggets, making this spot a convenient source when you need to stock up on copper.
How to Mine Copper Nuggets
Finding the vein is the main challenge the first time. Once you know where it is, getting Copper Nuggets is straightforward and does not require traveling to a distant part of the map. Follow these steps:
- Start from the Yard inside the Inquisition Base.
- Travel west toward the water.
- Continue until you reach the fishing dock.
- Look at the cliff face next to the dock.
- Equip your pickaxe before interacting with the ore vein.
- Interact with the copper vein to begin mining.
- Wait for the mining animation to finish.
- Collect the three Copper Nuggets that appear in your inventory.
The copper vein does not have a known mining limit, so you can return to this location whenever you need another supply of Copper Nuggets. This makes it a dependable resource spot for your workshop.
How Many Copper Nuggets Do You Get?
Every successful mining action produces three Copper Nuggets. The process consumes four blocks of energy, so it is worth keeping an eye on your energy bar if you are planning to mine several times in one trip.
Since the vein can be mined repeatedly, you do not need to worry about permanently exhausting this particular copper source. Simply return to the cliff near the fishing dock and mine it again when you need more material.
What Are Copper Nuggets Used For?
The main purpose of Copper Nuggets is producing Bronze Ingots. These ingots become important as you progress through the workshop and start working on better equipment. Bronze can be used for gear upgrades and stronger weapons, which are particularly useful when dealing with the zombie threats in the game.
Bronze Ingots can also be turned into materials such as Bronze Nails for additional crafting needs. There are two ways to produce Bronze Ingots, although only one of them uses Copper Nuggets directly.

The copper-based recipe requires:

- 1 Tin
- 20 Fuel
- Produces 4 Bronze Ingots
There is also a scrap-based alternative:
- 3 Bronze Scraps
- 10 Fuel
- Produces 2 Bronze Ingots
Bronze Scraps can be collected from broken barrels and trash piles around the Yard. However, these sources are limited, meaning they will eventually run out once you have cleared the available debris.
The copper vein provides a renewable source of the raw material needed for Bronze production, making it the better long-term option once your workshop starts consuming more bronze.
How to Unlock the Bronze Forge
You cannot immediately turn your Copper Nuggets into Bronze Ingots. First, you need to unlock the Bronze Forge through the Metallurgy Tech Tree.
The Bronze Forge costs 20 Metallurgy Tech Points. These are the red gems you earn by completing metal-related tasks throughout the world.
Once the Bronze Forge is unlocked, you gain access to more than just bronze production. The technology also unlocks the ability to produce Tin and provides the Sluice Box Blueprint.
This is important because the copper-based Bronze Ingot recipe requires both Copper Nuggets and Tin. Unlocking the Bronze Forge therefore gives you the tools needed to make use of the copper you have been mining.
Best Way to Stock Up on Copper
Once the Bronze Forge is available, it is worth making regular trips to the copper vein near the fishing dock. Because the location is close to the Yard and provides three Copper Nuggets per mining action, you can quickly build up a supply without spending much time traveling.
A simple routine is to mine copper whenever you are already working around the Inquisition Base. Keep some Tin available as well, then process the materials into Bronze Ingots when your workshop needs them.
This approach also prevents you from relying too heavily on Bronze Scraps, which are limited and can eventually disappear from the Yard.
