Mariana’s Awakening Fisch is a major questline that takes you through multiple layers of Mariana’s Veil in Fisch. The main objective is to complete tasks given by five NPCs: Ignis, Glacius, Tenebris, Luminis, and Resonus. Completing their challenges gradually unlocks the path toward the Obsidian Trench.

Each NPC focuses on specific fish that must be caught with a particular rod, often with additional requirements such as the right bait, season, weather, and time of day. This guide covers the available Ignis, Glacius, and Tenebris quests and their requirements.

Complete Ignis Quest Guide

Ignis is the first NPC you need to visit for the Mariana’s Awakening questline. You can find him at Volcanic Vents, standing opposite the Volcanic Rod at approximately GPS (-3343, -2028, 4076).

Talk to Ignis to receive two fishing challenges. Both tasks require you to use the Volcanic Rod, so make sure you have it ready before starting.

The two quests are:

  • Perfect Catch 2 Ashen Fortune Charred Coelacanth.
  • Catch 1 Ashen Fortune Obsidian-Plated Piranha.

The fishing conditions for these two targets are different, so you need to pay attention to the required bait, season, time, and weather. Using the Mutated Sharky Companion alongside the Volcanic Rod can also help increase your chances of completing the tasks.

Ignis Fish Requirements

For the Obsidian-Plated Piranha, use Worm bait during Summer in the Day while the weather is Rainy. The Charred Coelacanth requires Squid bait and can be caught during Summer or Autumn at Night when the weather is Clear.

Once you have completed both fishing tasks, return to Ignis and speak with him again. Completing his challenges rewards you with the Volcanic Gauntlets, allowing you to move forward with the Mariana’s Awakening progression.

Complete Glacius Quest Guide

After completing Ignis’s challenges, your next destination is Challenger’s Deep. Glacius can be found opposite the Challenger’s Deep Rod at approximately GPS (738, -3355, -1529).

Glacius gives you another pair of fishing challenges. Both objectives require the Challenger’s Rod, so make sure you have the correct rod equipped before attempting to catch the required fish.

His quests are:

  • Catch 3 Chilled Hoarfrost Halibut.
  • Perfect Catch 1 Chilled Glacial Gulper.

The fishing conditions are different for each target. Before heading out, it is recommended to equip the Mutated Sharky Companion and use a Glitched Potion to help with the fishing process.

Glacius Fish Requirements

The Glacial Gulper requires Shrimp bait and appears during Winter nights when the weather is Foggy. Meanwhile, the Hoarfrost Halibut uses Fish Head bait and can be caught during Winter days with Clear weather.

The Hoarfrost Halibut requires three catches, while the Glacial Gulper only needs one successful Perfect Catch. Once you have finished both objectives, return to Glacius.

Completing his quests rewards you with the Challenger’s Gauntlet, which is another item required for progressing through the Mariana’s Awakening questline.

Complete Tenebris Quest Guide

The third NPC is Tenebris, who can be found on the third layer of Mariana’s Veil, known as Abyssal Zenith. His approximate location is GPS (-1043.4, -1043.7, 84.7).

Tenebris is located across from the Anglerfish Pond. When traveling to this area, gliding is recommended instead of swimming because the Anglerfish can attack you while you are moving through the water.

Once you reach Tenebris, speak with him to receive the next set of fishing objectives. These quests require the Rod of the Zenith.

The two objectives are:

  • Catch 2 Wrath Lumin-Lure Lanternfish.
  • Perfect Catch 1 Wrath Void-Drifter Jelly.

Both fish have their own specific fishing conditions, so make sure you prepare the correct bait and wait for the appropriate season, time, and weather.

Tenebris Fish Requirements

The Lumin-Lure Lanternfish requires Shrimp bait and can be caught during Spring or Autumn at Night when the weather is Clear.

For the Void-Drifter Jelly, use Seaweed bait. It appears during Autumn or Winter at Night when the weather is Foggy.

You need two Lumin-Lure Lanternfish and one Perfect Catch of the Void-Drifter Jelly to complete Tenebris’s objectives. After catching everything required, return to Tenebris and speak with him again.

Completing the quest rewards you with the Abyssal Gauntlet.

Mariana’s Awakening Quest Progression

The Mariana’s Awakening questline requires you to work through different layers and complete challenges from the NPCs found throughout Mariana’s Veil. Each completed section provides a Gauntlet that contributes toward the larger progression.

So far, the questline includes:

  • Ignis — Volcanic Vents — Volcanic Gauntlets
  • Glacius — Challenger’s Deep — Challenger’s Gauntlet
  • Tenebris — Abyssal Zenith — Abyssal Gauntlet
  • Luminis — Later Mariana’s Veil progression
  • Resonus — Later Mariana’s Veil progression

The remaining NPCs require additional progression through the later gauntlets. As you complete each section, continue exploring the next layer of Mariana’s Veil to find the following quest giver.

Tips for Completing the Quests

These quests are heavily dependent on fishing conditions, so preparation can save you a lot of time. Before starting each challenge, check which rod, bait, season, time, and weather are required for the target fish.

It is also useful to have the Mutated Sharky Companion available and prepare the recommended potions when possible. For Tenebris’s section, take extra care while traveling around the Anglerfish Pond and consider gliding across the area rather than swimming through dangerous waters.

The Mariana’s Awakening questline in Fisch sends you through several layers of Mariana’s Veil and requires you to complete specialized fishing challenges for each NPC. Ignis starts the progression at Volcanic Vents, followed by Glacius at Challenger’s Deep and Tenebris at Abyssal Zenith.

Make sure you use the correct rod and fishing conditions for every objective. Once each set of challenges is completed, return to the relevant NPC to claim the corresponding Gauntlet and continue working toward opening the Obsidian Trench.
