Fighting styles give Slayers 2 players another way to build their characters beyond regular weapons and abilities. The game currently features different trainers for Slayer and Demon characters, with each style requiring you to reach a certain level before you can begin its trial. This guide covers the locations for Tai Chi, Soryu, and Reaper, including their level requirements and the items you need before traveling to their trainer locations.
Tai Chi Trainer Location
Tai Chi is a fighting style available to Slayer characters. Its trainer can be found around the Hidden Mist Village, and you need to reach at least level 65 before you can begin the Tai Chi trial. Starting from the Beginner Village, head northwest and continue straight toward Hidden Mist Village. If you have unlocked fast travel, you can use it to make the journey considerably shorter.
Once you reach the Hidden Mist area, look for the secret village section and move toward the house nearby. Jump onto the house and search for the hidden NPC. Talk to the trainer to unlock the Tai Chi Trial once you meet the level requirement. The route can be summarized as:
- Start at Beginner Village.
- Travel northwest.
- Continue toward Hidden Mist Village.
- Enter the secret village area.
- Look for the nearby house.
- Jump onto the house.
- Find the hidden Tai Chi trainer.
- Reach at least Level 65.
- Talk to the NPC to start the Tai Chi Trial.
Soryu Fighting Style Trainer Location
Soryu is a Demon fighting style, meaning Slayer characters cannot use this particular style. The trainer can be found near a harbor area outside the Beginner Village. Start from Beginner Village and turn right before heading outside. Continue straight through the area and keep moving until you reach the harbor.
A secret NPC can be found around this location, although the exact position may change slightly depending on updates. The trainer is called Soryu Expert Kazuma. Once you find him, interact with the NPC to begin the process of obtaining Soryu. The required level for Soryu is Level 65. To find the trainer:
- Start at Beginner Village.
- Turn right from the starting area.
- Head outside the village.
- Continue straight toward the harbor.
- Search around the harbor for Kazuma.
- Talk to Soryu Expert Kazuma.
- Make sure your character is at least Level 65.
The trainer has reportedly been moved from an earlier location, so players following older guides may find him somewhere different. If you do not see Kazuma inside the previous location, check the harbor area instead.
Reaper Fighting Style Trainer Location
Reaper is another fighting style available to Demon characters, but it has a higher level requirement than Tai Chi and Soryu. You must reach at least Level 100 before you can obtain it.
The trainer is located inside the snowy region, which means you need to prepare for the cold before making the journey. The most important requirement is the Ember Heart Lantern, as it provides the protection needed to survive the snow biome.
Starting from Beginner Village, travel southwest and continue straight until you reach the cave. Once you arrive at the cave, take the right path and continue toward the snowy area.
As you enter the snow biome, your character will begin taking cold damage. Equip the Ember Heart Lantern to gain cold immunity and use nearby campfires to increase your protection while you are traveling.
How to Find the Reaper Trainer
After entering the snowy region, continue until you reach the area with a campfire. The Reaper trainer can be found near a house behind the campfire.
The trainer is known as the Harvester of Souls. Once you reach Level 100 and have the necessary preparation for the snow biome, speak to this NPC to begin the Reaper fighting style progression.
Follow these steps:
- Start at Beginner Village.
- Travel southwest.
- Continue straight until you reach the cave.
- Enter the cave and take the right path.
- Continue into the snow biome.
- Equip your Ember Heart Lantern.
- Use campfires to maintain cold immunity.
- Find the house behind the campfire.
- Locate the Harvester of Souls.
- Reach at least Level 100.
- Talk to the trainer to begin the Reaper progression.
The Reaper trainer was reportedly moved from an earlier position, so older guides may show the NPC inside a different location. The current route places the trainer near the house by the campfire.
Ember Heart Lantern Requirement
The Ember Heart Lantern is especially important if you are trying to unlock Reaper. The snowy area continuously exposes your character to cold damage, which can make it difficult to reach the trainer without proper preparation.
When the lantern is equipped, you can gain cold immunity while traveling through the area. Standing near a campfire can further increase your protection, giving you more time to explore the snow biome without constantly taking cold damage.
If you have not obtained the Ember Heart Lantern yet, it is worth getting it before attempting to unlock Reaper. Arriving at the snow biome without proper cold protection can turn a simple trainer search into a difficult trip.
