Final Selection is one of the most important progression steps in Slayers 2. Completing it allows you to officially become a Slayer and unlock several useful rewards, including the Slayer Uniform, a Crude Iron Ingot, and your Crow for receiving future quests.
The problem is that Final Selection has many objectives spread across the map. Some quests are simple, while others can be confusing, especially when you need to find Lost, complete the parkour dungeon, or locate specific NPCs. This guide covers the full process from entering Final Selection to getting your katana.
Final Selection Requirements and Schedule
Before you can participate, your character needs to be at least Level 45. Final Selection also does not run continuously, so you need to pay attention to its schedule.
The event takes place once every two hours at even-numbered hours. Make sure you reach the Final Selection platform before the countdown ends. If you miss the entry window, you will have to wait for the next session.
The entrance is located around Butterfly Estate. You can use the bridge to reach the area or take a shortcut if you already know the route.
Once you reach the platform, stay there until the event begins. Leaving or arriving too late can cause you to miss the selection.
Quest 1: Find Rem and Collect the Fruits
The first objective starts with Rem. Find Rem inside Final Selection and talk to her to begin the quest. After speaking with Rem, you will need to collect several fruits around the area. The locations are not too difficult to reach, and the quest marker should help guide you toward the objectives.
Collect the required fruits and return to the NPC. Once you talk to her again, the next quest will become available. The important thing here is to follow the objective marker rather than randomly searching the entire map. Most of the Final Selection quests are designed to move you between different parts of the area.
Quest 2: Defeat Five Lesser Demons
The second quest is much more straightforward. You need to defeat five Lesser Demons.
Find the Lesser Demons in the marked area and defeat five of them. These enemies are relatively easy compared to the later enemies in Final Selection, so you should be able to handle them without much trouble.
You can also complete this quest solo. Once all five Lesser Demons have been defeated, return to the quest NPC to continue.
Quest 3: Find the Nichirin Katana
The next objective asks you to find a Nichirin Katana. From the NPC, travel southwest. Keep moving in that direction and follow the path until you reach the location where the katana can be found.
Once you see the Nichirin Katana, interact with it to pick it up. After getting the weapon, return to the NPC who gave you the quest. This is one of the easier objectives in Final Selection as long as you know which direction to travel.
Quest 4: Find Rika and Buy Bandages
After returning the Nichirin Katana, you will receive another errand. This time, you need to find Rika. Use the quest marker to locate her. Once you reach Rika, talk to her and purchase the required bandages.
After buying them, return to the previous NPC. You will then need to use the bandages to treat his wounds. This part includes a short mini-game. Complete it successfully to finish the objective and move on to the next stage.
If the area looks dark or covered in fog, that is normal. Using an in-game lantern can make it easier to see while moving through Final Selection.
Quest 5: Find Mizunoto and Lost
The next NPC you need to locate is Mizunoto. He can be found near the area where you completed the previous objective. Talk to Mizunoto to receive the next quest. This is where some players can easily get lost because the objective requires you to find an NPC named Lost.
From Mizunoto, travel northwest and continue straight until you reach a lake. Once you find the lake, jump into the water and swim underwater. Lost can be found beneath the water.
Defeat Lost, then swim back to the surface and return to Mizunoto. After speaking with him again, you will unlock the next part of Final Selection.
Quest 6: Complete the Parkour Dungeon
The parkour section is probably the part where you should avoid rushing. You need to travel through a dungeon filled with platforms, jumps, levers, and traps. Enter the dungeon and follow the available path. Your main goal is to reach the different sections and activate the levers along the way.
The good news is that you have enough time to complete this section without rushing. Around five minutes should be enough if you move carefully. Keep these tips in mind:
- Use double jump whenever a jump requires extra distance.
- Activate every lever you find.
- Watch your landing position before jumping.
- Use checkpoints whenever they become available.
- Take your time instead of trying to speed through the course.
- Be especially careful around spike traps.
The spikes are particularly dangerous because they can defeat you instantly and send you back to the previous checkpoint. Once you reach the final section, activate the last lever and make your way to the final door. After getting through the dungeon, return to Mizunoto.
Quest 7: Find All Four Checkpoints
The next objective is much easier because the four checkpoints are marked for you. Open your map or look at the objective markers on your screen. Travel to each of the four checkpoints and interact with them as required.
You do not need to search randomly around the map. Simply follow the markers until all four checkpoints have been completed. At the final checkpoint, you should find Levi. Talk to Levi to unlock the next quest.
Quest 8: Rescue the Civilian
Levi will then give you a rescue mission.
Head to the marked area and stay there to trigger the objective. Several demons will spawn around the zone, so you need to defeat them before you can properly complete the rescue.
After dealing with the enemies, find the civilian and rescue them. Once the civilian is safe, bring them back to Levi.
Talk to Levi again after returning to complete this stage of Final Selection.
Quest 9: Find Steve and Defeat the Hand Demon
The next objective is to find Steve. His location should appear on your map or screen through the quest marker. Follow the marker until you reach Steve. After talking to him, you will be introduced to the Hand Demon.
The Hand Demon is the final major fight of Final Selection. Defeat it to complete the last part of the selection. Once the Hand Demon is defeated, you will receive the main rewards for completing Final Selection.
These include:
- Slayer Uniform
- Crude Iron Ingot
- Crow
- Slayer status
The Crow is particularly useful because it can provide additional quests that help you continue leveling and progressing your character.
How to Get Your Katana After Final Selection
After becoming a Slayer, you can use the Crude Iron Ingot you received from Final Selection to forge a blade. Travel to Hidden Mist Village and find Yagan A. Talk to him and choose the option to forge a blade.
You will then be able to select from the available blade options. These weapons are especially useful for new players who do not already have a good katana. If you already own a strong blade that you want to keep using, you do not necessarily need to replace it with one of these options. However, the forging system gives new players a way to turn their Crude Iron Ingot into a usable katana.
Tips for Completing Final Selection Faster
Final Selection is not particularly difficult once you know the order of the objectives. Most of the time is spent traveling between NPCs, finding specific locations, and completing the parkour section. To make the entire process easier, keep these tips in mind:
- Reach at least Level 45 before attempting Final Selection.
- Check the schedule because Final Selection only starts every two hours at even-numbered hours.
- Be on the platform before the countdown finishes.
- Follow the quest icons instead of searching randomly.
- Travel southwest from the relevant NPC when looking for the Nichirin Katana.
- Travel northwest from Mizunoto to find the lake and Lost.
- Use double jump during the parkour section.
- Do not rush the spike sections.
- Activate every lever inside the dungeon.
- Complete all four marked checkpoints.
- Prepare your best combat skills before fighting the Hand Demon.
The parkour section is the biggest place where rushing can waste your time. It is better to move slowly and reach the next checkpoint safely than to repeatedly fall and restart.
What You Unlock After Final Selection
Completing Final Selection marks an important point in your Slayers 2 progression. You are officially recognized as a Slayer and can continue working toward stronger equipment and additional progression systems. Your Crow will also become available for receiving quests, giving you another way to gain experience and continue leveling.
For new players, completing Final Selection should be one of the main goals after reaching Level 45. Once you know the NPC locations and the order of each objective, the entire process becomes much easier.
Follow the quest markers, take your time during the parkour dungeon, and save your strongest abilities for the Hand Demon. After that, you can head to Hidden Mist Village, use your Crude Iron Ingot with Yagan A, and get a blade to continue your Slayer journey.
