Fishing is one of the useful side activities in Slayers 2, especially when you need extra materials for progression. While defeating bosses and mini-bosses can give valuable rewards, fishing provides another way to collect fish, money, and several important resources. The system also has multiple fishing rods, bait, refinement, and a special quest for the Legendary Fishing Rod. How to Start Fishing in Slayers 2
Before you can fish, your character needs to reach at least Level 45. Once you meet the level requirement, head to Mistfall Harbor and look for Dock Master Sofen in the central part of the harbor.
Sofen will explain that you need a Fishing Permit before you can fish around the harbor. The permit is also required before you can purchase your first fishing rod, so this is the first step you need to complete.

The Fishing Permit papers can be found near the other side of the docks. Look for a building with several wooden crates nearby. The papers are placed on top of some of these crates.
Pick up the permit papers and take them back to Dock Master Sofen. After completing this step, you can purchase your first fishing rod from the Fisherman NPC nearby.
All Fishing Rods in Slayers 2
There are currently three main fishing rods available in Slayers 2: Basic, Rare, and Legendary. Each rod improves the fishing experience, with the Legendary Fishing Rod being the final upgrade you should work toward. The rods are unlocked in order, meaning you will need to use the earlier equipment to progress toward the stronger ones.
Basic Fishing Rod
The Basic Fishing Rod is your starting point for fishing in Slayers 2. Once you have completed the Fishing Permit requirement, speak with Fisherman Jeso near Dock Master Sofen.
The rod costs $3,500. It does not provide any special buffs or passive effects, but that is not a major problem at the beginning. You mainly need it to start catching fish and complete the requirements for better fishing equipment.
Rare Fishing Rod
After getting comfortable with the Basic Fishing Rod, your next target should be the Rare Fishing Rod. Fisherman Jeso sells this rod for $10,000, but there is an additional requirement before you can purchase it.
You need to catch five Golden Fish using the Basic Fishing Rod. Once you have caught all five, return to Jeso and purchase the Rare Rod. It provides several useful improvements compared to the Basic version. The Rare Fishing Rod has these stats:
- 1.5x Bite Speed Multiplier
- +4 Cast Radius
- +0.35 Fish Luck
- 95% Catch Chance
- Rare Catch Tier
The increased bite speed and Fish Luck make the Rare Rod much more useful when hunting higher-quality fish.
How to Get the Legendary Fishing Rod
The Legendary Fishing Rod requires considerably more work than the previous two rods. You will first need to speak with Dock Master Sofen again and follow his clue to find the Drowned Lure.
Travel to the small ledge opposite the water vent near Mistfall Harbor. Equip your Basic Fishing Rod and fish from this location without using bait. After several successful catches, usually around the fifth or sixth catch, you should obtain the Drowned Lure. Once you have the Drowned Lure, the next part of the quest begins.
Find the Ghost Fisherman
Go underneath the red bridge located across from the ledge where you obtained the Drowned Lure. A Ghost Fisherman NPC can be found there.
Talk to him and he will give you another fishing task. You need to catch the following fish:
- 2 Crustadon
- 2 Krahuon
Both are Legendary-type fish. You can catch them around the same ledge used to obtain the Drowned Lure. Using the Rare Fishing Rod and suitable bait can make this part considerably easier.
After catching both Crustadon and both Krahuon, return to the Ghost Fisherman. He will then reveal the location where you need to fish for the Legendary Fishing Rod.
Legendary Fishing Rod Location
The final fishing spot is outside the Butterfly Estate. Look for a tree with a small waterfall nearby, as this is the area connected to the Legendary Fishing Rod quest. Equip the Drowned Lure on your Rare Fishing Rod and begin fishing at this location. Continue fishing until the Legendary Fishing Rod appears as your reward.
The Legendary Fishing Rod has the following stats:
- 3x Bite Speed Multiplier
- +0 Cast Radius
- 95% Catch Chance
- Items Catch Tier
- +0.5 Fish Luck
The biggest difference is its Catch Tier. Instead of focusing mainly on fish, the Legendary Rod can provide valuable items and materials, making it much more useful for long-term grinding.
How to Get the Legendary Fisherman Title
Getting the Legendary Fishing Rod also unlocks the Legendary Fisherman title automatically. You can equip this title to gain additional fishing-related bonuses.
The title provides these buffs:
- 1.07x Fishing Luck Factor
- 1.05x Bite Speed Factor
It also provides this passive:
- 1.06x Breath Duration Factor
These bonuses are useful if you plan to spend a lot of time fishing, especially when farming materials with the Legendary Rod.
How to Get Bait in Slayers 2
Bait can make fishing easier and improve your chances of getting better catches. To unlock the bait shop, travel to Hidden Mist Village and find Baitmonger Nori. When you first speak with Nori, you will be sent to Shiori at Butterfly Estate. Shiori needs several consumables before the bait system becomes available.
You need to give Shiori:
- 10 Health Elixirs
- 10 Health Regen Elixirs
- 10 Stamina Elixirs
After completing this request, return to Baitmonger Nori. You will then be able to purchase different types of bait.
The available bait includes:
- Worms — $4
- Fish Head — $6
- Golden Tentacle — 40 Robux

How the Slayers 2 Fishing Mini-Game Works
The fishing mini-game in Slayers 2 follows a familiar system that Roblox players should recognize. First, equip your fishing rod from your inventory and cast the line into a body of water. When a fish or item bites, a green bar will appear together with a moving white bar. Your goal is to keep the green bar inside the white area while the fishing progress increases.

The refinement system requires Money and Ores. Early refinement levels use easier-to-obtain ores, while later levels require increasingly valuable materials. Some of the higher refinement stages can require rare resources such as Mythical Ores.
One important thing to remember is that refinement only improves the Luck stat of your fishing rod. It does not increase other statistics such as Bite Speed.
