The Emberheart Lantern is an important item in Slayers 2 if you want to explore the snowy areas without being forced to stay near a campfire. The cold in this region can quickly drain your health, making it difficult to travel or fight for long periods.
Getting the lantern requires defeating a specific boss and obtaining a Frozen Heart first. The boss has a chance to drop the lantern, so you may need to repeat the fight several times before getting it.
What Is the Emberheart Lantern?
The Emberheart Lantern is used to improve your cold resistance in the snowy area. Without it, your cold immunity will not properly recharge when you move away from a fire, meaning you can quickly start taking damage again.
After obtaining and equipping the lantern, you can use fires around the snowy region to build up your Cold Immunity. This makes traveling through the area much easier and gives you more time to explore, fight enemies, and complete quests.
How to Get a Frozen Heart
Before you can fight the boss required for the Emberheart Lantern, you need a Frozen Heart. This item is used to awaken the Frozen Yeti inside the White Terror Lair.
Frozen Hearts can be purchased from Black Market Merchants, also referred to as night merchants. These merchants appear around the map when nighttime begins, but their exact locations can change.
When you find one, check the merchant’s inventory for a Frozen Heart. The item costs 10,000 Yen when purchased with in-game currency, while there can also be an option to purchase it using Robux.
Because each Frozen Yeti attempt requires a Frozen Heart, make sure you have enough Yen before starting the farming process.
Where to Find the Frozen Yeti
The Frozen Yeti is located inside the White Terror Lair near the Butterfly Estate. If you have access to a shrine or another fast-travel option, you can use it to reach the Butterfly Estate more quickly.
From the Butterfly Estate, leave the main area and head toward the nearby ledge. You do not need to cross the main bridge. Instead, move toward the edge and jump down toward the waterfall. Once you reach the lower area, continue through the path until you reach the White Terror Lair. Keep moving toward the back of the area and you will eventually find the Frozen Yeti.
The route can be summarized as:
- Travel to Butterfly Estate.
- Leave the estate and head toward the nearby ledge.
- Jump down near the waterfall.
- Enter the White Terror Lair.
- Travel toward the back of the cave.
- Find the frozen Frozen Yeti.
- Use a Frozen Heart to awaken it.
How to Defeat the Frozen Yeti
The Frozen Yeti is not necessarily the hardest boss in Slayers 2, but it can still be dangerous if you get caught in its attacks. Having strong combat abilities and enough damage will make the fight much easier.
Healing items are also recommended before starting the fight. Health Regeneration Potions are particularly useful because they allow you to recover while creating some distance from the boss.
One important rule is to avoid fighting too close to the walls. Keeping the Frozen Yeti closer to the center of the arena gives you more room to move and makes it easier to avoid its attacks.
Watch Out for the Yeti’s Minions
When the Frozen Yeti’s health gets low, it can summon two smaller enemies. During this phase, you cannot continue damaging the boss until both minions have been defeated.
Take advantage of this moment to recover some health if you need it. The minions move relatively slowly, giving you some space to heal before returning to the fight.
Once both minions are defeated, the Frozen Yeti becomes vulnerable again. Be ready because the boss can immediately return to attacking you.
Emberheart Lantern Drop Chance
The Frozen Yeti has a 25% chance of dropping the Emberheart Lantern. This means there is no guarantee that you will receive it after your first victory.
If you do not get the lantern, you will need another Frozen Heart and another Frozen Yeti attempt. This is why preparing several Frozen Hearts in advance can save time when farming for the item.
Players who have access to a Luck Booth can also increase their chances of getting the lantern. A higher luck multiplier can make repeated farming attempts more efficient.
How the Emberheart Lantern Works
After defeating the Frozen Yeti and obtaining the Emberheart Lantern, equip it from your inventory before entering the snowy area.
The lantern does not completely remove the cold mechanic. Instead, it allows you to recharge your Cold Immunity by standing near a fire.
When you stand beside a fire while the lantern is equipped, your Cold Immunity increases over time. According to the guide, it can increase by around 10 seconds of immunity each second until reaching a maximum of 10 minutes.
Once you leave the fire, the immunity begins decreasing again. This means you will still need to return to fires occasionally during longer trips through the snow.
What Happens Without the Lantern?
You can still stand near a fire without owning the Emberheart Lantern, but your Cold Immunity will not recharge properly.
Once you leave the fire, your existing immunity will continue to run down. When it reaches zero, the cold begins damaging you, making it difficult to remain in the snowy region for an extended period.
Because of this, getting the lantern is especially useful if you plan to spend a lot of time exploring or farming in the snow area.
How to Find Black Market Merchants
Black Market Merchants appear during nighttime and can be used to purchase Frozen Hearts. Their spawn locations are not always the same, so you may need to search different areas of the map.
If you have a Merchant Locator, finding them becomes much easier. Without one, you will need to check their possible spawn locations manually when night begins.
When you find the merchant, check whether a Frozen Heart is available and purchase one if you are preparing for another Frozen Yeti fight.
The Emberheart Lantern is worth getting if you plan to spend a lot of time in the snowy regions of Slayers 2. The item makes the cold mechanic much easier to manage by allowing your Cold Immunity to recharge around fires.
The main challenge is defeating the Frozen Yeti and dealing with its 25% lantern drop chance. Prepare Frozen Hearts from the Black Market Merchants, bring healing items, keep the boss away from the walls, and repeat the fight until the lantern drops. Once you have it equipped, the snowy area becomes much easier to explore for longer periods.
