The Firstlight Bladed Wagasa is one of the harder weapons to unlock in Slayers 2 because getting its schematic requires several other items first. You cannot simply walk up to the NPC and buy the recipe. Instead, you need to find the Firstlight Mask schematic, craft the mask, obtain the Bladed Wagasa, and then trigger a hidden NPC.
The NPC you are looking for is Wagasa Maker Genzo. Finding Genzo is the key to progressing toward the Firstlight Bladed Wagasa schematic, but there is also an important requirement involving the Damascus Bladed Wagasa V2.
Get the Firstlight Mask Schematic
The first thing you need is the Firstlight Mask schematic. Travel to the Hidden Mist Village and look for the underwater area near the Taichi Trainer.
From the Taichi Trainer location, head toward the secret underwater section and swim through the passage. Continue through the underwater route, then go upward until you reach the area containing the Firstlight Mask schematic. Once you find it, interact with the schematic to study it and unlock the recipe.
Craft the Firstlight Mask
After learning the schematic, your next destination is the Blacksmith. You need to craft the Firstlight Mask before continuing with the Genzo requirements.
Once the mask has been crafted, equip it. This is important because the mask needs to be equipped during the next puzzle.
The basic progression at this point is:
- Find the Firstlight Mask schematic.
- Study the schematic.
- Visit the Blacksmith.
- Craft the Firstlight Mask.
- Equip the Firstlight Mask.
Get the Bladed Wagasa
The next requirement is the Bladed Wagasa. You can obtain this weapon from Fujiko at Butterfly Estate Shrine.
The Bladed Wagasa has a 5% drop chance, so you may need to defeat the required enemies multiple times before it drops. This is one of the grind-heavy parts of the process.
After obtaining the Bladed Wagasa, you need to upgrade it to its V2 version. More specifically, the Genzo requirement needs the Damascus Bladed Wagasa V2.
This means players who already own the Damascus version can move through the process much faster, while players starting without it will need to spend additional time farming and upgrading the weapon.
Go to Windy Peak Shrine
Once you have the Firstlight Mask equipped, teleport to Windy Peak Shrine.
Your next objective is connected to the boulder-pushing minigame found in this area. Look for the location where you can interact with the large boulder.
Start the minigame while wearing the Firstlight Mask. You need to push the boulder as part of the hidden puzzle that eventually causes Wagasa Maker Genzo to appear.
Solve the Boulder Puzzle
While pushing the boulder, a secret indicator should appear. You will notice an arrow pointing toward a location that does not seem like the normal destination for the boulder.
This is where the hidden route becomes important. Instead of simply following the obvious path, look for the secret slope nearby.
Once you find the slope, take the right side and continue climbing upward. Keep following the route until you reach the location indicated by the arrow.
Push the boulder toward that area. If you have followed the correct route and are wearing the Firstlight Mask, the hidden NPC should spawn.
Find Wagasa Maker Genzo
After completing the boulder puzzle, Wagasa Maker Genzo should appear directly in front of you.
Genzo is the secret NPC responsible for the next part of the Firstlight Bladed Wagasa progression. However, there is one major requirement you need to meet before Genzo will provide the schematic.
You must have the Damascus Bladed Wagasa V2.
This requirement is easy to miss because simply finding Genzo is not enough. If you do not have the required V2 weapon, the progression will stop at this point.
Damascus Bladed Wagasa V2 Requirement
The Damascus Bladed Wagasa V2 is currently one of the most important requirements for this weapon. If you already have it in your inventory, you can continue with Genzo immediately after triggering the NPC.
You do not need to be a Demon to obtain the Firstlight Bladed Wagasa. The important requirement is having the required weapon in your inventory.
So, if you are currently playing as a Slayer, you can still work toward this weapon as long as you meet the item requirements.
Can Demons Get Firstlight Bladed Wagasa?
You do not have to be a Demon to unlock the Firstlight Bladed Wagasa. The requirement is based on the items you have rather than your character’s Demon status.
This is useful for players who are following the Slayer progression but still want to collect the weapon. As long as you have the required Firstlight Mask and Damascus Bladed Wagasa V2, you can proceed with the Genzo part of the quest.
The Firstlight Bladed Wagasa is not a weapon you can unlock immediately after finding Genzo. The biggest hurdle is preparing the required equipment beforehand, especially the Damascus Bladed Wagasa V2.
The overall route starts with the Firstlight Mask schematic in Hidden Mist Village, followed by crafting the mask and farming the Bladed Wagasa from Fujiko. After upgrading the weapon, you can head to Windy Peak Shrine and solve the hidden boulder puzzle to make Wagasa Maker Genzo appear.
Once Genzo has been triggered and you have the Damascus Bladed Wagasa V2 in your inventory, you can continue toward obtaining the Firstlight Bladed Wagasa schematic.
