The Mechanic’s Shop is a limited-time event in A Dusty Trip where you can collect a new currency called Nuts & Bolts. Instead of using a normal spin system, you earn this currency by exploring the desert and defeating certain mutants.

The event features six rewards, including the Kairo 7, a Legendary sports car. The Mechanic’s Shop is only available until October 4, 2026, so you have a limited amount of time to collect enough Nuts & Bolts for the items you want.

How to Start the Mechanic’s Shop Event

You can access the Mechanic’s Shop by finding Pit Crew Pete, the NPC added for the event. Pete can be found in the center of the A Dusty Trip lobby.

There is no quest or level requirement to unlock the shop. Simply walk up to Pete and interact with him to open the Mechanic’s Shop menu. From there, you can see all six rewards, their Nuts & Bolts prices, and their Robux prices.

How to Farm Nuts & Bolts

There are two main ways to collect Nuts & Bolts during the event. You can either defeat specific mutants or search the desert for Toolboxes.

While both methods work, mutant farming is much more reliable if you are trying to collect enough currency for the expensive rewards.

1. Kill Red-Helmet Mutants

Red-Helmet Mutants are the main source of Nuts & Bolts. They drop the event currency when defeated, making them the best target if you want to farm large amounts quickly.

Instead of driving around looking for individual mutants, try finding areas where several of them spawn close together. Ghost Town is a useful location because you can fight multiple mutants in one area rather than wasting time traveling between separate encounters.

Bring your strongest weapon when farming. The Kairo 7 costs 1,000 Nuts & Bolts, so you will need to defeat plenty of mutants to afford it. A high-damage weapon can make each farming run much faster.

2. Loot Toolboxes

Toolboxes are another source of Nuts & Bolts. They can appear around the map, especially near Points of Interest such as houses, garages, and other desert structures.

Each Toolbox gives around 20 Nuts & Bolts, so you should collect them whenever you find one during your journey. However, they are not as efficient as farming Red-Helmet Mutants if your main goal is to quickly save for the Kairo 7.

For example, you would need roughly 50 Toolboxes to reach 1,000 Nuts & Bolts. Since Toolbox spawns are random, it is better to grab them while traveling rather than specifically searching the entire map for them.

All Mechanic’s Shop Rewards

A Dusty Trip

The Mechanic’s Shop contains six different rewards with different prices and rarities. The most expensive item is the Kairo 7, while smaller cosmetics and utility items cost considerably less. Here are all of the available rewards:

  • Kairo 7 — Legendary — 1,000 Nuts & Bolts or 319 Robux
  • Junkyard Shotgun — Uncommon — 400 Nuts & Bolts or 79 Robux
  • Checkered Heat Wrap — Rare — 300 Nuts & Bolts or 59 Robux
  • Ancient Visor — Epic — 200 Nuts & Bolts or 55 Robux
  • Shrapnel Grenade — Rare — 130 Nuts & Bolts or 39 Robux
  • Checkered Flags Charm — Uncommon — 79 Nuts & Bolts or 19 Robux

Collecting every item from the shop requires 2,109 Nuts & Bolts in total. Players who want to avoid the event grind can instead spend a combined 570 Robux on the listed rewards.

Which Mechanic’s Shop Reward Should You Get First?

If you want the main permanent reward from the event, the Kairo 7 should be your main farming target. It is the only Legendary reward in the Mechanic’s Shop and costs 1,000 Nuts & Bolts.

The event weapons have a different setup. The Junkyard Shotgun and Shrapnel Grenade are stored as event items and are removed when the event ends. After getting the Kairo 7, the Ancient Visor is another useful purchase because it costs 200 Nuts & Bolts and can protect you from lethal damage once.

If you are mainly collecting cosmetics, however, you can spend your Nuts & Bolts on the Checkered Heat Wrap or Checkered Flags Charm instead. Your choice depends on whether you want the permanent vehicle, utility items, or event cosmetics.

Kairo 7 Car Stats

The Kairo 7 is the headline reward of the Mechanic’s Shop event. You can obtain it by spending 1,000 Nuts & Bolts or 319 Robux.

Its main stats are:

  • Top Speed: 234 km/h (145 mph)
  • Fuel Tank: 30 liters (7.93 gallons)
  • Water Capacity: 5 liters
  • Engine Capacity: 4 liters

The Kairo 7 is only available through the Mechanic’s Shop while the event is active, so players who want the vehicle should make sure they collect enough Nuts & Bolts before the shop closes.

Mechanic’s Shop Event End Date

The Mechanic’s Shop is a limited-time event and is scheduled to end on October 4, 2026. After the event closes, you will no longer be able to farm Nuts & Bolts through the event or purchase its rewards from the shop.

If you want multiple rewards, start farming early rather than waiting until the final day. Red-Helmet Mutants are the main farming target, while Toolboxes can provide additional Nuts & Bolts whenever you encounter them during your runs.

The Mechanic’s Shop gives A Dusty Trip players another reason to explore the desert and hunt Red-Helmet Mutants. Nuts & Bolts can be exchanged for six event rewards, with the Kairo 7 standing out as the main prize.

For efficient farming, focus on areas with groups of Red-Helmet Mutants and collect Toolboxes whenever you encounter them. If the Kairo 7 is your goal, save your currency until you reach 1,000 Nuts & Bolts, and remember that the event ends on October 4, 2026.
