Food is one of the simplest ways to level up your Pets in Ride a Pet. Every Food Item gives a set amount of XP when used, and the amount increases as the rarity of the food gets higher. You can purchase Food Items from the Food Stand located in the middle of the spawn area. If you are trying to level up a Pet quickly, knowing which food gives the most XP can help you decide where to spend your Cash.

Ride a Pet Food List

There are currently five Food Items available from the Food Stand. They range from Rare Grass to the extremely expensive Ethereal Dragonfruit, with each one providing a different amount of Pet XP. Here are all Food Items currently available:

Grass

  • Price: $10
  • Rarity: Rare
  • XP: 500

Bone

  • Price: $1,500
  • Rarity: Epic
  • XP: 10,000

Meat

  • Price: $30,000
  • Rarity: Legendary
  • XP: 100,000

Magic Apple

  • Price: $7M
  • Rarity: Mythic
  • XP: 300,000

Dragonfruit

  • Price: $30M
  • Rarity: Ethereal
  • XP: 1,000,000

The higher-rarity foods cost much more, but they also provide significantly more XP. Dragonfruit gives the largest amount of XP from a single Food Item, making it useful when you have plenty of Cash available.

How to Feed Pets in Ride a Pet

Feeding a Pet is straightforward. First, head toward the Food Stand in the center of the spawn area and purchase the Food Item you want to use.

After buying the food, open your Pet inventory and select the Pet you want to level up. You can either have the Pet equipped and riding with you or place it inside your Ranch before using the Food Item.

The basic process is:

  1. Go to the Food Stand in the spawn area.
  2. Purchase the Food Item you want.
  3. Open your Pet inventory.
  4. Select the Pet you want to level up.
  5. Use the Food Item on that Pet.
  6. The Pet receives the listed amount of XP.

If you are saving money, cheaper foods can be useful for regular leveling. Players with a large Cash balance can instead buy higher-rarity food to gain much more XP from each item.

How to Get Rarer Food Items

Not every Food Item will always be available at the Food Stand. Each food has its own restock chance based on its rarity, meaning expensive foods can be harder to find in the shop.

If the Food Item you want is not currently available, you need to wait for the shop to restock. This can be inconvenient when you are trying to level a Pet quickly, especially when looking for high-rarity food.

Fortunately, Ride a Pet has an Auto-Buy feature that can help with this.

How Auto-Buy Works

Auto-Buy allows the game to automatically purchase a Food Item whenever it becomes available again. This means you do not need to constantly return to the Food Stand and manually check for a restock.

There are two main requirements for using Auto-Buy:

  • You must have purchased the Food Item at least once.
  • You need enough Cash to afford the available stock.

Once these requirements are met, Auto-Buy can purchase as much of the selected food as your available Cash allows whenever it restocks.

This is especially useful for high-rarity Food Items because their restock chances are lower. Instead of repeatedly checking the Food Stand yourself, you can let Auto-Buy handle the purchases while you focus on other parts of the game.

Which Food Gives the Most XP?

Dragonfruit currently provides the highest XP among the listed Food Items. It costs $30 million but gives 1,000,000 XP to a Pet from a single use. For players who do not have enough Cash for Dragonfruit, the other options still provide useful amounts of XP. Meat gives 100,000 XP for $30,000, while Bone gives 10,000 XP for $1,500.

A simple progression is:

  • Grass — 500 XP
  • Bone — 10,000 XP
  • Meat — 100,000 XP
  • Magic Apple — 300,000 XP
  • Dragonfruit — 1,000,000 XP

The best option for you depends on how much Cash you have and which Food Items are currently available in the shop.

Food provides a convenient way to increase Pet XP in Ride a Pet without relying entirely on normal Pet progression. You can buy everything from inexpensive Grass to the much more expensive Dragonfruit, with each rarity providing a different amount of XP.

If you want to collect rarer Food Items, keep an eye on the Food Stand’s restocks or use Auto-Buy after purchasing the food at least once. This can make it much easier to stock up on high-XP food while you continue playing.
