CloverFall Grimoire Tier List: Best Grimoires to Use!

Choosing the right Grimoire in CloverFall can make a big difference once you start fighting stronger enemies. Each Grimoire has its own spells, mastery requirements, and upgrade path, so some are much better for combat than others.

The rarest Grimoires are not automatically the easiest to use. Some require a lot of mastery and expensive materials before their strongest ability becomes available. Because of that, it is worth looking at the complete Grimoire tier list before spending resources on one.

CloverFall Grimoire Tier List

Here is a simple ranking based on the Grimoires currently listed in the game:

  • S Tier: Anti-Magic, Darkness, Wind
  • A Tier: Light, Fire
  • B Tier: Lightning, Water
  • C Tier: Heal, Air

The Mythic and Legendary Grimoires generally have the strongest potential, while Epic and Rare options are easier to obtain but have lower overall power.

S Tier Grimoires

Anti-Magic

Anti-Magic is the Mythic Grimoire and is one of the strongest choices available in CloverFall. It comes with several powerful sword-based attacks and gets even better as you increase its mastery.

Its skills include:

  • Z – Demon-Slayer Slash: Requires 1 Mastery
  • X – Twin Slash: Requires 30 Mastery
  • C – Black Meteor: Requires 65 Mastery
  • V – Demon Rush: Requires 140 Mastery
  • G – Cutscene: Requires 250 Mastery

The final ability is especially expensive to unlock. You need 5 Royal Mana Crystals, 3 Astral Ore, 3 Royal Leviathan Scales, 1 Celestial Pearl, and 3 Anti-Magic Cores alongside the mastery requirement.

If you manage to unlock Anti-Magic, it is an excellent long-term Grimoire for players who want a powerful endgame build.

Darkness

Darkness is one of the strongest Legendary Grimoires and offers a mix of sword attacks and mobility. Its abilities make it useful for players who want strong damage while also having tools to move around during fights.

The moves are:

  • Z – Dark Cloaked Black Blade: Requires 1 Mastery
  • X – Dark Cloaked Slash: Requires 30 Mastery
  • C – Dark Cloak: Vanish: Requires 75 Mastery
  • V – Dimensional Slash: Requires 120 Mastery
  • G – Cutscene: Requires 200 Mastery

Its final ability requires 20 Arcane Ore, 6 Royal Mana Crystals, 8 Starfin Fish, 1 Royal Leviathan Scale, and 5 Dark Cores.

Darkness is a strong choice if you want a Grimoire that remains useful as you progress.

Wind

Wind is another Legendary Grimoire that deserves a spot near the top. Its skills focus heavily on fast attacks and area damage, making it useful when fighting groups of enemies.

Its skill list includes:

  • Z – Spirit Storm: Requires 1 Mastery
  • X – Gale Rush: Requires 30 Mastery
  • C – Wind Blast: Requires 70 Mastery
  • V – Tornado: Requires 130 Mastery
  • G – Cutscene: Requires 250 Mastery

The G ability requires 5 Arcane Ore, 5 Royal Mana Crystals, 2 Astral Ore, 1 Royal Leviathan Scale, 1 Celestial Pearl, and 3 Wind Cores.

Wind is a good pick for players who prefer fast combat and attacks that can cover a larger area.

A Tier Grimoires

Light

Light is an Epic Grimoire that has a very solid offensive skill set. It gives you several ranged attacks, allowing you to deal damage without always standing directly next to your target.

Its abilities are:

  • Z – Radiant Bolt: Requires 1 Mastery
  • X – Light Arrow: Requires 30 Mastery
  • C – Divine Descent: Requires 75 Mastery
  • V – Sacred Beam: Requires 105 Mastery
  • G – Cutscene: Requires 200 Mastery

The final skill requires 18 Obsidian Ore, 10 Arcane Ore, 10 Starfin Fish, 3 Royal Leviathan Scales, and 5 Light Cores.

Light is one of the better Epic choices and can be a good option if you do not have access to the Legendary Grimoires yet.

Fire

Fire is another Epic Grimoire with a straightforward damage-focused kit. It has multiple explosive attacks and is useful for players who simply want to deal damage.

Its moves are:

  • Z – Exploding Fireball: Requires 1 Mastery
  • X – Killer Rush Ball: Requires 25 Mastery
  • C – Flame Ball Cannonball: Requires 60 Mastery
  • V – Crazy Cyclone: Requires 90 Mastery
  • G – Cutscene: Requires 200 Mastery

Unlocking the final skill requires 20 Mana Ore, 10 Crystal Ore, 10 Golden Pike, 5 Arcane Eel, and 5 Flame Cores.

Fire is a good choice for players who want an easy-to-understand offensive Grimoire without relying on complicated mechanics.

B Tier Grimoires

Lightning

Lightning is a Rare Grimoire with a good mix of direct attacks and movement. It can still perform well, especially while you are working toward a higher-rarity Grimoire.

Its abilities include:

  • Z – Thunder Lance: Requires 1 Mastery
  • X – Thunder Step: Requires 30 Mastery
  • C – Chain Lightning: Requires 65 Mastery
  • V – Thunder Fall: Requires 95 Mastery
  • G – Cutscene: Requires 200 Mastery

The G ability requires 18 Crystal Ore, 10 Obsidian Ore, 10 Arcane Eel, 5 Starfin Fish, and 5 Lightning Cores.

Lightning is worth using if you obtain it early, but players looking for the strongest long-term option may eventually want to move to an Epic or Legendary Grimoire.

Water

Water is another Rare Grimoire. Its abilities provide a mixture of ranged attacks and larger attacks that can help against multiple enemies.

The skill set includes:

  • Z – Water Ball: Requires 1 Mastery
  • X – Tidal Fall: Requires 30 Mastery
  • C – Sea Dragon’s Roar: Requires 65 Mastery
  • V – Water Cannon: Requires 95 Mastery
  • G – Cutscene: Requires 200 Mastery

Its final skill requires 20 Silver Ore, 10 Mana Ore, 12 Mana Salmon, 6 Crystal Koi, and 5 Water Cores.

Water is a decent choice for early and mid-game progression, although it does not have the same overall potential as the higher-tier Grimoires.

C Tier Grimoires

Heal

Heal is an Uncommon Grimoire designed around recovery and support rather than pure damage.

Its skills are:

  • Z – Healing Light: Requires 1 Mastery
  • X – Healing Circle: Requires 25 Mastery
  • C – Blessing of Life: Requires 50 Mastery

Heal can be useful when survivability is more important than damage. However, its limited skill list means it is not the best option for players who want to clear enemies as quickly as possible.

Still, Heal can be useful for newer players who are having trouble staying alive during fights.

Air

Air is also an Uncommon Grimoire. It has a simple three-skill kit that is easy to understand, but it lacks the larger progression and ability variety found in higher-rarity Grimoires.

Its skills are:

  • Z – Air Bullet: Requires 1 Mastery
  • X – Air Burst: Requires 25 Mastery
  • C – Gale Cannon: Requires 50 Mastery

Air can work as an early-game option, but you should consider replacing it when you get access to a stronger Grimoire.

  • Enoteca
  • Roulacase
  • Sandler

The Uncommon Grimoire group includes:

  • Crossley
  • Roselle
  • Staria

These names are separate from the elemental Grimoires listed above and are part of the game’s Grimoire rarity system.

What Is the Best Grimoire in CloverFall?

If you are looking purely at overall potential, Anti-Magic is the best Grimoire to aim for. It is the Mythic option and has a powerful set of attacks that continues to improve as you increase its mastery.

For players who do not have Anti-Magic, Darkness and Wind are strong alternatives. Both are Legendary Grimoires and have more advanced skill sets than the lower-rarity options.

If you are still progressing through the early game, Light and Fire are worth using. They are Epic Grimoires with strong offensive abilities and are easier targets than the Mythic option.

Which Grimoire Should Beginners Use?

Beginners should not worry too much about getting the absolute best Grimoire immediately. Your first goal should be finding something that helps you level up and complete quests without wasting too many resources.

If you get Light or Fire, you can comfortably use them while progressing. Lightning and Water are also fine if they are the options available to you.

Once you have better resources and enough mastery, you can start aiming for the higher-rarity Grimoires.

How Mastery Affects Grimoires

Mastery is important because your Grimoire does not give you every skill immediately. You need to level its mastery before unlocking stronger attacks.

For example, Anti-Magic starts with Demon-Slayer Slash at 1 Mastery, while its Demon Rush requires 140 Mastery. Its final G ability goes even further, requiring 250 Mastery plus several rare materials.

This means you should not judge a Grimoire only by its first skill. Some Grimoires become much stronger after you invest enough time into mastering them.

Anti-Magic is the main Grimoire to chase if you want the strongest option. Darkness and Wind are excellent Legendary alternatives, while Light and Fire are reliable Epic choices for progressing through the game. Your best choice can still depend on your playstyle. If you prefer damage, focus on offensive Grimoires. If you want more survivability, Heal can have some value even though it ranks lower overall.
