CloverFall Skill Tree Explained, Strength, Endurance and Grimoire

The Skill Tree is one of the main systems you will use to make your character stronger in CloverFall. Simply increasing your level is not enough, because you also need to spend the Skill Points you earn to improve the stats that match your build.

CloverFall gives you three main Skill Tree paths to choose from: Strength, Endurance, and Grimoire. Each path improves a different part of your character, so your choice should depend on how you want to fight.

How the Skill Tree Works

You receive Skill Points, or SP, as you level up in CloverFall. These points can be invested into nodes within the Skill Tree. The available paths are:

  • Strength – Focuses on physical combat.
  • Endurance – Improves health and stamina.
  • Grimoire – Improves magic-based combat.

You can unlock and upgrade specific nodes to increase individual stats. This allows you to build your character around the type of damage or playstyle you prefer. Because SP is connected to your level progression, you should avoid spending points randomly. Try to focus on the stats that support your main source of damage.

Strength Skill Tree

The Strength path is designed for players who prefer physical combat. Investing points into Strength improves three major types of damage:

  • Melee Damage
  • Weapon Damage
  • Fighting Style Damage

This makes Strength a good choice for characters who spend most of their time attacking with melee weapons, weapons, or Fighting Styles. For example, if you are building a character around melee combat, putting most of your SP into Strength will give you better damage than spreading your points across unrelated magic-focused upgrades. Strength is also a good option for players who do not want their Grimoire to be their main source of damage.

Endurance Skill Tree

Endurance is focused on survivability and stamina management rather than directly increasing your attack damage. The path improves:

  • Health
  • Health Regeneration
  • Stamina Capacity

More Health allows you to survive more attacks, while Health Regeneration helps you recover after taking damage. Stamina Capacity gives you a larger resource pool for actions and abilities that consume stamina. Endurance can be especially useful for newer players who are still learning enemy attack patterns. Having more health gives you more room for mistakes during difficult fights.

It can also work well for players who frequently run out of stamina.

Grimoire Skill Tree

The Grimoire path is the main option for magic-focused characters. It improves several important parts of Grimoire combat:

  • Grimoire Damage
  • Grimoire Cooldown
  • Grimoire Critical Damage
  • Grimoire Critical Rate

If your Grimoire is your main source of damage, this is likely to be one of your most important Skill Tree paths. The additional Grimoire Damage increases your basic magic damage, while cooldown improvements allow you to use abilities more often.

The critical bonuses can also increase the damage potential of your Grimoire when your attacks land critical hits.

Which Skill Tree Should You Choose?

There is no single path that is perfect for every CloverFall player. Your choice should match your build.

  • For Melee builds, Strength is the obvious starting point because it directly increases Melee Damage.
  • For Weapon builds, Strength is also useful because it increases Weapon Damage.
  • For Fighting Style builds, Strength provides the most relevant bonuses.
  • For Grimoire builds, the Grimoire path should be your main focus because it directly increases magic damage and improves Grimoire abilities.
  • For defensive builds, Endurance can help you survive longer and maintain your stamina during extended fights.

Should You Put Points Into Every Path?

You can use different Skill Tree nodes, but spreading your SP too widely may make your character less effective at its main role. For example, if you are building a Grimoire-focused character, investing heavily into Strength may not give you much value unless you also rely on melee or weapon attacks.

A more focused build usually makes it easier to maximize the stats that matter most to you. That does not mean you should completely ignore the other paths. Endurance can still be useful for a damage-focused character because additional Health and Stamina can improve survivability.

Best Skill Tree for Beginners

If you are new to CloverFall, start by deciding what you enjoy using in combat. A simple setup is:

  • Melee player: Focus on Strength.
  • Weapon player: Focus on Strength.
  • Fighting Style player: Focus on Strength.
  • Magic player: Focus on Grimoire.
  • Survival-focused player: Invest more into Endurance.

If you are still testing different Grimoires and weapons, you can use a more balanced setup until you know which playstyle you want to commit to.

Skill Tree Tips

Do not spend your SP without checking what each node provides. Some upgrades may be much more useful for your build than others. It is also a good idea to consider your Grimoire, weapon, and Fighting Style together. A character using a powerful Grimoire should generally benefit more from Grimoire upgrades, while a melee character will get more value from Strength.

Endurance should not be completely ignored either. Extra health and stamina can make a noticeable difference when fighting stronger NPCs, bosses, or dungeon waves.

The CloverFall Skill Tree gives you control over how your character develops. Strength is built around Melee Damage, Weapon Damage, and Fighting Style Damage, while Endurance improves Health, Health Regeneration, and Stamina Capacity.

The Grimoire path is the main choice for magic users, offering better Grimoire Damage, cooldowns, and critical stats.

The best approach is to spend your SP around your main source of damage instead of trying to maximize everything at once. Once you know whether your character is focused on melee, weapons, Fighting Styles, or Grimoires, choosing the right Skill Tree becomes much easier.
