How to Get Hu Tao in Anime Zero: Spirited Away Raid Guide
Anime Zero has received its new Spirited Away update, bringing a new raid, several new rewards, unit storage, combat changes, quality-of-life improvements, and new redeemable codes. One of the biggest additions is Hu Tao, a new limited unit that can only be obtained from the new raid.
If you want to get Hu Tao, you will need to prepare for Nightmare difficulty and farm the Spirited Away raid. Here is everything you need to know about the new raid, Hu Tao’s drop chance, new items, codes, and the important changes added with the update.
How to Get Hu Tao in Anime Zero
Hu Tao is the main new unit added with the Spirited Away update. Unlike units that can be obtained through the regular summon system, Hu Tao is tied directly to the new Spirited Away raid.
This means you cannot simply spend your normal weapon or unit spins to get her. You need to enter the raid and keep farming it until Hu Tao drops.
The important Hu Tao details are:
- Unit: Hu Tao
- Source: Spirited Away Raid
- Difficulty: Nightmare
- Drop Chance: 2%
- Pity: 35 runs
- Normal Summons: Not available
With a 2% drop chance, Hu Tao is not guaranteed to appear quickly. The 35 pity system is therefore important for players who plan to farm her seriously.
How to Unlock the Spirited Away Raid

The Spirited Away raid is the main activity of the update. It takes place inside a bathhouse-themed area inspired by Spirited Away, with several enemies appearing before the final encounter.
The raid is only available on Nightmare difficulty, so you should not jump into it with an unprepared build. Make sure your units, weapons, traits, and skill tree are strong enough to handle the enemies.
The basic raid progression involves:
- Entering the Spirited Away raid.
- Fighting through the bathhouse area.
- Defeating the enemies appearing throughout the waves.
- Reaching the final encounter.
- Fighting No Face.
- Completing the raid for rewards.
- Repeating the raid to farm Hu Tao and other drops.
Since Hu Tao has only a 2% drop chance, you should expect to run the raid multiple times.
Spirited Away Raid Drops
Hu Tao is not the only reward available from the new raid. There are also two additional drops that can make the farming process worthwhile.
The main rewards include:
- Hu Tao: 2% drop chance, 35 pity.
- Staff of Homa: 25% drop chance, 5 pity.
- Ghost: 33% drop chance, with 1 to 3 obtained per drop.
- Coins.
- Gems.
The Staff of Homa has a considerably higher drop chance than Hu Tao, while Ghost can provide between one and three items when it drops.
Because the raid gives multiple rewards, you are still making progress even when Hu Tao does not appear.
Prepare Your Build Before Farming
Since Spirited Away is locked behind Nightmare difficulty, preparation matters. Your weapons, traits, and skill tree should be in good shape before you start farming.
A weak build can turn each run into a long struggle, which becomes especially annoying when you need to complete many runs for a 2% Hu Tao chance.
Before farming, check your:
- Main weapon.
- Unit setup.
- Traits.
- Skill tree.
- Damage output.
- Survivability.
- Boss fighting ability.
The goal is not just to survive the raid. You want to clear it efficiently so you can complete more attempts toward the 35-run pity.
Use the New Unit Storage System
The update finally adds unit storage, giving players more control over their units. When obtaining a new unit, you can decide where it should go or keep it stored for later use.
This is useful if you receive a unit that you want to test without immediately replacing your current setup.
It also makes collecting units less frustrating because you have more flexibility when managing your roster. If you are farming Hu Tao while already using a complete team, you can keep the new unit stored until you are ready to test her.
New Summon and Trait Menus
The summon and trait reroll menus have also been redesigned. These changes make the different options easier to understand when you are trying to improve your units.
There is also a new Keep Traits list that sorts traits by rarity. Before rerolling, check the list and select the traits you want to protect.
This is especially useful if you have already obtained a valuable trait and do not want to accidentally replace it during another reroll.
New Spins Game Pass
Anime Zero has also added a new spins game pass designed for players who perform a lot of summons and trait rolls.
The pass skips the summon and trait roll animations, allowing you to move through multiple rolls faster. This can be useful for players who frequently spend large amounts of their resources on rerolling.
It does not change the actual results of your rolls. Instead, it simply removes some of the waiting time between them.
New Titles and Awakened Title Change
A new title called Paramed has been added with the update. There is also a change to how the Awakened title is unlocked.
You can now receive the Awakened title after awakening your first unit. If you had already completed a title requirement before the update but did not receive the title, check your collection after joining the game.
Previously completed requirements should now properly grant the corresponding titles.
Anime Zero Combat Changes

The update also improves the basic combat experience. Basic attacks now buffer into each other more smoothly, making combat feel less interrupted when performing consecutive attacks.
The dash animation has also been improved, while the downtime between waves has been reduced. This means you should spend less time standing around waiting for the next group of enemies.
Several enemy behaviors have changed as well. Enemies can now ragdoll after taking heavy hits, while their movement has been adjusted so they do not always pile together in the same way.
Because of this, pay more attention to enemy positioning during fights.
How Group XP Works Now
Experience from kills has also been changed for multiplayer sessions. Instead of simply relying on the final hit, experience is now shared based on the amount of damage each player contributes.
This makes attacking enemies important even when you are playing alongside stronger players.
If another player is doing most of the damage, do not simply stand back and wait for the enemy to die. Continue attacking and contribute as much damage as possible so you can receive your share of the experience.
Boss Fight Changes
Boss encounters have received several changes to make their attacks easier to understand.
Attack warnings are now shown in red, giving you a clearer visual signal when you need to react. The HUD also disappears during boss cutscenes, making those moments less cluttered.
Some boss attacks have been changed as well. Haka’s card attack has been adjusted so it can be dodged, while Shadow King’s rock attack now involves him jumping toward the player.
When fighting Shadow King, watch his movement instead of focusing only on attack indicators.
New Quest and Lobby Features
The lobby has received several quality-of-life changes that make the game easier to navigate.
One of the most useful additions is a Claim All button for quests. Instead of collecting every completed quest reward individually, you can now collect them together.
The lobby also includes an update log, allowing players to check recent changes directly inside the game.
New players will also receive a quick lobby tour with tips when opening menus for the first time. This should make it easier for new players to understand where the game’s different systems are located.
Anime Zero Update Fixes
The update includes a number of smaller fixes and performance improvements. Translations have been improved across supported languages, while tooltips should no longer remain stuck on the screen.
Some environmental problems have also been fixed. Invisible walls around fires in the Hunter x Hunter area have been removed, and enemies should no longer stand on top of certain props.
Performance has also been improved when large numbers of money drops appear during combat. This should help reduce performance issues during busy fights.
New Anime Zero Codes
Before you start farming the Spirited Away raid, make sure you redeem the two new codes if your account meets their level requirements.
The first code is:
- Code: NURADE
- Rewards: 100 Trait Rolls, 75,000 Coins, 10,000 Gems
- Requirement: Level 50
The second code is:
- Code: SORRYFORDLY
- Rewards: 50 Trait Rolls, 25,000 Coins, 5,000 Gems
- Requirement: Level 25
If you can redeem both codes, you will receive a total of:
- 150 Trait Rolls.
- 100,000 Coins.
- 15,000 Gems.
These rewards can be useful before starting your Hu Tao farming session, especially if you still need to improve your traits or overall setup.
Best Way to Farm Hu Tao
The best approach is to prepare your build first and then focus entirely on completing Nightmare Spirited Away runs as efficiently as possible.
Since Hu Tao has a 2% chance and a pity of 35, you should think about the farming process as a long-term grind rather than expecting an early drop.
Use your time between runs to improve your traits, weapons, and skill tree. Also remember to claim your quest rewards and use the new codes before spending your resources.
The main farming routine is:
- Redeem both available codes.
- Improve your traits and equipment.
- Prepare a Nightmare-ready build.
- Enter Spirited Away.
- Clear the bathhouse waves.
- Defeat No Face.
- Collect the raid rewards.
- Repeat the raid.
- Keep track of your pity progress.
- Continue until Hu Tao drops.
The Spirited Away update gives Anime Zero a new farming target with Hu Tao, alongside the Staff of Homa, Ghost, and additional coins and gems from the new raid. Hu Tao’s 2% drop chance makes her a rare reward, but the 35-run pity gives dedicated players a clear target while farming.
The new unit storage, improved trait menus, combat changes, quest Claim All button, and new codes also make the update useful beyond the raid itself. If your goal is Hu Tao, prepare your Nightmare build first, redeem the available codes, and focus on completing as many efficient Spirited Away runs as possible.
