The Mechanic’s Shop is a limited-time event in A Dusty Trip. During the event, you can collect a new currency called Nuts & Bolts and exchange it for exclusive rewards. The biggest reward is the Kairo 7, a Legendary sports car. You can also get weapons, a helmet, a car skin, a grenade, and a cosmetic charm. The event ends on October 4, 2026, so you have limited time to collect enough Nuts & Bolts.
How to Start the Mechanic’s Shop Event
You do not need to complete a quest or reach a certain level to join the event. Look for Pit Crew Pete in the center of the A Dusty Trip lobby. Talk to him to open the Mechanic’s Shop. The shop shows all six rewards, including their Nuts & Bolts prices and Robux prices. Once you find Pete, you can start farming the event immediately.
How to Get Nuts & Bolts
There are two main ways to get Nuts & Bolts:
- Defeat Red-Helmet Mutants.
- Find and loot Toolboxes.
Both methods can give you event currency, but defeating mutants is much faster if you want to farm a large amount.
Kill Red-Helmet Mutants
Red-Helmet Mutants are the best source of Nuts & Bolts. You will find these mutants around the desert. Instead of looking for them one by one, try to find areas where several mutants spawn close together.
Ghost Town is a good location because you can fight multiple mutants in the same area. Use your strongest weapon to kill them faster. The Kairo 7 costs 1,000 Nuts & Bolts, so you will need a lot of kills if you want to get it through farming. A stronger weapon can save a lot of time during a long farming session.
Loot Toolboxes
Toolboxes can also give Nuts & Bolts. They can appear around different Points of Interest, including houses, garages, and other buildings in the desert. Each Toolbox gives around 20 Nuts & Bolts. You should loot Toolboxes whenever you see them during a run, but they should not be your main farming method.
The Kairo 7 costs 1,000 Nuts & Bolts, which means you would need around 50 Toolboxes to get enough currency from Toolboxes alone. Since Toolboxes do not appear often enough, farming Red-Helmet Mutants is usually much faster.
All Mechanic’s Shop Rewards
There are six rewards available in the Mechanic’s Shop.
- Kairo 7 — Legendary — 1,000 Nuts & Bolts or 319 Robux
- Junkyard Shotgun — Uncommon — 400 Nuts & Bolts or 79 Robux
- Checkered Heat Wrap — Rare — 300 Nuts & Bolts or 59 Robux
- Ancient Visor — Epic — 200 Nuts & Bolts or 55 Robux
- Shrapnel Grenade — Rare — 130 Nuts & Bolts or 39 Robux
- Checkered Flags Charm — Uncommon — 79 Nuts & Bolts or 19 Robux
Buying everything requires 2,109 Nuts & Bolts. If you want to skip the farming, the full shop costs 570 Robux.
Which Reward Should You Buy First?
The Kairo 7 should be your first target. It is the only Legendary reward in the shop and is a permanent unlock. Since the event is limited-time, getting the car before spending your currency on smaller rewards is a good idea.
After getting the Kairo 7, the Ancient Visor is another useful choice. The Ancient Visor costs 200 Nuts & Bolts and can save you from lethal damage once. This can be very useful during a long run when you do not want to lose all your progress.
The Junkyard Shotgun and Shrapnel Grenade are useful, but keep in mind that event weapons are handled differently. They are stored normally and will be removed after the event ends. If you want the best long-term reward, prioritize the Kairo 7 first.
Kairo 7 Car Stats
The Kairo 7 is the main reward from the Mechanic’s Shop. Its important stats are:
- Top Speed: 234 km/h
- Fuel Tank: 30 liters
- Water: 5 liters
- Engine: 4 liters
The car costs 1,000 Nuts & Bolts or 319 Robux. Since it is a Legendary vehicle and a permanent unlock, it is the main item to farm for during the Mechanic’s Shop event.
Best Way to Farm the Event
If you want to get the Kairo 7 without spending Robux, focus on Red-Helmet Mutants. A simple farming method is:
- Prepare your strongest weapon.
- Travel to an area with several Red-Helmet Mutants.
- Defeat the mutants as quickly as possible.
- Collect the Nuts & Bolts they drop.
- Loot Toolboxes whenever you find them.
- Repeat the process until you reach 1,000 Nuts & Bolts.
- Return to Pit Crew Pete and buy the Kairo 7.
Do not waste too much time searching for Toolboxes. They are useful as extra currency, but mutant farming should give you a more consistent supply.
The Mechanic’s Shop gives A Dusty Trip players a simple way to earn limited-time rewards without relying on a prize spin system. You can collect Nuts & Bolts by fighting Red-Helmet Mutants and searching Toolboxes across the desert. If you only want one reward, focus on the Kairo 7. It is the most valuable item in the shop and the only Legendary reward. With the event ending on October 4, 2026, start farming early if you want to unlock the Kairo 7 without spending Robux.
