Break and Steal an Egg Pickaxes Guide!
Pickaxes are an important part of your progress in Break and Steal an Egg because they determine how quickly you can break eggs. A stronger pickaxe can make repeated runs much faster, but upgrading is not always the first thing you should spend your money on.
The best time to upgrade is when breaking the egg has become the slowest part of your usual route. If you are already breaking eggs quickly but spending more time running, escaping guards, or managing your Pen, a stronger pickaxe may not give you the biggest improvement.
How Pickaxes Work
Each pickaxe has a Power value that affects the breaking phase of a run. Higher Power means you can damage eggs more effectively and finish the break phase faster.
For example, the starting Wooden Pickaxe only has 1 Power, while stronger tools can reach millions or even billions of Power. This creates a large difference between early-game and late-game runs.
Before buying a new pickaxe, pay attention to how long it takes to break the egg. If most of your run is spent hitting the egg, upgrading your tool should be a priority.

Which Pickaxe Should You Get?
There is no single pickaxe that is always the best choice for every player. Your current progression and route speed matter more than simply owning the highest Power tool.
Early players should focus on moving through the first few upgrades without spending too much on a tool that does not solve their main problem. Once egg breaking becomes noticeably slower, a stronger pickaxe can make each run much more efficient.
Later in the game, the difference between millions and billions of Power becomes much more important. At this point, upgrading your pickaxe can save a large amount of time if you regularly break stronger eggs.
When Should You Upgrade?
Try timing each part of your normal run. Check whether you spend more time on:
- Breaking the egg
- Moving between locations
- Escaping the guard
- Carrying the animal back
- Placing animals in your Pen
If breaking the egg takes the longest, upgrade your Pickaxe. If movement is the problem, Speed or a better Trail may be more useful. If your Pen is constantly full, increasing its capacity can improve your overall progress instead.
This approach helps prevent wasting money on upgrades that do not actually make your runs faster.
Check the Shop Before Buying
Pickaxe prices and Robux offers can change after updates. Because of this, the captured Power list should be used mainly to understand the progression between tools rather than as a permanent price guide.
Always check the current in-game shop before spending your money or Robux. The Power values can help you decide which tier you want to reach, while the live shop tells you what the upgrade currently costs.
Tips for Faster Runs
A good Pickaxe is only one part of a fast run. Try to improve the part of the route that causes the biggest delay. If breaking is slow, focus on Pickaxe Power. If you spend too much time traveling, improve Speed and consider using a better Trail. If you frequently have nowhere to put a newly stolen animal, upgrade your Pen. The goal is to make the entire route faster rather than simply collecting stronger equipment.
Pickaxes can greatly reduce the time needed to break eggs in Break and Steal an Egg, especially as you reach stronger eggs later in the game. The captured progression goes from the 1 Power Wooden Pickaxe all the way to the 25B Power Celestial Pickaxe.
However, the strongest tool is not automatically the best upgrade for your current situation. Watch your normal run, find the slowest step, and spend your resources on fixing that bottleneck first. Check the live shop for current prices and offers before making any purchase.
