How to Get The Last Great Mage in A Universal Time
To start the quest, find the Elven Mage NPC near West Station. Talk to her to begin the process of obtaining The Last Great Mage. She will ask about Grimoires before giving you a task involving Mimics.
Follow the steps below to complete the quest:
- Find the Elven Mage near West Station and talk to her.
- Accept her request to find Grimoires and defeat Mimics.
- Defeat three Mimics and collect three Grimoires.
- Return to the Elven Mage with the required items.
- Complete the Slayer Quest from Hecate and defeat Lügner the Deceiver.
- Craft a Magical Vessel and bring it to the Elven Mage.
- Receive the Enchanted Magical Vessel from her.
- Go to the Boss Altar and use the Enchanted Magical Vessel to summon the Mirror Demon.
- Defeat the Mirror Demon and obtain the Ancient Grimoire it drops.
- Bring the Ancient Grimoire to the Elven Mage.
- Receive the Mage’s Staff and use it on Standless to unlock The Last Great Mage.
Make sure you complete each task in order. The Elven Mage will guide you through the quest, while the required items and boss fights are important steps toward obtaining the ability.
Where to Find Mimics in A Universal Time
One of the first challenges is finding three Mimics. These enemies have a chance to appear when players open Antique Chests, so you may need to search several locations before finding enough of them.
Antique Chests can spawn in the following areas:
- Dragon’s Cavern
- Directly in front of Dragon’s Cavern
- Prison
- Near West Park
Check these locations for Antique Chests and open them to look for Mimics. Since the chests only have a chance to spawn Mimics, you may need to repeat the process until you defeat three enemies and collect the required Grimoires.
Once you have the items, return to the Elven Mage to continue the quest.
How to Defeat Lügner the Deceiver
After completing the Mimic task, the Elven Mage will ask you to deal with a dangerous fiend. This part of the quest requires you to defeat Lügner the Deceiver, who can be summoned through the Slayer Quest obtained from Hecate.
You must complete the relevant Slayer Quest before you can progress through this stage. Once Lügner the Deceiver has been defeated, return to the Elven Mage and continue with the next objective.
There are also hostile Demons that spawn at Syrup Village and Floating Village. These enemies are connected to progression in Lügner the Deceiver’s Slayer Quest, so defeat them if you need to advance that quest.
How to Summon and Defeat the Mirror Demon
The Mirror Demon is the final major boss in The Last Great Mage quest. Before you can summon it, you must craft a Magical Vessel and bring it to the Elven Mage. She will enchant the item, turning it into an Enchanted Magical Vessel.
Take the enchanted item to the Boss Altar and use it to summon the Mirror Demon. Prepare for a difficult battle, as defeating this boss is necessary to obtain the Ancient Grimoire.
After winning the fight, collect the Ancient Grimoire dropped by the Mirror Demon and bring it back to the Elven Mage. She will reward you with the Mage’s Staff, which is the final item required to unlock The Last Great Mage.
Use the Mage’s Staff on Standless to obtain the Mythic ability.
How to Unlock The Slayer Awakening Move
After obtaining The Last Great Mage, you can unlock an additional move by completing its mastery requirement. The task is straightforward, but you must use the correct ability during the boss fight.
