How to Start the Rescue Nate Quest in Fisch

To begin the Rescue Nate quest, travel to Sunstone Island and locate Nate’s Cave behind the Merlin Witch NPC. The entrance is on a small cliff at the following coordinates:

  • GPS: (-914.0, 207.4, -1027.8)

Enter the cave and approach Miso, the cat waiting near the desk. Miso will explain the situation and direct you toward a computer that requires a four-part PIN. Each player has a different combination, so you must find the four clues inside the area rather than using another player’s code.

PIN 1: Find the First Symbol

The first clue is located on top of a stool near the bedroom, to the left of the computer. Examine the symbol carefully and remember it because you will need to enter the four symbols in the correct order.

The symbol can differ between players, so do not assume that your first PIN clue will match a guide’s example. Once you have recorded it, continue searching the room for the remaining three clues.

PIN 2: Check the Bookshelf

For the second clue, head downstairs and look behind the sofa. You should find a bookshelf containing the next symbol needed for the computer PIN.

Record the symbol in the second position. Make sure you do not confuse this clue with the first one, as the computer requires the symbols to be entered in the same order in which you discover them.

PIN 3: Search the Car

The third clue is located inside the car near the entrance to Nate’s Cave. Check the front seat to find the symbol you need.

After identifying it, add the symbol to the third position in your sequence. You can then return toward the computer area to locate the final clue.

PIN 4: Inspect the Computer Table

The fourth and final symbol is on the left side of the computer table. Examine the table closely and record the last symbol before returning to the computer.

Once you have collected all four clues, enter the symbols in their correct order. This completes the initial PIN puzzle and allows you to continue the Rescue Nate quest.

How to Restore Nate’s Blade in Fisch

After solving the PIN puzzle, your next objective is to restore Nate’s Blade. This requires two special items: the Broken Blade and the Crimson Centerpiece.

Both items come from different locations and have different acquisition methods. The Broken Blade is hidden inside the Depths Maze, while the Crimson Centerpiece is obtained as a rare secondary drop in Crimson Cavern.

How to Get the Broken Blade

The Broken Blade is located deep inside the Depths Maze. Before reaching it, you must access Vertigo through a Strange Whirlpool and obtain the Depth Key.

Follow these steps to find the Broken Blade:

  1. Locate a Strange Whirlpool when one appears in the ocean.
  2. Jump into the whirlpool to enter Vertigo.
  3. Fish until you obtain the Depth Key.
  4. Use the key to unlock the entrance to the Depths.
  5. Bring a Hexed Enchanted Relic and an Abyssal Enchant Relic to the Depths Maze entrance.
  6. Travel to the underground opening at GPS (1163.4, -730.1, 1325.4).
  7. Enter the maze and navigate through it until you reach the statue holding the Rod of Depths.
  8. Pick up the Broken Blade near the statue at GPS (1705, -900, 1445).

The maze can be confusing if you are unfamiliar with the area, so pay attention to your surroundings as you move through the underground passages. Make sure you have both required relics before entering the maze area.

How to Get the Crimson Centerpiece

Unlike the Broken Blade, the Crimson Centerpiece is obtained through fishing. You need to travel to Desolate Deep and enter Crimson Cavern, which requires you to complete the Crimson Guard’s quest first.

Once you have access to Crimson Cavern, equip a suitable fishing rod, such as the Scavenger Rod, and fish for the Crimson Centerpiece. It is a rare secondary drop with an approximately 1-in-8 chance, so you may need multiple attempts before obtaining it.

Follow these steps:

  1. Use your Traveler’s Whistle to travel to Desolate Deep.
  2. Complete the Crimson Guard’s quest if you have not already done so.
  3. Enter Crimson Cavern.
  4. Equip the Scavenger Rod or another suitable rod.
  5. Continue fishing until the Crimson Centerpiece drops.

After obtaining both items, return to Nate’s Cave on Sunstone Island. Place the Broken Blade and Crimson Centerpiece on the table in front of the sofa to restore Nate’s Blade.

How to Get Unrestricted Nate’s Blade in Fisch

Restoring Nate’s Blade is only the beginning. To unlock its Unrestricted form, you must complete a series of fishing and collection challenges. These objectives require you to perfect-catch specific fish, catch Colossal Squid, and complete a large checklist of original Fisch content.

The quest is divided into multiple parts, with the first three focusing on fishing challenges at different locations. The fourth part is significantly longer and requires extensive progress across rods, titles, boats, lanterns, badges, enchantments, and weather conditions.

Part 1: Perfect Catch All 10 Fish at Moosewood Dock

For the first challenge, you must perfect-catch 10 specified fish at Moosewood Dock. Pay attention to each fish’s preferred bait, season, time, and weather because the conditions can affect which catches are available.

The following list contains the required fish and their stated conditions.

  • Anchovy (Common): Any bait, Spring, Day.
  • Largemouth Bass (Common): Worm, Spring or Summer, Rain.
  • Red Snapper (Common): Any bait, Summer or Autumn, Any time and weather.
  • Sockeye Salmon (Common): Bagel, Autumn or Winter, Rain.
  • Trout (Common): Insect, Any season, Clear weather.
  • Yellowfin Tuna (Uncommon): Any bait, Summer, Any time and weather.
  • Eel (Unusual): Any bait, Any season, Night.
  • Flounder (Unusual): Squid, Any season, Night, Windy weather.
  • Snook (Unusual): Shrimp, Spring, Clear or Foggy weather.
  • Whiptail Catfish (Legendary): Seaweed, Spring or Autumn, Night.

Use the conditions above as a checklist while fishing at the dock. If a fish is not appearing, check whether the current season, time, or weather matches its requirements before continuing.

Part 2: Perfect Catch 10 Fish at Roslit Volcano

The second challenge takes place at Roslit Volcano. You must perfect-catch 10 listed fish or items with Mythical rarity or lower, following the requirements specified for each entry.

Some catches require Coal or Magnet, while others can be obtained using different bait options. Since the conditions vary, prepare the appropriate bait before starting your fishing session.

Required catches and conditions:

  • Basalt (Trash): Magnet, any season, time, and weather.
  • Rock (Trash): Any bait, any season, time, and weather.
  • Magma Tang (Uncommon): Coal, Spring or Summer, Day.
  • Ember Perch (Unusual): Coal, Summer, Clear weather.
  • Ember Snapper (Unusual): Coal, Summer, any time and weather.
  • Pyrogrub (Rare): Coal, Winter, any time and weather.
  • Quality Bait Crate (Rare): Any bait, any season, time, and weather.
  • Volcanic Geode (Rare): Magnet, any season, time, and weather.
  • Obsidian Salmon (Legendary): Coal, Winter, Night.
  • Obsidian Swordfish (Mythical): Minnow, Summer, Windy or Clear weather.

Work through the list systematically and make sure each required catch registers as a perfect catch. If you are missing one entry, check your Quest Book to confirm your progress before spending more time fishing.

Part 3: Catch 20 Colossal Squid at Snowcap Island

The third challenge requires you to catch 20 Colossal Squid using Nate’s Blade. Travel to Snowcap Island and enter Snowcap Cave, where you can fish from the special pool associated with the Colossal Squid.

The Colossal Squid is a Mythical fish, and the listed conditions are Night and Foggy weather. Any bait can be used according to the provided requirements.

To complete this part, follow these steps:

  1. Equip Nate’s Blade.
  2. Travel to Snowcap Island.
  3. Enter Snowcap Cave.
  4. Find the exclusive fishing pool.
  5. Wait for Night and Foggy weather to improve your chances of meeting the listed conditions.
  6. Continue fishing until you have caught 20 Colossal Squid.

This challenge can take time because you need to catch the same fish repeatedly. Check your quest progress occasionally to ensure the catches are counting toward the required total.

Part 4: Complete the Original Fisch Collection Checklist

The fourth part is the longest stage of the Unrestricted Nate’s Blade quest. Rather than focusing on a single fishing location, it requires you to complete several collection and progression objectives across the original Fisch content.

You can track the required items and your completion progress through the Quest Book. The objectives include:

  • Catch every original fish using Nate’s Blade: 0/126.
  • Catch five fish with every original fishing rod: 0/15.
  • Obtain every free and obtainable original title: 0/45.
  • Obtain every original boat: 0/10.
  • Obtain every original lantern: 0/11.
  • Unlock every original badge: 0/30.
  • Enchant 21 times: 0/21.
  • Experience every original weather condition and modifier: 0/8.

These objectives cover a wide range of activities, so it is best to tackle them gradually instead of trying to complete everything at once. Use the Quest Book to identify which collections are unfinished and prioritize objectives that can be completed together.

For example, you can work on fish collection while progressing through rod-related requirements. Once every objective is finished, return to Miso in Nate’s Cave to continue the search for Nate and the scientist responsible for his disappearance.

How to Find Nate’s Crown, Glasses, and Lantern in Fisch

After progressing through the Nate’s Blade challenges, you will need to locate three personal items belonging to Nate: his Crown, Glasses, and Lantern. These items are scattered around underwater locations, so make sure you have the appropriate diving equipment before exploring.

Miso provides hints about the items during the quest. The coordinates below can help you reach each location more directly.

How to Find Nate’s Crown

Nate’s Crown is located on top of a red buoy near the area where players can purchase advanced diving equipment. Travel to the following coordinates:

  • GPS: (-791, 130, -3094)

Once you reach the location, look for the red buoy and check its top to collect the Crown. Remember this area because you will need to explore the surrounding underwater region to find the other two items.

How to Find Nate’s Glasses

Nate’s Glasses are underwater near a skeleton positioned beside a Stop signboard on the route toward Desolate Deep. You will need diving equipment to reach the location safely.

Follow these steps:

  1. Travel to the red buoy where you found Nate’s Crown.
  2. Equip your diving gear.
  3. Dive underwater near the buoy.
  4. Look for the Stop signboard and the skeleton nearby.
  5. Collect Nate’s Glasses at GPS (-852, -331, -3030).

If you cannot see the item immediately, check around the skeleton and the base of the signboard. The glasses are easy to miss if you move through the underwater area too quickly.

How to Find Nate’s Lantern

The final item is Nate’s Lantern, which can be found near the Maverick Merchant Shop. This secret underwater location is reached by turning left instead of right when traveling toward Desolate Deep.

Head to the following coordinates:

  • GPS: (-951, -244, -2713)

Once you reach the area, look near the Crab Cage beside the Maverick Merchant Shop to locate the Lantern. Collect it before moving on to the final stage of the rescue quest.

How to Find Dr. It Fish’s Lair in Fisch

After collecting Nate’s Crown, Glasses, and Lantern, you can move toward the location where Dr. It Fish is hiding. His Lair is near the area where you found Nate’s Lantern, making it convenient to continue without traveling back to another island.

Look for a large crack in the underwater wall beside the Lantern’s location. Equip Nate’s Blade and use it to break through the obstruction, allowing you to enter the hidden Lair.

Inside, you will encounter Dr. It Fish and trigger a cutscene related to Nate’s disappearance. Follow the sequence and continue through the area until you reach the first floor, where Nate is sitting in a corner.

Speak with Nate to complete the rescue and finish the main objective of the quest. Make sure you have collected all three personal items and progressed through the required objectives before attempting this final stage.

How to Unlock the Miso Companion in Fisch

Rescuing Nate also gives you the opportunity to unlock Miso as a Companion. To do this, return to Nate’s Cave on Sunstone Island after finishing the quest.

Inside the cave, search for a yellow cheese cube. Its location is randomized for each player, so there is no single guaranteed spot where you will find it. Common places to check include the bookshelf, the car, and the computer desk.

Once you find the cheese cube, take it to Miso, who can be found behind the computer. Feed the cheese to the cat to unlock Miso as your Companion.

Miso Companion Passive Abilities

Miso provides three passive effects that can help improve fishing performance. Its abilities have different activation chances and cooldowns, so the bonuses will not necessarily trigger every time you fish.

Here are Miso’s listed passive perks:

  • Scratch: Every three seconds, Miso has a 40% chance to activate Scratch and grant 3% Progress Speed.
  • Chomp: Every 10 seconds, Miso has a 4% chance to activate Chomp and grant 35% Progress Speed.
  • Luck Bonus: Increases Luck by 20% for you and surrounding players.

The Progress Speed effects can be useful when trying to reel in fish, while the Luck bonus benefits both you and nearby players. Because Miso offers multiple types of bonuses, it is a useful Companion to unlock after completing the Rescue Nate quest.

The Rescue Nate quest in Fisch is a long adventure that combines exploration, fishing challenges, collection objectives, and a final rescue mission. Start by solving the PIN puzzle in Nate’s Cave, collect the Broken Blade and Crimson Centerpiece, and work through the requirements needed to unlock Unrestricted Nate’s Blade.

Once the sword challenges are complete, find Nate’s Crown, Glasses, and Lantern to access Dr. It Fish’s Lair. After rescuing Nate, return to the cave and feed the hidden cheese cube to Miso to unlock the Companion and its useful passive bonuses. Keep your Quest Book open throughout the process, as it is the easiest way to track the many objectives required to finish this quest.
