Choosing the right units in Anime Horizon is important if you want to clear stages and defend your base more easily. While Mythical and Secret units may look impressive because of their rarity, they are not always the best choices for every team. Some units deal strong damage, while others provide useful buffs or help your team handle different enemy types.

This Anime Horizon tier list ranks the available units based on their damage, abilities, utility, and team synergy. Use it to decide which characters are worth upgrading and which ones you should prioritize when building your team.

Anime Horizon Unit Tier List

The units are divided into four tiers, ranging from the strongest options to characters that currently offer less value. Keep in mind that these rankings are based on an early evaluation because the game has only recently launched. Some units still need more testing, so their positions may change as more information becomes available.

S Tier – Meta Units

S Tier contains the strongest units currently identified in Anime Horizon. These characters offer powerful damage, useful support abilities, or both. They can make a major difference in your team, although some of them work best when paired with units that match their damage type.

  • The Strongest Creature – Secret, Demonic
  • Flame Hashira – Secret, Fire
  • Pop Star – Legendary, Angelic
  • Squad Leader – Legendary, Neutral

A Tier – Very Good Units

A Tier units are strong choices that can perform well in different stages. Some have excellent damage potential, while others provide useful abilities such as hybrid targeting, crowd control, and temporary stat boosts. They may not be as dominant as S Tier units, but they are still worth investing in.

  • SSJ3 Karakot – Mythical, Light
  • Whitemustache (Bisento) – Mythical, Water
  • Zora (Triple) – Mythical, Element TBC
  • Ichago (Final) – Mythical, Element TBC
  • Emperor Shanks – Mythical, Element TBC
  • Demon Tanjaro – Mythical, Element TBC
  • Byakya (Leg) – Mythical, Element TBC

B Tier – Decent Units

B Tier characters can still contribute to your team, but they have certain limitations that make them less reliable than higher-ranked units. Some depend on specific conditions to activate their strongest abilities, while others need more testing before their full potential can be determined.

  • David – Exclusive, Light
  • Zenku – Exclusive, Element TBC
  • Noroto – Exclusive, Element TBC
  • Bulma – Legendary, Element TBC
  • Koy Mostang – Legendary, Fire

C Tier – Mid Units

C Tier currently contains units that have not shown enough potential to compete with the higher-ranked options. However, this does not necessarily mean they are useless. More testing may reveal abilities or team combinations that improve their performance.

  • Bokai – Legendary, Element TBC

Best Anime Horizon Units Explained

The tier list gives you a quick look at each character’s ranking, but understanding their abilities can help you build a better team. Some units are designed to deal damage over time, while others focus on supporting specific damage types. Here is a closer look at the available units and what makes them useful.

S Tier Units

The Strongest Creature

  • Rarity: Secret
  • Element: Demonic
  • Targeting: Ground
  • Evaluation: Testing in progress.

The Strongest Creature currently sits in S Tier because of its Secret rarity and early ranking. However, its abilities and actual performance have not been fully tested yet. More information is needed to determine its damage potential, attack range, and usefulness in different stages.

Flame Hashira

  • Rarity: Secret
  • Element: Fire
  • Targeting: Ground and Circle

Flame Hashira is a powerful damage dealer who uses Burning effects to increase his damage. His attacks can build Rengoku Stacks, with the Burning effect reaching 50% at five stacks. This makes him more effective when placed in a lane with plenty of enemies to attack.

He also provides support through his Burning effects. When enemies affected by his attacks are eliminated within his range, nearby units can receive Burning damage over time. His Ninth Form ability is another useful tool, hitting every enemy within range with a large burst attack on a 60-second cooldown. However, it consumes his accumulated stacks, so choosing the right time to activate it is important.

Pop Star

  • Rarity: Legendary
  • Element: Angelic
  • Role: Support and Magical

Pop Star is one of the best support units for teams that rely on Magical attackers. Her aura can increase the damage of nearby Magical units by up to 25% while providing up to 40% weakness resistance. This makes her a valuable addition when you have several strong Magical damage dealers.

Her support abilities improve further at Upgrade 5. During her dance, which lasts 15 seconds and activates every 30 seconds, nearby Magical units receive an additional 20% damage and a 10% reduction in SPA. She can also increase the Yen earned by nearby farms by 5% at Upgrade 5. However, her main buffs do not benefit Physical attackers, so team composition matters when using her.

Squad Leader

  • Rarity: Legendary
  • Element: Neutral
  • Role: Support and Physical

Squad Leader is designed to strengthen Physical units. His aura increases their damage by up to 25% and weakness resistance by up to 40%. If your team uses Physical damage dealers as its main source of damage, he can provide a major boost without needing to become your primary attacker.

At Upgrade 5, Squad Leader gains an additional ability that summons three horses from the end of the track when its attack trigger activates. Their HP scales based on the highest damage among the buffed Physical units within his range. The ability has a 15-second cooldown, so keeping a strong Physical attacker inside his aura is important. Magical units do not receive his main buffs, making him more suitable for Physical-focused teams.

A Tier Units

SSJ3 Karakot

  • Rarity: Mythical
  • Element: Light
  • Targeting: Ground and Line

SSJ3 Karakot has strong offensive abilities that become more powerful when his Saiyan Meter is full. Activating this meter gives him increased damage, attack speed, range, and critical stats for 15 seconds. This temporary boost is the main reason he performs well as a damage dealer.

He also applies Burning damage with every attack and has a passive called Royal Blood that rewards attacking enemies with more than 70% HP in range. His Saiyan Meter builds as he attacks, while a missed attack can trigger an additional Galick Gun follow-up. Although he has several useful abilities, his strongest buffs are temporary and he can only target Ground enemies.

Whitemustache (Bisento)

  • Rarity: Mythical
  • Element: Water
  • Targeting: Hybrid and Line

Whitemustache (Bisento) is a flexible attacker because his Hybrid targeting allows him to hit both Ground and Air enemies. This makes him a practical choice when your team needs coverage against different enemy types without using too many unit slots.

His damage also increases as a match progresses. He gains 1% additional damage per wave, up to a maximum bonus of 20%, without needing to eliminate enemies to activate the effect. He also gains a crowd-control ability after every 30 eliminations, allowing his next attack to stun an enemy. The stun is useful, although it requires time to activate.

Zora (Triple)

  • Rarity: Mythical
  • Element: TBC
  • Evaluation: Testing in progress.

Zora (Triple) is currently placed in A Tier based on the initial unit ranking. However, there is not enough confirmed information about his abilities, damage output, or targeting type to provide a detailed evaluation. His position may change once more gameplay testing becomes available.

Ichago (Final)

  • Rarity: Mythical
  • Element: TBC
  • Evaluation: Testing in progress.

Ichago (Final) is another Mythical unit currently ranked in A Tier. His full performance has not been confirmed, so it is difficult to determine how he compares with other damage dealers. More testing is needed to understand his abilities and whether he is worth prioritizing for your team.

Emperor Shanks

  • Rarity: Mythical
  • Element: TBC
  • Evaluation: Testing in progress.

Emperor Shanks has an A Tier placement in the current ranking, but detailed information about his abilities is still unavailable. His damage potential, attack range, and special effects need further testing before a more complete evaluation can be made.

Demon Tanjaro

  • Rarity: Mythical
  • Element: TBC
  • Evaluation: Testing in progress.

Demon Tanjaro is included among the stronger Mythical units in Anime Horizon. However, his exact strengths and weaknesses have not been confirmed yet. His current position should be treated as an early ranking rather than a final judgment of his performance.

Byakya (Leg)

  • Rarity: Mythical
  • Element: TBC
  • Evaluation: Testing in progress.

Byakya (Leg) rounds out the A Tier Mythical units. There is currently limited information about his combat abilities, so his damage and overall utility still need to be tested. For now, he remains a promising unit based on the initial ranking.

B Tier Units

David

  • Rarity: Exclusive
  • Element: Light
  • Targeting: Ground and Magical

David is a Magical attacker who can increase his own combat stats through a mechanic called Cyberware. When his Cyberware reaches 50%, Fury activates and provides 10% more damage, 10% additional critical chance, and 20% critical damage. Both attacking enemies and getting eliminations help fill the meter.

At Upgrade 3, David gains an explosion ability that activates when his Cyberware reaches 100%. The blast deals damage equal to 150% of his damage stat to enemies around him. However, his Cyberware resets after reaching 100%, meaning he needs to build the meter again before receiving the next Fury boost. His Ground targeting and temporary buffs keep him in B Tier for now.

Zenku

  • Rarity: Exclusive
  • Element: TBC
  • Evaluation: Testing in progress.

Zenku is an Exclusive unit currently placed in B Tier. However, his abilities and combat performance have not been properly tested yet. More information is needed to determine whether he is better suited for damage dealing, support, or another role.

Noroto

  • Rarity: Exclusive
  • Element: TBC
  • Evaluation: Testing in progress.

Noroto also receives a B Tier ranking in the current list. There is not enough confirmed information about his abilities or overall performance to provide a detailed breakdown. His ranking may change once his strengths and weaknesses become clearer.

Bulma

  • Rarity: Legendary
  • Element: TBC
  • Evaluation: Testing in progress.

Bulma is a Legendary unit that currently sits in B Tier. Her exact role and abilities have not been fully evaluated, so it is too early to determine how useful she can be in different team combinations. Additional testing is required before recommending her over other Legendary units.

Koy Mostang

  • Rarity: Legendary
  • Element: Fire
  • Targeting: Ground, Magical, and Circle

Koy Mostang is a Fire unit that can apply Burning damage with every attack. This gives him a consistent damage-over-time effect without requiring eliminations to activate it. His main strength comes from dealing additional burst damage after reaching a certain number of kills.

After eliminating 100 enemies, his next three to five attacks receive a massive 230% bonus damage. This can be useful against groups of enemies, but reaching the required elimination count may take time. Since the bonus also depends on getting the final hits, Koy Mostang can be less reliable when other units are taking most of the kills.

C Tier Units

Bokai

  • Rarity: Legendary
  • Element: TBC
  • Evaluation: Testing in progress.

Bokai is currently the only unit placed in C Tier. His abilities and performance have not been tested enough to provide a complete explanation of his strengths. For now, there is not enough evidence to recommend investing heavily in him over the units ranked higher.

How to Choose the Best Units in Anime Horizon

When building a team, you should not focus only on rarity or damage numbers. A balanced lineup can perform better than a team filled with attackers that do not work well together. Pay attention to each unit’s targeting type, element, abilities, and support effects before spending resources on upgrades.

Here are a few things to consider:

  • Choose the right damage type: Pop Star supports Magical units, while Squad Leader improves Physical attackers. Match your support units with the damage dealers in your team.
  • Check enemy targeting: Hybrid units such as Whitemustache (Bisento) can attack both Ground and Air enemies, making them useful when dealing with different enemy types.
  • Use damage-over-time effects: Flame Hashira and Koy Mostang can apply Burning, which helps them deal additional damage over time.
  • Consider ability conditions: Some units need stacks, eliminations, or a full meter before activating their strongest abilities. Make sure you understand these requirements.
  • Do not ignore support units: A strong support character can improve the performance of multiple attackers, making the entire team more effective.

The current Anime Horizon tier list includes several strong units, with Flame Hashira, Pop Star, and Squad Leader standing out because of their damage or team support abilities. Meanwhile, units such as SSJ3 Karakot and Whitemustache (Bisento) offer useful offensive tools that make them good alternatives for different team setups.

Since Anime Horizon is still new, some rankings are based on limited testing. Units with incomplete evaluations may move up or down as more information about their abilities and evolutions becomes available. Check back for future tier list updates as the game’s unit balance and available strategies become clearer.
