The Oppressor Rod is one of the latest fishing rods introduced in Fisch through the Venue Encore update. Unlike regular rods that can be purchased from shops, this powerful weapon requires players to complete several challenging quests given by the Tormentor NPC.
You will also need to finish an additional quest and pay a large amount of in-game currency to unlock its full potential. This guide covers how to find the Tormentor, complete every quest in the Oppressor Rod questline, and remove the rod’s restriction.
How to Find Tormentor in Fisch
Your first objective is to locate the Tormentor NPC inside a secret auditorium connected to the Underground Music Venue. However, reaching this hidden area requires a specific rod and title. Make sure you prepare everything before attempting to teleport, as missing one of the requirements will prevent you from entering the auditorium.
Follow these steps to find Tormentor:
- Travel to the Underground Music Venue.
- Find the Duskwire Rod displayed to the left of the Ken Carson NPC.
- Equip your Duskwire Rod and activate a Tropical Squall Totem.
- Make sure you have the Dusk title equipped.
- Interact with the Duskwire Rod near Ken Carson to teleport to the hidden auditorium.
- Once inside, locate and speak with the Tormentor NPC.
The Dusk title is unlocked by completing the Duskwire Rod mastery quest. You need to achieve 200 perfect catches to finish this requirement. Make sure you have the title equipped before interacting with the teleport object.
How to Unlock the Oppressor Rod in Fisch
After finding Tormentor and starting his questline, you will receive several tasks that involve catching rare fish and collecting special items. There are three main quest stages to complete before Tormentor rewards you with the restricted Oppressor Rod.
1. Chaotic Resurgence
The first quest, called Chaotic Resurgence, requires you to collect four different items. Some of these are difficult to obtain because they involve specific fish mutations and rare enchant relics. Preparing the recommended rods and companions beforehand can save you time during this stage.
Here are all the required items and suggested ways to obtain them:
- 2 Shiny Chaotic Catfish: Use the Duskwire Rod with the Blessed or Invincible enchantment. Worm bait and fishing during a foggy night can help improve your chances.
- 1 Mourned Wyvern: Equip the Tidemourner Rod with the Long enchantment. Truffle Worm bait is also recommended.
- 3 Darkened Enchant Relics: Use the Depthseeker Rod together with the Relic Construct companion.
- 1 Chaotic Enchant Relic: Equip the Duskwire Rod and use the Relic Construct companion.
Once you have collected everything, return to the Tormentor NPC and hand over the required items. Completing Chaotic Resurgence will unlock the next part of his questline.
2. Road of Revenant Carcasses
For the second stage, Tormentor will give you three riddles instead of directly listing the fish you need to catch. Each clue describes a specific fish, so you must identify the correct target before heading out to fish. Having the recommended rods and enchantments ready will make this quest easier to complete.
Here are the three riddles and their corresponding requirements:
- “Seek for the monstrous victor of countless wars”: Catch one Monstrous Legionnaire Lamprey using the Cusk Purger Rod.
- “Bring a sturdy metal beast of worships”: Catch one Titanium Leviathan using the Titanium Rod with the Fractured or Tryhard enchantment.
- “Conquer the distressed and effervescent reborn eel”: Catch one Sparkling Distraught Revenant Eel using the Dreambreaker Rod with the Blessed or Glittered enchantment.
After catching all three fish, return to Tormentor to complete the quest. You will need to travel back to this NPC multiple times throughout the remaining stages, so marking the hidden auditorium’s location with your Mystic Mirror is a useful way to save time.
3. Divergent Perceptions
The final main quest is called Divergent Perceptions. Tormentor will ask you to catch three more fish, each requiring a different rod and fishing setup. Some targets also have specific bait or location requirements, so make sure you prepare before starting each catch.
Complete the following objectives:
- 1 Distraught Veiled Charybdis: Use the Dreambreaker Rod with the Fractured or Cryogenic enchantment. Luminous Larva is a recommended bait.
- 1 Squalled String: Use the Abaias Spite Rod with Garbage Bait. You need to fish in Desolate Deep.
- 1 Fallen Scylla: Equip the Fallen Rod and use Shark Head bait.
After catching all three fish, return to Tormentor and submit the quest requirements. He will reward you with the Oppressor Rod, although it will initially come with a restriction.
Fisch Oppressor Rod Stats
The Oppressor Rod has extremely high base stats, making it a powerful option for catching difficult fish. Its 300% Lure Speed and 310% Luck provide excellent fishing performance, while the additional Progress Speed bonus helps you complete catches faster. The rod also has infinite maximum weight, meaning it does not have a standard weight limit.
Here are the complete Oppressor Rod stats:
- Lure Speed: 300%
- Luck: 310%
- Control: 0.1
- Resilience: 35%
- Max KG: Infinite
- Progress Speed: +55%
- Disturbance: +5
Although the rod already has impressive stats when obtained, its restricted condition means you still need to finish another quest before you can use it without limitations.
How to Unrestrict the Oppressor Rod in Fisch
After completing the Tormentor questline, you will receive a restricted version of the Oppressor Rod. To remove this restriction, you must complete the Impermanent Distress quest. This final challenge involves catching specific fish, collecting Oppressed fish in Crystal Cove, and successfully parrying projectiles.
Here are all the requirements for Impermanent Distress:
- Catch one Fallen Skolopendra.
- Catch one Olympian Devil using the Duskwire Rod without a Companion.
- Catch 35 Legendary or Mythical Oppressed fish in Crystal Cove.
- Successfully parry 75 projectiles.
Once every objective is completed, return to Tormentor in the hidden auditorium. You must then pay 70,000,000 C$ to remove the restriction from your Oppressor Rod.
Make sure you have enough currency before returning, as completing the quest objectives alone will not fully unlock the rod.
Is the Oppressor Rod Worth Getting in Fisch?
The Oppressor Rod is a strong reward for players who are willing to complete a lengthy questline. Its 300% Lure Speed, 310% Luck, +55% Progress Speed, and infinite weight capacity make it an attractive option for handling a wide range of fishing challenges. However, obtaining it requires several rare catches, specific rod setups, and a final payment of 70 million C$.
If you plan to unlock it, prepare the required rods, enchantments, baits, and companions before starting Tormentor’s quests. Completing the objectives in an organized order can reduce unnecessary trips and make the entire process easier.
