How to Get Denji (Chainsaw Man) in Legacy Piece Guide

Denji, also known as Chainsaw Man, is one of the newest limited styles added to Legacy Piece through the Part 2 update. This style comes with several powerful skills, unique animations, and a passive ability that focuses on dealing damage over time through Bleed stacks. However, unlocking it requires completing multiple quests and spending a large amount of in-game money.

Players must travel to Halloween Island, defeat several enemies, complete a special dungeon, and collect Chainsaw Heart Shards to unlock all of Denji’s abilities. Here is a complete guide covering how to obtain Denji and what you need to do to unlock every skill.

How to Unlock Denji in Legacy Piece

The first step is to visit Halloween Island and find the Pochida NPC. You need to interact with this NPC and form a contract to begin the Chainsaw Man questline. After accepting the contract, several tasks will become available, and you must complete them in order to unlock Denji.

The questline has multiple stages, including defeating enemies, paying an NPC, and clearing a special dungeon. Make sure you have enough money and are prepared for repeated boss fights before starting.

Quest 1: Defeat 120 Cursed Trees

For the first quest, you need to defeat 120 Cursed Trees around Halloween Island. These enemies can be identified by the purple smoke surrounding them, so look for trees with this visual effect while exploring the island.

You can defeat any Cursed Trees that appear in the area to make progress. Keep farming them until the counter reaches 120, then return to the questline and continue to the next objective.

Quest 2: Defeat 24 Tomato Devils

The second task requires you to defeat Tomato Devil 24 times. This boss can also be found on Halloween Island, making it convenient to continue the quest without traveling to another location.

Tomato Devil is not particularly difficult to defeat, so this part should mainly require patience and repeated farming. Keep defeating the boss until you have reached the required total.

Quest 3: Pay the Yakaza Collector 380 Million Money

After completing the enemy quests, you need to find the Yakaza Collector NPC near the Pochida NPC area. Talk to him and pay 380 million money to unlock the next part of the Chainsaw Man questline.

This is a fairly expensive requirement, so make sure you have enough money before interacting with the NPC. Once the payment is completed, you will gain access to the special Chainsaw Man dungeon.

How to Complete the Chainsaw Man Dungeon

The next step is to enter the newly unlocked dungeon and clear its enemy waves. Unlike some other activities, this dungeon requires you to move through the map manually and reach the gates to continue to the next section.

You cannot simply stay in one location and expect the entire dungeon to progress automatically. Defeat the enemies in each wave, move toward the next gate, and continue until you reach the final boss.

The last wave features the dungeon boss. Your main objective is to reduce its HP to 50%. Once you reach that point, a special cutscene will play, marking the completion of this part of the questline.

After the cutscene finishes, you will finally obtain Denji (Chainsaw Man). However, unlocking the style is only the beginning because you still need to complete additional quests to access all of its skills.

How to Unlock All Denji Skills

Denji has three additional skill-unlocking quests after you obtain the style. Each task requires Chainsaw Heart Shards, in-game money, and a certain number of Zombie Devil defeats.

You also need to equip Chainsaw Man while completing these objectives. Simply defeating the required enemies without having the style equipped may not count toward your progress.

The requirements for each quest are:

First Skill Unlock Quest

  • Collect 4 Chainsaw Heart Shards.
  • Prepare 20 million money.
  • Defeat Zombie Devil 2 times.

Second Skill Unlock Quest

  • Collect 6 Chainsaw Heart Shards in total.
  • Defeat Zombie Devil 3 more times.
  • Prepare 30 million money.

Final Skill Unlock Quest

  • Collect 10 Chainsaw Heart Shards in total.
  • Defeat Zombie Devil 5 more times.
  • Prepare 50 million money.

These quests follow the same general farming process, so expect to spend some time repeating the dungeon and collecting the required materials. Each completed quest unlocks a different Chainsaw Man skill.

Denji Passive Ability Explained

One of the most important parts of Denji is his passive ability, which focuses on Bleed and Blood Consumption. Basic attacks and skill hits apply Bleed stacks to enemies, with a maximum of five stacks on each target.

Bleed deals damage over time every second, and its damage becomes stronger as more stacks are applied. Each successful hit also refreshes the four-second duration of the active stacks, allowing you to maintain the effect by continuously attacking your target.

The second part of the passive is Blood Consumption. When you land a finisher, Denji consumes all of your active Bleed stacks on the enemies hit by that attack. Instead of allowing the remaining damage-over-time effect to continue, the consumed stacks are converted into immediate bonus damage.

There is also a healing effect attached to this mechanic. Every consumed Bleed stack restores 2% of your maximum HP, meaning you can recover up to 10% of your maximum HP per target when consuming five stacks.

Keep in mind that this effect only works with Bleed stacks applied by your own attacks. Stacks created by other players will not activate Denji’s bonus damage or healing.

Is Denji Worth Getting in Legacy Piece?

Denji has several skills with impressive visual effects, and his combat style feels focused on maintaining pressure through repeated attacks. The Bleed passive also gives him a different playstyle compared to characters that rely mainly on direct burst damage.

However, his overall performance can depend heavily on your build. A setup that does not focus on damage-over-time effects may not bring out his full potential, even if you have already unlocked every skill.

If you plan to use Denji seriously, it is worth testing different enchantments, accessories, and buffs to find a setup that improves his Bleed damage. His passive rewards players who can consistently land attacks and maintain stacks before using a finisher.

Getting Denji in Legacy Piece requires quite a bit of grinding, especially with the 120 Cursed Trees, 24 Tomato Devil defeats, and 380 million money payment. You also need to clear the Chainsaw Man dungeon and complete three more farming quests before unlocking all of his skills.

Despite the requirements, Denji offers an interesting combat style with Bleed damage, burst damage, and HP recovery through Blood Consumption. If you are looking for a new limited style to collect in the Part 2 update, Chainsaw Man is worth working toward, especially if you enjoy damage-over-time builds.
