Anime Adventures: How to Get Megumin and Enel – Secret Portals Guide

Megumin and Enel are two new Secret units in Anime Adventures Update 21. Both units come from special portals, but you need to complete different game modes to get them. Megumin’s Portal comes from Summer Hunt, while Enel’s Portal comes from Sky Portals.

You cannot get either unit directly from the event rewards. First, you need to obtain their portals and then clear them for a chance to get the units. This guide explains how to get both portals, increase your drop chances, and understand their abilities.

How to Get Megumin and Enel

Megumin is called Explosion Mage in the game, while Enel is called Sky God. Both are Secret units that require you to complete a special portal. Here is how to get them:

  • Megumin (Explosion Mage): Complete all 50 waves of Summer Hunt for a chance to get Explosion Mage’s Portal. Clear the portal to get a chance at Megumin.
  • Enel (Sky God): Clear Sky Portals for a chance to get Sky God’s Portal. Enter the portal and defeat Sky God for a chance at Enel.

Both units require two steps. You need to get the portal first before you can fight for the unit.

These portals are part of the limited-time Summer event. The game has not confirmed the event’s end date, so it is better to farm them while the event is still available.

Do not confuse these units with Phoenix. Phoenix is another Summer Secret, but you can get it from Sunny Stars using Summer Pearls. Its listed drop rate is 1 in 40,000.

The exact drop rates for Megumin and Enel have not been confirmed yet.

How to Farm Summer Hunt for Megumin

Summer Hunt is the main mode you need to play if you want Megumin. You can enter it from the ship in the lobby. The event has 50 waves, and you need to defeat all enemies to finish a run.

Every few waves, you can choose a card. Some cards make the stage easier, while others add challenges but give better rewards. Harder cards can also increase the tier of the portal you receive.

One player who picked hard cards received a Tier 4 and Tier 6 Sky Portal. This means you should choose challenge cards when your team is strong enough to handle them.

Some cards also increase your Secret drop chance. One example gives a 25% bonus, so take it whenever it appears.

You can play Summer Hunt alone or use global matchmaking to find other players. You do not need a full team because solo runs are also possible.

Watch the Weather in Summer Hunt

Weather can make Summer Hunt harder. Windy weather brings Soaring enemies, which can only be attacked by hill units or certain attacks.

Stormy weather is also dangerous because it reduces your unit range and can stun your most expensive unit with lightning. This can interrupt your main damage dealer.

The map and weather change every hour. Check the weather forecast before starting a long run so you can prepare your team.

After getting a portal, open your inventory and go to the Portals tab. You can start the portal from the lobby.

How to Get Enel From Sky Portals

Enel comes from Sky God’s Portal, which you can obtain by clearing Sky Portals. Each Sky Portal has 20 waves and takes place on Sky Island.

However, these stages have Soaring enemies. If you do not bring the right units, some enemies may pass through your defenses without taking damage.

You should bring at least one hill unit to deal with them. Some good choices include:

  • Water Goddess: Can attack Soaring enemies when placed on a hill.
  • Iron Sentinel: Uses drones to attack enemies.
  • Dark Mage: A Hybrid unit that can be placed on a hill.
  • Honey: Can attack Soaring enemies when placed on a hill.

Be careful when using Captain God. Some players have shown that his plants can hit Soaring enemies, but others have reported that enemies can fly over them. Test him before using him as your main counter.

You do not need a max-level team to clear lower-tier portals. One team cleared a Tier 4 portal in around 8 minutes and 37 seconds using Alicia, Chuny, Honey, Bulby, CEO, and Shinobi. Their units were around levels 80 to 90.

Should You Host or Join a Sky Portal?

You can open your own portal in the lobby and let other players join. Playing with others makes difficult portals easier, but there is a difference between hosting and joining. The host has a better chance of receiving the portal rewards. Players who join someone else’s portal only have a 25% chance of getting each host reward.

Higher-tier portals also give better rewards. For example, a Tier 10 portal can provide more five-star remnants than a Tier 4 portal. However, Tier 10 is much harder because it has two lanes and stronger enemies. Start with a tier your team can clear instead of rushing into the hardest one.

How to Increase Your Secret Portal Drop Chance

Charms are one of the best ways to increase your Secret drop chance. They work in both Summer Hunt and Sky Portals, making them useful when farming for Megumin and Enel.

You can get charms by completing Summer Hunt. After defeating the boss at Wave 50, you have a chance to receive one. Once you get a charm, equip it from the Charms tab in your inventory.

There are four charm tiers, and each charm can have different bonuses. Replace your old charm whenever you get one with better stats.

Charms can provide these bonuses:

  • Increase your Secret drop chance.
  • Increase your damage.
  • Give more event rewards.
  • Improve rewards after winning Summer Hunt.

You should also choose Summer Hunt cards that increase Secret drops. These bonuses can help you get better charms for future portal runs.

Summer units and skins can also increase your Secret Portal drop chance. Some players have shown a 5% bonus, while accounts with several bonuses have reached 55%.

Before entering a portal, equip your best charm and any Summer units or skins that provide drop bonuses. Then, choose the highest portal tier your team can clear.

Megumin Skills and Abilities

Megumin is known as Explosion Mage in Anime Adventures. You can get her from Explosion Mage’s Portal after completing Summer Hunt.

You can also evolve her into Arch Demon. Her evolution gives her 20% more attack and increases her signature skill, Explosion 100%, by 100%.

To evolve Megumin, you need takedowns and a special evolution item. The location of this item has not been confirmed yet.

Her main ability is Explosion 100%. It creates a large explosion that covers her attack range. You can also choose where the explosion lands, which is useful when fighting bosses.

You can use this targeting ability once every minute, so save it for important enemies.

Megumin also has a passive that changes how cooldown bonuses work. Instead of making her attack faster, cooldown bonuses from traits, relics, and curses increase her attack and range.

Her damage becomes much stronger at later upgrades, but her attacks also become slower. This makes her a slow attacker with very high damage.

She can attack normal flying enemies after her sixth upgrade, but she cannot hit Soaring enemies. You will still need a hill unit to deal with them.

Overall, Megumin is a strong damage dealer, but she should not be your only unit. Her expensive upgrades and slow attacks mean you need other units to support her.

Enel Skills and Abilities

Enel is called Sky God in Anime Adventures. You can get him from Sky God’s Portal. His abilities focus on lightning attacks and damage that builds up during longer waves.

His first passive is Storm Arc. It charges when his storm attacks hit enemies. After reaching five charges, it releases a lightning bolt that deals 140% of his damage. This ability has a 60-second cooldown.

His second passive is Doomsday Storm. It stores 40% of his storm attack damage inside a cloud. The cloud then attacks enemies in its range every second, dealing 10% of its stored power.

This means Enel can deal more damage as a wave continues. Both passives also become stronger when you increase his attack damage.

Enel deals magic damage, so he works well with Chuny. Her ability makes enemies take 50% more magic damage per stack, which can increase Enel’s damage.

Weather also affects him. Magical weather increases his magic damage, while Sandstorm makes enemies more resistant to magic attacks.

Enel can attack normal flying enemies from his third upgrade. However, he cannot hit Soaring enemies because he does not have the Soaring tag.

He also unlocks Heaven Bolt at his third upgrade and Skyfall at his seventh upgrade. Their full effects have not been confirmed yet, so more testing is needed.

Some players already consider Enel one of the strongest units in the game. However, there is not enough information to compare him properly with units like Snow Reaper and Megumin.

Should You Get Megumin or Enel First?

Megumin and Enel have different attack styles. Megumin focuses on large explosions, while Enel uses lightning attacks that become stronger during longer waves.

Here are their main differences:

  • Megumin: Deals high damage with a large explosion that you can aim at enemies.
  • Enel: Deals magic damage and becomes stronger as his storm attacks build up.
  • Soaring enemies: Neither unit can attack Soaring enemies directly.
  • Support: Enel works well with magic damage buffs, while Megumin benefits from attack and range bonuses.

If you are unsure which one to get first, start with Megumin. You need to play Summer Hunt to get her portal, and you can also collect Sky Portals while farming the event.

This allows you to work toward both units without spending all your time on only one activity.

Megumin and Enel are two new Secret units that require different portal farming methods. To get Megumin, complete all 50 waves of Summer Hunt and hope for Explosion Mage’s Portal. To get Enel, clear Sky Portals until you obtain Sky God’s Portal.

You can improve your chances by choosing Secret drop cards, equipping better charms, and using Summer units or skins with drop bonuses. Make sure your team also has hill units because Soaring enemies can appear during these runs.

The exact drop rates, pity system, and Megumin’s evolution item location are still unknown. Enel’s Heaven Bolt and Skyfall abilities also need more testing. For now, focus on farming both portals while the Summer event is available.
