Thunder Spears are powerful weapons in Attack on Titan Revolution that can help you deal more damage when fighting Titans. However, obtaining this equipment is not as simple as purchasing it from a shop. You need to complete several quests across different locations before collecting all the required Thunder Spear components.

There are also a few requirements you must meet before starting this questline. You need to reach Prestige 1 and unlock Aberrant difficulty. Once both conditions are completed, you can access the Thunder Spears quests through the Quest Tab. This guide covers all five quests, their rewards, and the Gold costs required to upgrade your Thunder Spears.

Requirements to Unlock Thunder Spears in Attack on Titan Revolution

Before starting the Thunder Spears questline, make sure your character meets the required progression milestones. The game will not allow you to access these quests until you have unlocked the necessary features.

Here are the two main requirements:

  • Reach Prestige 1: You must progress far enough to unlock your first Prestige level.
  • Unlock Aberrant Difficulty: This difficulty mode is required because several Thunder Spears quests take place during Skirmish Missions on Aberrant difficulty.

After meeting both requirements, open the Quest Tab and look for the Thunder Spears questline. You can then begin completing the missions to collect the different equipment components.

All Thunder Spears Quests in Attack on Titan Revolution

There are five quests you need to complete to obtain all the required Thunder Spears components. Each mission has a different objective, ranging from building watchtowers to defending supply crates against Titan attacks.

Here is how to complete every quest.

1. Towers Quest

Objective: Create 3 watchtowers in the Outskirts.

The first mission requires you to build three watchtowers around the Outskirts map. To complete this objective, you need to enter an Outskirts Skirmish Mission while playing on Aberrant difficulty.

Once you are inside the mission, explore the map and search for three green circles. These markers indicate the locations where you can construct the watchtowers.

Simply move your character into each green circle and wait for the construction process to finish. Repeat this for all three locations to complete the quest.

Make sure you visit every marked area because the mission will not count as completed until all three watchtowers have been created.

2. Escort Quest

Objective: Escort the horse carriage in the Outskirts.

After completing the Towers quest, you can move on to the Escort mission. This time, your objective is to protect a horse carriage as it travels across the Outskirts map toward the wall on the opposite side.

You need to enter a Skirmish Mission and defend the carriage from incoming Titan waves. Keep attacking the Titans before they can destroy the carriage or stop its progress.

This mission can become difficult if too many Titans reach the objective. If the carriage fails to survive, you will need to restart the mission and try again.

Successfully completing the Escort quest rewards you with:

  • 1,000 Gems
  • Thunder Spear Handle

The Thunder Spear Handle is one of the important components required to obtain your new equipment.

3. Ice Burst Titans Quest

Objective: Defeat 3 Ice Burst Titans in Utgard.

For the third mission, you need to travel to Utgard and defeat three Ice Burst Titans. These enemies belong to the Abnormal Titan type and have special armor that makes them harder to defeat.

However, their armor has a weakness. You only need to hit each Ice Burst Titan twice to destroy its armor, making it easier to deal damage afterward.

Focus on finding and defeating three of these Titans to complete the objective. Once the mission is finished, you will receive the following rewards:

  • 1,000 Gems
  • Thunder Spear Thruster

Make sure you are prepared before entering Utgard, as dealing with multiple Abnormal Titans can make the mission challenging.

4. Retrieve Missing Supplies Quest

Objective: Collect 3 Supply Crates in the Forest.

The fourth quest takes you to the Forest, where you need to locate three missing Supply Crates. To complete this mission, enter a Forest Skirmish on Aberrant difficulty and search the map for the required supplies.

There are three different locations where you can find the Supply Crates:

  1. Back of the Forest: The first crate is located toward the back section of the map.
  2. Middle of the Forest: Search around the central area to find the second crate.
  3. Resupply Camp: The final crate can be found at the Resupply Camp on the right side of the map.

Collect all three Supply Crates to finish the Retrieve Missing Supplies quest. Remember their locations because you will need to defend these same crates during the next mission.

5. Defend Missing Supplies Quest

Objective: Defend the Supply Crates in the Forest.

The final quest requires you to protect the three Supply Crates that you collected during the previous mission. Unlike the retrieval objective, this time you need to survive multiple waves of incoming Titans.

Start a Forest Skirmish Mission and head toward the Supply Crates. Your job is to prevent the Titans from destroying the supplies while defending all three locations.

Keep moving around the area and eliminate enemies before they can reach the crates. You should pay attention to every supply location because focusing on only one crate could leave the others vulnerable.

Once you successfully defend all three Supply Crates against the Titan waves, the quest will be completed.

Your rewards include:

  • 1,000 Gems
  • Thunder Spear Base

With the Thunder Spear Handle, Thunder Spear Thruster, and Thunder Spear Base collected through the questline, you can progress toward obtaining your Thunder Spears.

How to Upgrade Thunder Spears in Attack on Titan Revolution

After obtaining Thunder Spears, you can improve their performance through the upgrade system. Upgrading this equipment increases its rank and allows you to improve several important combat statistics.

The available Thunder Spear stats include:

  • Blast Radius: Improves the area affected by the explosion.
  • Critical Chance: Increases the chance of landing a critical hit.
  • Critical DMG: Improves the damage dealt by critical attacks.
  • TS Control: Improves Thunder Spear control.
  • TS DMG: Increases the damage dealt by Thunder Spears.
  • TS Gas: Improves the gas-related stat for Thunder Spears.
  • TS Range: Increases the effective attack range.
  • TS Speed: Improves Thunder Spear speed.

Each upgrade requires Gold, and the cost increases as you reach higher ranks. The progression starts at E- and continues until S-.

Thunder Spears Upgrade Costs

If you are planning to upgrade your Thunder Spears, make sure you have enough Gold before moving to the next rank. Higher-level upgrades can become quite expensive, so collecting Gold beforehand will make the process easier.

Here is the complete upgrade cost list:

  • E- to E: 625 Gold
  • E to E+: 1,562 Gold
  • E+ to D-: 2,500 Gold
  • D- to D: 3,750 Gold
  • D to D+: 6,250 Gold
  • D+ to C-: 9,375 Gold
  • C- to C: 13,750 Gold
  • C to C+: 21,875 Gold
  • C+ to B-: 31,250 Gold
  • B- to B: 46,875 Gold
  • B to A-: 87,500 Gold
  • A- to A: 125,000 Gold
  • A to A+: 168,750 Gold
  • A+ to S-: 211,775 Gold

The higher your Thunder Spears rank becomes, the more Gold you will need for each upgrade. Therefore, it is worth preparing your resources before attempting to reach the highest available rank.

Getting Thunder Spears in Attack on Titan Revolution requires completing five different quests across the Outskirts, Utgard, and Forest maps. Before starting, make sure you have reached Prestige 1 and unlocked Aberrant difficulty.

Your main objectives include building watchtowers, escorting a carriage, defeating Ice Burst Titans, and collecting and defending Supply Crates. After completing the required missions, you can work on upgrading your Thunder Spears to improve their combat stats.
