TenguGo Kana: Learn Japanese’s Hiragana and Katakana Quickly!

Konnichiwa! Do you want to learn Japanese? So, you should learn to read Japanese letters with TenguGo Kana. The Japanese use kanji, hiragana, katakana, and romaji letters. Arabic number also used there.

TenguGo Kana is a learning application to help us to learn Japanese letters. You wouldn’t find Japanese kanji here. Instead, you will find hiragana and katakana. Those are the simple Japanese letters.

You could read a little introduction about Japanese writing system. Read it by tapping on ‘Kana’, tap on ‘basic hiragana’, then ‘Japanese Writing System’.

How do you learn it?

Under ‘Japanese Writing System’ you will find the lessons in hiragana. It is classify by how to pronounce it. The reading materials on TenguGo Kana gives you the hiragana letters, the romaji, and also how to pronounce it. The pronunciation use voices of a woman and a man.

Take the quiz to evaluate how far you get the lesson. Actually, you could just open the hiragana quiz to learn hiragana letters. TenguGo Kana has flashcards that you could use to learn the letters.

Open the hiragana quiz. Find the flashcards on the Review material. You will be given the example on how to pronounce it, the use of it in Japanese words, and how to write it. Tap on the ‘quiz’ to answer the questions.

Take the quizzes often

The more you take the quizzes, the more you memorize the letters. There are some types of question given, like choose which hiragana letter with the romaji or voice given, and how to pronounce a letter (in romaji) with the hiragana letter given.

There are also lessons about long vowel, hard consonant, diacritical mark. In addition there are lessons about how to combining kana, orthography, and exception. You could find all of that by tapping on ‘Kana’. The next step is tap on ‘Complete Hiragana’. You could take the quizzes as well.

Find the katakana part by tapping on ‘Kana’, then tap on Katakana. It has identical learning type with the hiragana part. You could learn katakana by reading the material or by opening the flashcards. In the uppermost side, you could find a little article about the origin of katakana.

Moreover, TenguGo Kana has the charts of the whole letters of hiragana and katakana. You could find those letters by tapping on ‘Charts’. It is located in the middle of the upper menus on your TenguGo Kana main page.

Option to reset your quiz statistic and disable the voice question.

How to reset quiz statistic and disable the voice question? In the main screen, you will find the menus on the uppermost side. Tap on the ‘about’ menu. Then tap ‘Settings’. It will direct you to the Setting page. Tap on ‘Reset’ to reset your statistic. Select ‘On’ to reduce the voice. It will disable the voice question. Tap on ‘Off’ to enable the voice.
