Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ (2017) Gets a New Firmware Updates in 2022!
The 2017 Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ recently receive the most recent firmware upgrade. The changelog for firmware G95*FXXUCDVG4 states that the modifications included are GPS stability enhancements for the device.
However, this seems improbable given that the update is 420MB in size and contains multiple fixes. And this update is indeed a simple update, as this 5-year-old phone is still running Android 9 with a security patch from April 2021, without any enhancements or design changes. This GPS fix appears to be identical to the one made for the Galaxy J7 and subsequently used in Asia, without any upgrades at all.
GalaxyClubs also stated that several older phones, like the Galaxy S7 from 2016 and the S6 from 2015, will receive the upgrade. Samsung recently stated that its flagship device will receive additional support, including four operating system updates and more than five years of security fixes. This may be an example of how Samsung is keeping its promise.
