Pokemon Company Sued Illegal NFT Pokemon Games

NFTs are often labeled as bad by people because they are seen as scams or cheats, and it seems this is what made the Pokemon Company finally report PokeWorld. If you didn’t know PokeWorld is one of the Pokemon NFT games which were eventually closed because it didn’t have a license.

The Pokemon Company sued the Australian-based Pokemon Pty for developing an illegal NFT called Poke World by Kotiota Studios. This website even claims that Pokemon Company International and Kotiota are collaborating on the game, which is set to be launched in January 2023.

The Australian court finally decided to prevent Pokemon Pty from releasing games or selling NFTs from Pokemon IPs. Here, they also told Pokemon Pty not to use any Pokemon images and withdrew the statement that they are not affiliated with Pokemon in any way.

PokeWorld itself is still active today, and changed the word ‘Pokemon’ to Pokemons by adding an ‘s’ at the end. During the trial no representatives from Pokemon Pty were present, and Pokemon themselves revealed that Nintendo would not be issuing Pokemon NFTs at all.

If you look at what is there, it cannot be denied that PokeWorld is a game that is not true and might be a scam overall.
