Using A Configuration to Remove the Gun, Apex Legends Streamers Got Permanent Ban

As one of the most popular online multiplayer games, APEX Legends prioritizes combating cheating to reduce toxicity within the game. Recently, a streamer named MOOMAN was permanently banned or give them permanent ban for adding a configuration that removed the weapon from his screen, making his movements wider than they should be in Apex Legends.

This is considered a form of cheating called “Borderline cheating,” which MOOMAN exploited to gain an advantage in battles. Another streamer, TylerHiits, explained that MOOMAN used “something in the configuration that gave him a clear advantage with a weapon that doesn’t block anything on the screen.”

TylerHiits also added that the exploit only removed the clutter from the screen and did not actually make the user invisible. MOOMAN was surprised by the ban and claimed, “no one has ever been banned for a configuration, and all the exploitation bans I’ve seen have been short bans. That’s what I expected if anything.”

This incident highlights APEX Legends’ commitment to fair play and the severity of cheating. It’s crucial to maintain a level playing field for all players, especially in competitive games like APEX Legends. While some may argue that MOOMAN’s offense was minor, any form of cheating can undermine the integrity of the game and negatively affect the experience for other players.

APEX Legends has implemented various measures, including anti-cheat software, to detect and ban players who use exploits and cheats.
