Google has announced its plan to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) features into its Android keyboard app, Gboard. As a company that has always focused on AI, Google has missed out on the opportunity to lead the AI revolution, despite its larger size and greater resources. In contrast, smaller companies like OpenAI have managed to initiate the revolution with their ChatGPT.

In a mutually beneficial partnership, Microsoft invested billions of dollars in OpenAI after the company’s chatbot became successful. Bing, supported by ChatGPT, is now ready to lead in the search engine platform unless Google acts quickly.

Google is now racing to promote its AI products, and AI has finally become the main focus of the Google ecosystem. According to a new report, Gboard is one of the company’s products that will receive AI features.

Google plans to bring image text-to-image integration to Gboard, which will be extremely useful. According to the latest APK teardown by 9to5Google, the latest beta version of Gboard has a line of code that mentions “Imagen Keyboard.”

According to the outlet, the “Imagen” feature will appear on the shortcut bar or the same page as the clipboard and one-handed mode. Google has also recently introduced some changes to the design of Gboard, which indicate the arrival of more features. Although it is still in the development stage, it is great to see that Gboard will soon become more powerful.

There is currently no timeline for the arrival of the feature, but we hope to hear more details about it during Google I/O in May.
