Asomibo, the developer of the recently released N-INNOCENCE anime gacha RPG, has made the disappointing announcement that it will be shutting down its Japanese servers later this Summer.

This news comes just over a year after the game’s initial release, indicating that it did not achieve the success the company had hoped for, leading to the decision to close the servers even in its primary market.

Gacha game shutdowns have become a common occurrence, with approximately one in every ten releases meeting this fate shortly after launching. From past examples like Dragalia Lost to the more recent closure of Trinity Seven, it seems like this news surfaces almost weekly.

Unfortunately, these shutdowns mean that a community of players, large or small, will lose access to their favourite mobile game.

N-INNOCENCE’s inclusion in this list of shutdowns isn’t surprising, considering its relatively quiet launch and the oversaturated gacha market. Unless a game offers unique gameplay or has ties to well-known franchises, it becomes challenging to sustain operations, and N-INNOCENCE has become another testament to this reality.

As usual, the specifics behind the shutdown are scarce. It’s likely that factors such as low profitability and a declining player base contributed to the decision. However, Japanese gamers still have a few months left to enjoy the game, as the closure is scheduled for August 25th. Premium currency sales will continue until July 21st, giving players a final chance to experience the game before bidding it farewell.

While the Japanese servers are shutting down, there is no word yet on the fate of the global client. This means that players outside of Japan can still continue enjoying N-INNOCENCE for the foreseeable future.
