We’ve got some great news for Android gamers and emulation enthusiasts! Remember the popular SkyEmu emulator that specialized in emulating Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games? Well, it’s now available on Android!

All of this is thanks to the latest update, version three, which comes packed with a bunch of cool new features. The most exciting one? You can now play Nintendo DS games on the emulator! Sure, there are other emulators like DraStic that can already do this, but having more options is never a bad thing.

What’s New in the SkyEmu Update?

This update doesn’t stop at DS games – it’s loaded with other neat stuff too. You can now use the emulator in different languages, making it more accessible in places like Armenia, China, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, and Russia. And if you’re into cheats, you’ll be glad to know that you can use Action Replay cheats on most platforms, except Game Boy Color.

There are some tweaks to improve your experience too. You can change how transparent the touchscreen controls are, switch to a cool black theme (perfect for phones with OLED screens), and even make the emulator pretend it’s using a solar sensor. Plus, there’s a handy feature that hides the menu bar automatically, so you can focus solely on playing.

And if you’re a fan of save states (who isn’t?), you’ll be pleased to know that you can now organize them better by putting them into folders. No more mix-ups with your game files! Also, if you’re into that retro vibe, you can enable a Game Boy Advance color correction that’s similar to Higan.

What’s Next for SkyEmu?

While this update brings a ton of awesomeness, it’s important to mention that the Android version doesn’t support fullscreen yet. That feature is only available on the Linux and Windows versions. But who knows? Maybe it’ll show up in a later update.

Now, the big star of the show – Nintendo DS compatibility. The folks behind SkyEmu want you to know that while you can totally try DS games, there might be some hiccups with graphics and sound. It’s a bit of a work in progress, so don’t be surprised if you run into a bump or two. They’re already looking ahead to version four, which might have even smoother DS emulation.

If you’re eager to try out SkyEmu on your Android device, you can grab it from GitHub. Just remember, using emulators comes with a certain level of risk. These aren’t official apps you find on Google Play, so be cautious and keep that in mind while you’re having fun gaming on your Android.
