Pokemon Unite Brings Magikarp and Gyarados!
Timi Studio and The Pokemon Company International are starting off the new year with exciting news for Pokemon Unite fans! Pokemon Unite recently announced that Magikarp and Gyarados will be making their debut in the game on January 25, 2024. Let’s dive into the details without getting too technical.
In the first sneak peek screenshot of Magikarp in Pokemon Unite, you’ll notice a new gauge below its health bar. This gauge seems to be linked to Magikarp’s “Splash” attack, which is an essential part of its evolution. The user interface in the bottom right corner also mentions another move called Flail.
Accompanying the screenshot is a short video featuring Magikarp gracefully hopping around the map. The teaser showcases Magikarp navigating the southern lane, hopping up to an opposing goal, and coming to a stop. Unfortunately, we don’t get a glimpse of Gyarados in action just yet.
Back in December 2023, Pokemon Unite introduced two new Pokemon: Meowscarada, Sprigatito, and Floragato on December 7, and Beldum, Metang, and Metagross on December 26. If you haven’t caught Meowscarada yet, you still have a chance to earn it for free during the Meowscarada’s Flower Petal Challenge until January 10, 2024. Alternatively, you can grab Beldum, Metang, and Metagross from the in-game shop for 575 Aeos Gems.
For those playing Pokemon Unite on Nintendo Switch or mobile devices, mark your calendars for January 25, 2024, when Magikarp and Gyarados make their grand entrance into the game. Get ready for some exciting new additions to your Pokemon roster!
