If you’re a Sony Xperia 5 V user, the wait is over – Android 14 is finally making its way to your device. Sony had rolled out the update to its larger flagship, the Xperia 1 V, two months earlier, leaving Xperia 5 V users eagerly anticipating the software upgrade. The announcement came through Sony’s official Instagram account, putting an end to the wait.

The Android 14 update brings all the features packed by Google, enhancing your Xperia 5 V experience. Notable additions include the ability to use the rear LED flash as a notification light and flashing the screen for attention-grabbing notifications or alarms. Users can now take advantage of the Find My Device app, allowing easy location tracking, locking, and remote content erasure.

This update also introduces an expanded Nearby Share feature, enabling seamless file transfers from Windows computers to the phone without the need for cables. Additionally, customizable lock screen shortcuts offer a more personalized experience.

While the rollout is in progress, it typically happens in batches. So, if your Xperia 5 V hasn’t received the notification yet, rest assured it’s on its way in the coming days. Stay tuned for an upgraded Xperia 5 V experience with Android 14!
