Tencent, the Chinese tech giant, seems poised for the worldwide release of Ace Force 2, as revealed in a recent post on X (formerly Twitter). The multinational company has taken steps to secure trademarks in both Europe and Canada.

While the official release date for Ace Force 2 is still under wraps, Tencent has already set the stage by registering a Western domain – aceforce2.com, distinct from the Chinese domain – wpzs.qq.com.

Ace Force 2 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, a first-person shooter with an original anime-style concept, akin to the popular multiplayer game Overwatch. Despite Ace Force’s initial launch limited to Asia, it swiftly climbed the charts to become a top-earning title for Tencent in China.

About Ace Force 2 and Its Similarity to Overwatch

Ace Force stands as a hero-based FPS designed for mobile gaming. Emphasizing cooperative gameplay, the game boasts a roster of archetypal characters, each equipped with a unique set of skills and attributes. Players can take on roles ranging from mid-range gunners to long-range snipers or even healers, requiring strategic collaboration to secure victory on the battlefield.

The parallels between Ace Force and Overwatch go beyond conceptual similarities, with core features echoing the iconic online multiplayer shooter from Blizzard Entertainment. From unleashing powerful abilities to completing missions on various maps, heroes engage in climactic battles, with interconnected lore adding depth to the characters.

While overlap is expected in specific genres, Ace Force goes above and beyond in mirroring mechanics and cosmetics, drawing attention to its resemblance to the widely acclaimed Overwatch. Despite concerns about imitation, The game manages to present itself as an impressive smartphone game, capturing the essence of its inspiration while bringing its own flair to the table.
